Internet from iota 4 ji. Yota coverage area

Why there is a need and in what cases it is necessary to amplify the signal Yota LTE/WiMAX?

WiMAX technology was actively discussed in our country in 2008, when the first commercial network under the Yota brand was put into operation. Since then, the demand for mobile Internet has been quite high. There is an active development of the network in Moscow, St. Petersburg, Krasnodar, Sochi and Ufa, but the network coverage is not yet complete and it is not always possible to provide a stable signal and high quality of communication.

There are places - "Dead Zones", where the signal level periodically disappears or it is too weak to ensure uninterrupted and high speed access in Internet. The question arises: how to amplify the Yota LTE signal?

Indoors, the signal level is weaker than outdoors due to power loss when the radio wave passes through thick walls. Therefore, the easiest and most common way is to buy a USB extension cable and place the modem as close to the window as possible. It must be understood that this option will only allow a slight amplification of the Yota signal.

most efficient and best option LTE signal amplification is a connection external antennas for Yota, which allows you to get high-quality and fast access in Internet.

In what cases is it necessary to amplify the Yota signal?

  • If you are at a small distance from the base station and the modem does not see the Yota signal
  • When the modem or router sees a weak signal but can connect
  • If you need to increase the speed of your Internet connection

On the market you can find a huge number antennas for signal amplification Yota different parameters and manufacturers. These antennas are connected to the corresponding connector on the USB modem or to the LTE router. The router, as a rule, has a special connector for connecting an external antenna, but there is no such connector in modems.

In this case, you have to modify the modem socket by removing protective film and attaching to it the so-called "pigtail". Unfortunately this operation voids your modem warranty, but it allows you to increase the speed of receiving and sending data. We can offer you antennas for Yota, in which the modem itself is used as an antenna feed.

What antenna parameters affect Yota signal gain?

It must be understood that the antenna is a passive element, and there is no LTE amplifier in it. Amplification of the Yota signal is achieved only by changing the antenna pattern and more accurate focusing of the signal. A quantitative measure of the effectiveness of the antenna is the gain (KU). The more KU the antenna has, the narrower its radiation pattern and the more difficult it will be to direct such an antenna exactly at the base station. Moreover, the antenna will have to be adjusted in 2 planes: in the horizontal and in the vertical.

We present you the most powerful antenna for Yota - parabolic MIMO antenna HiTE Grid with 2x24 dBi gain and built-in modem. No more thinking about pigtails and expensive microwave cables! No signal loss in cable and connectors. You not only save your money, but also get a real chance to catch a signal where the modem simply “did not see” it before.

With our antenna, the signal will always be stable, and the data transfer rate will be much higher than in traditional kits with pigtails and cable! To date, a high-gain MIMO antenna is the most effective solution for connecting a country house or summer cottage to the Yota network!

Cellular operator Iota breaks records for the provision of services. Still appearing on the market as a newcomer, the provider managed to acquire an impressive client base. For some subscribers, an obstacle to switching to a new traffic and mobile provider is the 4G Yota coverage area. In order to get high-quality Internet, it is advisable to live where there is an opportunity to connect as an LTE.

Iota zones on the map of Russia

Yota is the undisputed leader mobile market, offering tariffs that can only be refused by those subscribers who live in remote places where they have not yet spread their rays wireless network. If you are interested in the price of the provider's services and would like to purchase its 4G modem, check the map located on the official Iota website to see if LTE frequencies reach your locality.

At present, almost every point Russian Federation it is possible to connect a Yota router. However, the quality of reception will depend on what type of signal enters the connection area. Yota offers four options:

  1. The area of possible coverage is the most unstable option, which does not guarantee the presence of any connection from Yota. If there is a connection, it directly depends on changes in weather, topography and other factors;
  2. 2G - this zone includes almost all regions. If you live in a small settlement, it is highly likely that you will see it on the map in this particular sector;
  3. 3G - a network of this level is available in almost all cities of the Russian Federation with a population of several thousand;
  4. 4G is the highest quality option, which includes 4G internet. This parameter It is present only in large settlements of the country. Yota 4G does not cover most of the territories.

Most of all Muscovites and residents of the settlements closest to the capital were lucky. They are included in the Yota LTE coverage area.

