Unidentified network restricted internet access. What to do if an unidentified network appears

Everyone faces this problem, and, unfortunately, this fate comes sooner or later. You should not be afraid, since in particular the problem is still being solved, although there can be a lot of reasons for it. And so, you can’t go to any site, but in the lower right corner it says “Without access to the Internet” or “without access to the network”, and you will see a yellow triangle. Let's not beat around and around, and sort everything out possible solutions Let's start with the most popular ones.

HELP! Dear readers, you can always write your question or describe your problem below in the comments. And I will try to help you as much as I can.

How to Fix - Quick Solution

What to do first? If internet packets are distributed wirelessly WiFi networks and he disappeared abruptly, then the router may have turned off. This happens on old, already worn routers that have been working for more than one year. Our task is simply to reboot the device. This can be done in two ways:

  1. We find the ON / OFF or ON / OFF button on the back panel. Press once, wait 5 seconds, turn on.
  2. Unplug the power cord from the outlet and plug it in again after 5 seconds.

Sometimes a router is needed only for distributing a Wi-Fi network, and access to the World Wide Web goes through a modem. So just in case, reboot it too.

My old router was buggy like this every 2-3 days. It was just that he was already old and his time had come to an end. Soon I bought a new one. So, if this problem recurs often, then get a new device.

Checking the physical connection

It doesn’t matter if you have a computer or a laptop, if the wire goes straight, then look at the blinking or lit light on the network card. Also make sure that the light on the LAN port LED is on. I will explain more clearly - on almost every router, there is an indicator.

When you insert a wire into one of the LAN ports and data is being exchanged, the indicator is on or blinking. The indicators are located on the front of the machine. Take a look at the photo below - 1 LAN port is connected to the PC and works stably.

If at physical connection If the light doesn't come on, the cable is most likely broken. In the box from under the router, there should be a factory wire, you can safely use it.

Another problem is when the wire from the Internet is plugged in the wrong way. Look back and see that the cable from the provider was in the internet connector. A friend's daughter once played with a router and plugged the wires into the wrong connectors, and therefore there was no Internet. If the router does not light up at all, then the power supply is already a problem, try turning it on.

The surest way is to screw up the wires and see that they stand clearly in the port. Once, my Internet went offline, because the eyelet fell off the plastic tip of the wire, because of which the wire simply moved away. In this case, the good old matches will help. But still, it is better to re-compress the end or change the cable.

Network settings

In the case of a Wi-Fi connection, the problem may lie elsewhere. In 20% of cases, the network settings on the PC do not allow access to the Internet. The principle of changing the configuration is the same as on Windows 7, XP, 8, 10 and Vista.

  1. You need to click on the yellow triangle in the bottom corner, and then select "Network Control Center and public access».
  1. Next, select from the left block - "Change adapter settings".
  2. Usually on a stationary PC there is one network card, and on laptops there are two connections: via wireless technology and via LAN. Make sure the connection you are using is enabled. If the configuration is disabled, it will be highlighted in gray. Press to turn on right click and "Enable".
  3. Right-click on the desired connection and then in the "Property".

  1. Click once on "Internet Protocol version 2(TCP/IPv4). And then properties.

  1. Pay attention to the picture above. In the settings there is a permanent IP address. Also directly registered are the subnet mask and the main gateway (should be our router). Therefore, there are two options for inoperability in the network:
    1. If someone else is using the Internet, then most likely this IP address is already being used by another computer, phone or network printer.
    2. The second option is that the router is on a different subnet.
  2. There is only one solution, just put a tick in front "Obtain an IP address automatically" And "Obtain DNS server address automatically".
  3. We confirm the configuration and look at the result.
  4. In case of further absence of the network, go back to the settings, check the box "Use the following DNS server addresses" and write:
    1. Preferred DNS Server: 8.8.8.8
    2. Alternate DNS Server: 8.8.4.4
  5. Next, the Internet should be connected. If this does not help immediately, then after changing the configuration, restart the computer or laptop.

Installing FIPS

  1. If you have a laptop, and the connection is via WiFi networks- click on it in the right corner of the desktop.
  2. Then we press "Properties".
  3. Click on the second tab from the left with the name "Safety".

  1. Click on the button at the bottom - "Extra options".
  2. We put a mark "Enable Federal Information Processing Standard Compatibility Mode for this network (FIPS)" and confirm the change . After that, restart your computer or laptop.

Reset DNS communication settings

  1. We start the command line. To do this, in the start menu in the search bar, type cmd.
  2. Right click and "Run as administrator". If you just run the console, no changes will be made.
  3. Next, enter the commands one by one:
    1. ipconfig /flushdns
    2. netsh winsock reset
    3. netsh int ip reset c:\resetlog.txt.
  4. Now we reboot the machine.

Software and broken network card drivers

Drivers can break from viruses or third party programs that work with network protocols. It is very popular for sichs to use WPN programs that can establish additional network connections.

  1. Press WIN + R, enter ncpa.cpl and click OK.
  2. See if there are any suspicious connections that weren't there before.
  3. If they are, then disable them by right-clicking - "Property" and press "Switch off".
  4. After that, even if the Internet and the network are working, you need to remove the conflicting program.
  5. We go to Start.
  6. Next, select "Control Panel" and go to programs.

  1. Set sort by installation date and see the latest installed programs. Sometimes the installation may take background when loading regular programs.
  2. Remove suspicious software by right-clicking and "Delete".
  3. We restart the computer.
  4. It is not a fact that everything will start working, since the program could break the driver for the network card. by the most fast way there will be a system restore. For this we go to "Start" - "All Programs" - "Accessories" - "Utilities". Choose " System Restore".
  5. Pick the earliest possible point and start the service. After the reboot, the system should display a successful recovery window. If you see an inscription that the system has not been restored, you will have to look for a driver on the Internet, download it, and then install it on a PC. If you still have a disc with drivers from motherboard, you can install from there.

The system can break not only from third-party software, but also from viruses. So be sure to install latest version antivirus and scan the entire computer for dangerous and suspicious software.

Provider

In 80% of cases, this problem lies with the provider. Be sure to call and find out what the problem is.

After dialing, they usually say that technical work or breakdowns in the channel are underway. But sometimes, they may say that everything is fine with them. Ask a tech worker. services check the connection from the server to you.

If that doesn't help, ask which DNS is best to use. You already know how to change them from the chapters above. If all else fails, then the cable may have cut off on your line in the entrance, then you will have to call a worker to your house to check the line.

different subnets

Sometimes a problem in connecting to the Internet is due to the fact that the computer and network adapter are on different subnets. This often happens in offices when a new machine is connected to the subnet.

  1. First we need to find the IP address of the router. According to the standard, they are 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.0.1. I personally have 192.168.1.1.

NOTE! The standard address of the router can be found on the label under the device.

  1. You need to go into the network settings and see what is there. In any Windows, press two keys WIN + R at the same time. We write the ncpa.cpl command and click OK.

  1. Next, you need to view the properties of the IPv4 connection.

  1. Note that the computer's IP address is 192.168.5.123. And the address of my router is 192.168.1.1. They are located on different subnets and do not see each other. My PC is located in the 5th subnet, and the router is in the 1st.
  2. Next, it's best to set automatic IP and DNS discovery, as in the picture below.

Setting up a router

Once there was such a case when children, playing with an interesting box, reset the router settings to factory settings, and then no one could understand what the problem was. Sometimes it happens that the settings themselves have gone astray and they need to be adjusted or corrected. Most importantly, take and keep nearby the contract with the provider, which specifies the connection settings.

  1. It is best to connect the router directly if this is not the case. Take a regular wire and plug one end into one of the LAN ports, and the other into the network card.
  2. Now you need to go to the admin panel of the router. To do this, open any browser and enter the IP address of the router. By standard, this is usually either 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.0.1.
  1. Enter login and password. By factory standards, this is admin, admin, if you have not changed them. The instructions below will differ slightly depending on the operating system of the router.