How tariffs from Iota are distributed

Provider tariffs depend on several factors: device type, Internet speed, amount of traffic. Fundamental in pricing Yota is the type of device. Other factors depend on it. So the price of visiting the international web from a tablet will depend solely on how much time the user spends on the Internet. You can pay by the day, month or year. The longer the term, the lower the cost of traffic. If you connect the annual tariff, the Internet will cost less than 10 rubles per day, despite the fact that daily unlimited traffic is 50 rubles.

Tariffs for smartphones depend on the number of minutes used and the selected Internet traffic. So 5 gigabytes and 300 minutes of negotiations will cost 450 rubles per month. The price of the maximum volume: 30 GB and 5000 minutes - 2,550 rubles. For laptop modem and personal computers price for unlimited Internet depends on speed. If you connect at the minimum speed of 64 Kbps, the user will not be charged. Billing starts from 512 Kbps, which cost users 300 rubles a month. The highest possible speed, more than 6.5 Mbps, costs 1000 rubles.

Whether there is coverage in the 4G standard, you can check by the presence of the Megafon network. Yota uses the infrastructure of this particular provider. When studying the map, it should be taken into account that the operator makes some short-term retreats, as the coverage area does not stop expanding. If the user is in the border zone, it is likely that 4G does not catch him at the time of checking the card.

Yota strives for the most progressive solutions. Therefore, in the near future it makes sense to expect an improvement in the quality of communication in all regions of the country. If new standards appear, you can be sure that the provider will be the first to switch to them.

To clarify and determine the inoperability of the network or device, we advise you to contact the official support service.

How to buy Yota

In order to become the owner of a Yota Sim-card and get a quick modern internet in Moscow and the Moscow region on your device, you must first familiarize yourself with the availability of Yota network coverage in your region.
To do this, it is recommended that you first visit the provider's official website where there is the latest information about all cities of coverage and places where you can connect to the Yota network.

It is worth remembering that Yota is part of the Megafon group of companies and in many places works on the principle of a virtual operator - at the facilities of other providers with whom a cooperation agreement has been concluded. Therefore, in almost all places where there is coverage of any mobile operator in Russia, the Yota network will work.
In order not to guess on the coverage of the network, but to know for sure we created new map 4G network coverage. It has several zones with operator towers (MTS, Megafon, Tele2) operating in Russia.

You can choose the tariff of your city in or on the official website Yota.ru

The Internet is an important part of the life of a modern person. Its quality is assessed based on several components - speed, stability, coverage. When choosing an operator, the whole complex of characteristics is taken into account.

Yota is one of the most popular domestic providers, the coverage area of which is becoming wider every day. The company announced the beginning of work in the market of telecommunication services not so long ago. A few years later, the networks of 2G, 3G, 4G (LTE) standards of this operator cover almost the entire populated part of the country. Yota subscribers can move around the regions of Russia without fear of being left without a connection.

In this article, an analysis is made of one of the elements of communication quality from Yota - the coverage area. Attention is paid to geographical distribution, regions with excellent quality and those in which the operator is not well represented are listed, as well as how to find out about the presence of networks in a particular point of the country.

The most complete and up-to-date information about the coverage area is presented on the official website of Eta. To study it, you must select the "Coverage Map" section in the top menu. The interactive scheme works on the basis of Yandex.Maps with the ability to use all related tools - choosing the display mode, zooming out and zooming in, and searching. The maps contain exact information about where Yota towers are already functioning or just being built.

For convenience, the map is divided into zones. In addition, when choosing a home region at the top of the page, it is automatically centered on it.

On the interactive diagram, you can view information about where a particular communication standard is supported, and the reception level is also marked. It is colored in different shades depending on the supported standard in specific territories. So, the coverage areas of this operator are highlighted in orange, where voice communication and 2G format are provided, blue - with 3G Internet, blue - 4G. It is characteristic that the transitions between the regions practically merge.

The mission of the company is to make mobile communications and the Internet from Eta available anywhere in the country, and it is in this direction that the main work is being done.

Signal quality in different regions of Russia

When studying the interactive map in more detail, it can be concluded that the north and south are partially covered by the connection. Thus, Krasnodar, Murmansk, Rostov-on-Don, St. Petersburg, Samara, Sochi fall within the coverage area of this operator in 4G format. There are more and more places where it is possible to provide customers with access to the Internet in 4G quality from Eta.