TP Link

I’ll tell you using the example of the TP-Link Wireless N Router WR841N model, which is the most popular in the Russian Federation and the CIS countries.

  1. In the left menu select "Net" and then press « wan".

  1. Click on the connection type and select exactly the one that your provider uses: Static IP address, PPPoE, L2TP/L2TP, PPTP/PPTP, BigPont cable.
  2. Further, depending on the choice, you need to enter data from the provider from the contract or by calling the number hotline in those. support.
  3. If you are having trouble with the settings, then click "Quick Setup" in the left menu and just follow the instructions.

ASUS

  1. In the lower left menu, select "Internet".
  2. Select the type of connection in
    1. We enter the settings. You can also click « Quick Settings the Internet."

    Other models

The scheme is basically the same:

    1. In the main menu we find the section "Internet" or "WAN" and click on it.
    2. Select the type of connection that your provider uses:
      1. Automatic IP detection- this connection is usually in the machine. Here we simply set this parameter and the Internet should appear.
      2. PPPoE- Here you will need a username and password to access. You may need to specify the associated MAC address. If this is your PC, then click clone this parameter.
      3. Static IP- here you need to specify the external IP, subnet mask, default gateway and DNS servers.
      4. L2TP or PPTP- specify the static connection data, login, password and DNS.
    3. We enter the settings from the contract.
    4. Don't forget to set up wifi.
    5. We apply them and reboot the router - turning it off and on.

ADVICE! To know how to set up Internet and Wi-Fi for your model, just use the search on our website. To do this, enter the full name of your router and follow the instructions in the article. There is nothing complicated there and everything is written very clearly.

The Internet is an integral part of our life. The lack of a network is a serious problem for the user. There is not always time to call the provider, but, fortunately, you can troubleshoot yourself. Below you will read about common causes of Internet problems and how to fix them.

Possible reasons for the lack of Internet on Windows 7

There are several reasons for not having internet. Some of them are related to computer drivers and hardware, others are related to system errors and lack correct settings networks.

The most common reasons for the lack of Internet:

  • mechanical damage to the cable or ports;
  • lack of a network card or its drivers;
  • incorrect connection settings on the computer or router;
  • presence of virus software.

The Internet may also be unavailable due to debt on personal account or because of an accident on the line. Before you try to troubleshoot, check if they are caused by these factors.

How to check network status

Among the problems with the Internet, one can single out those that occur most often and periodically occur for most users. Resolving them is very easy. The first thing to do is check the status of the network.

You can do this in two ways:

In both cases, under the icon of your network, its status will be described.

Unidentified network without internet access

If the computer "sees" the network and connects to it, but does not get access to the Internet, the network status will be called: "Unidentified network. No internet access." What to do in this case?

The computer "sees" the network and connects to it, but does not access the Internet

Rebooting the router

If you have a router installed, the first thing to do is to reboot it. He may simply not have time to update the data, and because of this, access to the network will be lost. Reboot is performed in the following order:

  1. First, the router is disconnected from the network. It is important to unplug the cord from the outlet, and not to reboot using the button on the equipment - you need to stop the flow of electricity for a while.
  2. Then, for 10-15 seconds, the router must be left turned off.
  3. After that, the router is connected back to the network and wait until the indicators on it light up.

After the indication on the router has appeared, you can check whether access to the Internet has appeared. Usually, after a reboot, the Internet appears within 7–10 seconds.

Checking network settings

Network settings are data that allow a computer to connect to a network distributed by an ISP. These settings are issued by the company that provides access to the Internet (usually they are specified in the contract for the provision of services). Sometimes the settings on the computer get lost, and because of this, the device cannot connect to the Internet.

In order to check the network settings, you need to open the "Protocol Properties". You can do it like this:

  1. Go to the "Control Panel" through the "Start" menu.
"Control Panel" is located in the right menu "Start"
  2. Select "Network and Internet".
To find desired section, you should select the category view option in the upper right corner of the screen
  3. Open the "Network and Sharing Center" section.
In the "Network Control Center" you can check the connection status, create a new network, carry out almost any action with your Internet connection
  4. On the left, find the "Change adapter settings" section.
Locate the "Change adapter settings" section
  5. In the list of networks, select the one you need, right-click on it and find the "Properties" item. Only an administrator can open Properties.
Desired network will be called "Connection by local network" or "Ethernet"
  6. In the list, find the item "Internet Protocol version 4", select it with a single click of the left mouse button. After that, the "Properties" button under the list is activated, you need to click on it.
An item is selected by a single left-click of the mouse. You do not need to uncheck the box next to the item

When the window is open, you still need to understand what settings should be entered. There are three options:

We will understand what IPoE and PPPoE protocols are, but we will not go into terminology. It is enough to understand what protocol is used on your communication line. To do this, just look at the network settings issued by the provider (specified in the contract).

Settings can be as follows:

  • password and login are used on the PPPoE protocol,
  • IP address, subnet mask, gateway and DNS are used on IPoE.

If PPPoE is used and you are connected directly, that is, you do not use a router, after checking the settings through the protocol properties, you need to recreate the network.

  1. Return to "Network and Sharing Center".
Thus, only PPPoE connection is configured. Protocol properties are used to set up a wired IPoE connection
  2. Open the "Create and configure a new connection" item.
Switching between items is done with a single click of the left mouse button.
  3. Select "Create and configure new network and click Next.
The selected item will be highlighted with a bright blue background.
  4. Click on the "High Speed" option.
Search Waiting available connections may take several minutes
  5. If an error occurs, select "Create connection anyway".
This error appears quite often, but the connection can still be created
  6. Next, you will need to enter the network settings, as well as the network name - this is the name of the connection. You can use the name of the provider company or something else.
The connection name is its name, and the username and password are the network settings. It's worth noting that the password has nothing to do with the Wi-Fi key.

After that, the network will be reconfigured, and you will need to check the availability of network access.

Reset TCP/IP settings

Sometimes internal system errors can be the cause of problems. TCP/IP - set network protocols responsible for data transfer. You can reset it like this:

Checking Drivers

The reason for the lack of access may be outdated drivers(usually this problem is related to a recent update of the operating system). Let's check their condition.

In addition, by right-clicking on the name of the driver, you can select "Uninstall", and then restart the computer. Then, when you turn on the system, it will automatically install the missing driver.

After uninstalling the drivers and rebooting the computer, the system will automatically install the appropriate drivers

If next to the driver icon is Exclamation point, you will need to completely reinstall the drivers and check the performance of the network card installed in the computer.

The default gateway is not available

Network Diagnostics will help you identify the following problem. Right-click on your connection icon, select Troubleshoot.

By right-clicking on the icon, you can also open the "Network Control Center"

If you receive a Gateway Unreachable message after system diagnostics, the following steps may help.

Prohibit turning off the AC adapter to save power

Sometimes the system disables the network adapter - the device that allows you to connect to the internet - to save power. Try to disable this option.

  1. Find "Device Manager" through the search bar in the "Start" menu.
Opening the "Device Manager" through the search is not the only way, but the most convenient
  2. Expand the "Network adapters" tab, select the one you need, right-click on it.
IN context menu click on "Properties"
  3. Select "Properties" and open the "Power Management" tab.
Changing these settings will also help solve the problem of disconnecting the Internet after the computer goes to sleep
  4. Uncheck the box next to "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power" and save the data.
After changing the settings, do not forget to save them by clicking on the "OK" button.

Update or reinstall drivers

Also, through the "Device Manager" you can update the drivers: expand the "Network adapters" tab, right-click on the network driver and select "Update" or "Uninstall", then restart the computer.