Magadan, Vorkuta, Naryan-Mar and other large cities of the Far East with adjacent areas belong to the zones of reliable reception of voice communication and broadband WSDMA Internet. As for central regions, south, west and northwestern territories, where only rare dots mark places where there is no 2G connection. The 3G standard has slightly less coverage, and LTE towers are located in almost all regional centers in the central, southern and western districts.

Voice and Internet coverage from Iota in Russia is on the rise. Everyone who wants to test the strength of the connection is given the opportunity to test drive the equipment for free. The speed can be tested if the region is within the coverage area of the standard of interest - 3G or 4G (LTE). In some settlements, speed limits are likely. This is due to uneven terrain, proximity to more powerful sources of radio signals, and distance from the base towers.

Cities where the Iota LTE network is excellent

This information can be obtained on the official website of the company in the appropriate section. The diagram shows places that have already been tested for the presence and strength of the signal. The presented geographic coverage map provides information about the presence of communication in 2G, 3G and LTE standards.

Thanks to the systematic activity of the company, the number of base stations is constantly growing and, accordingly, the coverage of new territories with modern communication standards. Mobility - important condition and for doing business, and for a good rest, including outdoors. The presence of a signal is important not only within settlements. Those who, for example, love fishing in the countryside, also want to stay in touch so as not to limit themselves in communication, to be able to receive up-to-date information about the weather or find out on the forums the latest information about the best places to fish.

There are more and more settlements with an excellent signal every day. If the site has information about the opening of a new Yota sales point, it means that there is already an opportunity to be online. The lucky ones include residents of two capitals, resort towns, Kursk, Pyatigorsk, Nizhny Novgorod, Rostov-on-Don, Orenburg, Astrakhan and many others. This list is updated daily.

What towers does Yota use

Every business needs start-up capital. If not, then the support of a friend will come in handy. Since the organization of mobile communications requires expensive equipment, most often new providers use the capacities of companies that have been operating in this service market for a long time. The largest domestic operator Megafon has become an experienced and reliable "friend" for Eta. Its subsidiary is Yota.

Studying the zone of reliable reception, it is easy to notice that the towers of the Yota operator on the map are located in the same place as those of MegaFon. Therefore, the coverage of the territory of Iota is very worthy.

In fact, Yota is a virtual operator. But, using the equipment of her closest companion, she also has her own base stations, therefore, it is impossible to put an equal sign between the territorial coverage of these two operators.

The main direction of MegaFon's daughter is unlimited Internet. It is the development of this service that is given the most attention by a young company that tracks the preferences of modern users. Eta's tower area is continuously expanding to support advanced standards.

Regions where there is no 4G Yota coverage

A person wants to be free from wires tying to stationary operators. Many people look forward to high speed technology appear in their area. In the face of fierce competition, all major providers are in a hurry to cover as many territories as possible.

Although the network operator Yota is a recent participant in this race, it can already be attributed to the leaders of the domestic telecommunications market. The territory of Russia is huge. It takes a lot of effort and investment from everyone who wants to be the first to expand the coverage of the 4G network in the vast country.

Weak development of the new communication standard from Yota is still observed in the Far Eastern part of the Russian Federation. Objective difficulties with the expansion of reliable reception zones exist in the Far North and most of the territory of the Siberian region. In the south and in the center of the country there are also places where there is poor coverage, especially in small towns and urban-type settlements.

When will Eta appear in my region

Knowing about the ambitious plans of a young telecom operator, we can say that if in some region on this moment it is not represented, this situation will change soon. The company's management has repeatedly announced its plans to fully cover the country's territory with 3G and 4G standards. The time is near when the Yota LTE reception areas will not differ in volume and merge in color on the map of Russia not only with 3G, but also with the 2G standard. This will be achieved by increasing the number and power of transmitting towers and expanding the radio frequency range.

Yota plans for 4G network

Given that broadband access to the network is becoming more and more in demand every day, the Iota service segment is increasing, and the operator's coverage areas with the 4G standard are expanding. The company plans to fully master the range of LTE radio frequencies that meet the needs of target consumers. Also, the possibility of transition to innovative technologies, if they appear in the future, is not excluded.

How to determine if LTE will work

To make sure that there is an acceptable 4G coverage area in the region of interest, you need to refer to the functionality of the interactive map on the official website of the provider. If the area is displayed on it in orange, blue or blue, then the operator supports, respectively, 2G-, 3G- or 4G-standard.