If the action does not help, you can download the drivers from the websites of their manufacturers and install them yourself. Manufacturers usually offer to download drivers in the ".exe" file format, so for installation you only need to run the downloaded file and accept the agreement.

Error 651 occurs when connecting to the Internet through a router

This error occurs when trying to connect via PPPoE. Rarely, but it happens that users create a new high-speed connection while the provider uses the IPoE protocol. Therefore, first of all, make sure that you are using the PPPoE protocol.

After that, you will need to re-create the connection. The process is described in detail in the "Checking network settings" section (all you need to do is create a new connection through the "Network Control Center"). If that doesn't help, read on.

Disable antivirus

Sometimes antivirus programs block access to the Internet. Often the solution to the problem can be disabling the antivirus. Right-click on its icon in the Control Panel and select Disable. Sometimes antiviruses block access to the network even in a "sleep" state, so you can try not only to disable, but also completely remove this software. If this action helped, report the situation to technical support antivirus software.

Problems on the router

The cause of the problems can be several problems associated with the router:

  • incorrectly connected cable;
  • incorrectly entered settings.

First try doing the following:

  1. Disconnect the router from the network.
  2. Without connecting the router, unplug the network cable from it and plug it back into the WAN / INTERNET port, making sure that the plastic clip on the plug clicks when connected.
  3. If the cable goes from the router to the computer, disconnect it from the LAN connector on the router itself and from the network card connector on the computer, and then plug it back in.
  4. Connect the router to the network.

If access does not appear, check the network settings entered on the router. In order to access the router, you will need to enter "192.168.1.1" or "192.168.0.1" in any browser (in the address bar). Sometimes the address at which you can log into the router is different, so if you cannot log in through the specified addresses, check the data in the instructions.

Internet files not downloading

It may also happen that Internet access is active, but files are not downloaded. This problem is usually associated not with the Internet itself, but with a computer, software.

What you can try to do:

  • try to download a file from another source - you may not be able to download something simply because the resource does not support downloading;
  • try downloading through other browsers;
  • check your computer for malware using any official antivirus.

Internet media not working

It happens that the Internet works, but video or audio materials are not played. What to do in this case? First, check if the files downloaded to the computer can be played. Perhaps the cause of the problem lies directly in sound settings computer. If files are played from a computer, but not from the Internet, read on.

The first thing to do is to understand why this problem occurs. It may be a browser error, the absence of plugins. To get your computer up and running, do the following:

PPPoE Diagnostics

Additionally, in order to find out the causes of errors when using PPPoE, you can use the "Troubleshooting Center". Then the system will independently check for errors and offer possible solutions.

PPPoE (Point-to-Point Protocol over Ethernet) is a communication protocol over Ethernet network, which works on a point-to-point basis and gives the user a number of options: encryption, authentication and data compression. It is necessary for the user authorization system, which makes it easier to track the time of provision and payment of network services.

Right-click on the network connection icon and click the Troubleshoot button. After that, an analysis will be made, Windows will try to cope with the difficulties on its own, after which it will prompt you to perform several actions.

Error 619

Restart your computer and disable all security systems: antiviruses and Windows Firewall. The latter is disabled in the following way:

Error 633

There is only one solution:

  1. Restart your computer.
  2. Try to connect to the internet again.
  3. Create a new connection.

Error 638

The main causes of occurrence:

  • damage to the network cable;
  • malfunction of drivers or network card;
  • incorrect connection settings;
  • malfunctions on network equipment(router);
  • the presence of viruses on the computer.

First of all, do two things: check the integrity of the cable and the presence of an indication on the router. Never neglect these steps in case of problems with the Internet, so as not to waste time trying to solve the problem caused by mechanical damage.

It is clear that if the cable is damaged, you need to call the provider. But if there is no indication on the router (which indicates that the device is de-energized), you should try to reconnect the router to another outlet before replacing it.

After checking the functionality of the router and the integrity of the cable, check the computer for viruses with any antivirus program.

If the above does not help, re-create the network connection - check the correctness of the entered settings both on the router through its settings, and on the computer itself through the protocol properties. Both actions are described in detail in the previous paragraphs of the article.

Error 691

The only reason for the occurrence of error 691 is the incorrectly entered password and login (network settings). Therefore, the first thing you need to do is re-create the connection. The process has already been described earlier - you need to go to the "Network Control Center", select "Create a new connection" and then enter the correct network settings. After that, restart your computer and check your internet connection.

If the action does not help, report the problem to the provider. Perhaps there was an accident on the line, which caused the error.

Error 720

The easiest way to solve this problem is to reinstall the operating system. To do this, just download from the site windows file operating system to a disk (or purchase a disk from a store) and run on your computer.

You can also try updating the TCP/IP protocol. The action is described above, but you can perform a deeper operation by completely reinstalling the stack. Reinstalling the stack yourself is dangerous - you have to work with system files, and damage to them will affect the operation of the computer. Therefore, just try to update the stack, and if the action does not help, contact the provider or a professional wizard for help.

Video: PPPoE Connection Errors and Troubleshooting

Network cable not connected

If, when checking the connection status, a message appears that the network cable is not connected, the first thing to do is really check that it is connected correctly and that there is no damage. If possible, try using a different network cable.

Make sure the cable is connected correctly. On the router, the network cable must be connected to the WAN or INTERNET port, and the cable leading from the router to the computer must be connected to the LAN connector. There is usually only one port on a computer, so it will be difficult to make a mistake.

The WAN or INTERNET port is used to connect a network cable to the router, and the LAN ports are used to run cables to computers

Next, check the status of the router (if any). Its indicators should light up as usual. If there is no indication, reconnect the router to another outlet, try resetting the settings on the router (using the "Reset" or "Reset" button) and re-entering them. You should reset the settings only if you are sure that you can configure the router yourself.

Also check the status of your network adapter drivers and try updating them.

Video: checking the port on the network card and the WAN port on the router

Additional check of security settings

Security settings can also be blamed for many of these problems. This applies to the case when the PPPoE protocol is used. Therefore, if the proposed operations do not help to solve your case, try checking the connection security settings.

  1. Open the "Network Connections" section.
  2. Right click on your connection.
  3. Open the "Security" section and set the use of "Insecure password" in the list that opens.

These are the main methods for diagnosing connectivity on Windows 7 and troubleshooting. Do not forget that the reason for the absence of the Internet can be a banal debt or an accident on the line. If the methods described above did not help you, contact the provider so that the technical staff can diagnose and solve the problem on their part.

Hello! This error has already been described on our website by my colleague, but it has not yet appeared in this formulation. Yes, and there will be a little more possible solutions here, but everything is in the case without water. So, let's analyze the problem "Unidentified network without access to the Internet." As always, from me are quick solutions, reasons and a complete analysis. I suggest you get started!

The fastest solution

Restart your computer and router! 99% of cases are quickly resolved in this way! This is the first thing to do.

About others possible problems and how to solve them, read more below.

background

Starting with Windows 7, all modern operating systems of the Microsoft family began to “think”, analyze the problems that arise and try to somehow fix them. But what is most remarkable is that when something cannot be eliminated, it tries to show errors that may not even be errors ...

Ed wrapped up. The bottom line is that when there is any problem with the network, and our favorite errors “Unidentified network” and “No Internet access” fly out. It just means that there is some problem with the network. But what, we will find out below.

At the same time, a yellow exclamation mark is shown in the tray at the connection point, and the same cherished phrase appears in the hover tooltip or in the pop-up when clicked.

Next, we begin to analyze possible options for the problem and solutions. Don't forget about the reboot option above - I wasn't joking. But if suddenly you still have some questions or problems, it was not possible to remove the inscription, write about it in the comments, we will figure it out.

Video

I immediately offer a thematic video for those who do not want to read the article for a long time. But I assure you, if you can’t solve the problem in this way, there will be other options below.