The next step is to check the quality of the service provided. This can be done in one of two ways:

  • order a test drive;
  • rent a modem.

In the first case, you need to purchase a modem. Upon purchase, an agreement will be concluded, created Personal Area in which you can edit technical settings and control financial flows. The duration of the test period directly depends on the selected speed. During the trial period, you can decide on the connection conditions and choose a package with the desired ratio of its cost and service parameters.

On average, the test is available within seven days, provided that the device is in good condition. At the time of return, you must have a check and a passport with you.

  • equipment will not be accepted back without presenting a check;
  • for non-residents of the Russian Federation, the refund is made only by bank transfer;
  • it is better to clarify all the conditions of a test drive in advance at the contact center;
  • a one-time trial period is allowed.

In the second case, when renting a modem, the equipment is provided for temporary use to the client in accordance with the price list in force at the time of the conclusion of the contract.

Yota provides high-speed Internet of a new standard in excellent quality, with a wide coverage radius and on favorable terms.

Unfortunately, even in the 21st century, the problem of low speed and unreliability of Internet access is familiar to most residents of rural areas, private areas and small towns where there is no developed infrastructure of providers, but mainly modems of mobile operators are used.

Briefly, in pictures and without theoretical justification, I will tell you how I managed to compete for quality. It turned out a simple guide to making a Bi-Quad antenna, for beginners - “do it like me!”

And to make it more fervent, I will immediately give the results.
Reception: it was - 2.7 MB / s, it became - 19 MB / s.
Broadcast: it was - 0.16 MB / s, it became - 6 MB / s.
More than 6 times the receiving advantage, hehe!

At one time, due to the favorable conditions for 4G Internet, the operator "Yota" (LTE, 2500-2530 / 2620-2650 MHz) was chosen. The Huawei E3372h modem from Megafon was unlocked and installed with a router on the windowsill:

But the speed and stability of the channel, to put it mildly, left much to be desired:

I looked at the map of the Yota action in my area, found out the location of the tower. It turned out that I was in very disadvantageous conditions:

1) The boundary of the zone of reliable reception.
2) When installing the modem indoors, there is no direct line of sight in the direction of the tower (it interferes with the neighboring house).

Tricks in the form of an additional indoor antenna and the use of a reflector, as expected, did not give positive results.

The best high frequency amplifier is a good antenna!

Asked, consulted with colleagues.
I chose a reliable "Bi-Quad" design, which I propose to repeat for you! Our antenna will be simple and passive, without taking the electronics outside.

We will need:

1) A plate of foil fiberglass 100 mm by 100 mm for a reflector.
2) A piece of 300 mm copper (even better - silver-plated) wire, with a diameter of 1.5 - 2 mm for the antenna web. The thicker, the more broadband the antenna will be.
3) Drop cable type RK75-7, "television", good quality(mono-core + "thick" tinned copper braid), 5 - 8 m long. 4) "TV" HF connectors (jack and plug),
5) with a piece of thin RF cable for connecting to a modem. I "bit off" one from a room "wi-fi" pipette type antenna.

We are not in a hurry, we do everything carefully and carefully. See photos. We mark a piece of wire eight times 30 mm each and form the antenna web with pliers. From the segment, we bend the L-shaped traverse twice by 15 mm.
We drill a hole with a diameter of 7 mm and a couple of holes for fasteners in the center of the reflector, cut the cable:

We assemble the structure by soldering:

We place the antenna in a suitable box. I used a junction box for wiring.

We make a transitional lace. You can’t do without it, the main cable is very hard:

We pass the cable through the hole in the window frame (or window). We install the connector on the main cable. We connect:

The implementation of the design took no more than two hours, so some “roughness” of manufacturing is noticeable, which do not affect performance.

My Huawei E3372h modem has two CRC9 RF sockets. In this case, the best communication channel is obtained when connected to a socket located closer to the USB connector (apparently, a feature of this type of modem).

Now we need to find the installation location. The parameters of the router with the modem helped to monitor the signal level in real time:

The larger the CINR value and the smaller (modulo) RSSI, the stronger the signal.

Luckily, I didn't have to make a separate mast or mounting bracket. Direct visibility "opened" during installation "on wires" under the shelf of the roof of the house, on the corner.