Unidentified network

The most common case. Your computer sees the network, tries to work with it. And he physically succeeds. But here in the network exchange device there are several levels of interaction (we read the OSI model of 7 levels in Google). So, if your computer does not receive an IP address, then this error will fly out.

The “Identification” status may also hang for a long time before this - when your system is still trying to get the correct IP for itself.

Why didn't he get an IP address? Under ideal conditions, the router, using its DHCP server and distributes its address to each connected device. But at some point, a failure may occur and the correct addresses (standard - 192.168.x.x) will not be issued. And the computer will try to do it itself and give the wrong ones from the 169.254.x.x pool. In total, the computer and the router are physically connected (whether via an Ethernet or Wi-Fi cable), but are virtually in different networks and do not see each other.

The reboot solution very often helps in this case. Another option is to manually set your network settings so that you never have this problem. But if you suddenly do not understand this at all, it is better not to meddle. There is a risk of doing something wrong.

For advanced users, I offer the following instructions.

  1. We remember the IP address of our router. If you don't know, look at the sticker on the bottom:

  1. Through the "Network Control Center ..." (Windows 7) or "Network and Internet Settings" (Windows 10) we get into the adapter settings. Select your problematic adapter, right-click, "Properties". And then, as per the scheme:

A bit of decoding. My router at home has the address 192.168.0.1. We enter it in the gateway field. The mask is always the same for everyone. But you can try to make the IP address anything, but the third digit (0) should be the same as on the router. "Eights" - we leave it as it is, these are DNS servers from Google, it will come in handy. Total:

IP address: 192.168.0.127
Mask: 255.255.255.0
Gateway: 192.168.0.1
DNS: 8.8.8.8
Alternate DNS: 8.8.4.4

After saving, everything should literally immediately work. Try. If it doesn't work, move on.

The problem "Without access to the network" is treated in the same way.

Just without access to the Internet, the network is recognized

A slightly different case is when the network seems to be recognized and even the Internet can be on some applications like the same Skype. But sites don't load point-blank. And in the type of access hangs "Without access". As a solution, add alternative DNS from the previous section. In this case, the main settings do not need to be changed. The output should look something like this:

Other options

Here I will list other options, if the first cases still did not help, but writes that the network is not recognized. Perhaps something from this list will also help:

  • ISP has a problem. Especially if the connection is not through a router, but directly. If there are any doubts, just call your Provider and consult. It is free and often really helps, and often this is the only way to find out about problems on the side (on the personal experience with native Rostelecom). Especially if everything worked flawlessly the day before.
  • Try to immediately share the problem - do other devices have this or is everything normal there? If the problem is general, then either the provider or the router is to blame. If only on one computer - the trouble is in network settings, and they can be solved by the methods above.
  • Driver problem. Rarely, but aptly. Literally a few times work time I encountered a problem that there are no problems with the driver in the Device Manager, but the device does not work correctly. This is especially evident in the auto-installation by the driver of Windows itself. So if there are doubts about the iron part, try reinstalling everything using the same DRP.su.
  • Same MAC address. Another possible case. Less common, but still worth mentioning. The fact is that manufacturers can issue the same MAC addresses to some of their devices on the stream. At the output, 2 devices, by coincidence, can compete for a place in the sun. Total - one has a connection, the other does not have access to the network. Those who know can easily check the current MACs on all their devices and think about changing them (Device Manager or Technitium MAC Address Changer to help).
  • DHCP server on the router - if possible, go to the router settings and check if it works exactly and if the DHCP server we need is enabled there. It rarely turns off.
  • My internet drops out sometimes with this error one more time interesting reason- there is a signal amplifier, and the laptop periodically reconnects from the router to it, choosing the best signal (relevant for wireless network connection). As a result, the Internet disappears for some time, this status falls out. But everything is solved literally in seconds.

That's all. Once again, the most common cause of an unrecognized network in a LAN connection is getting the wrong network settings.

I'm sure you found something useful in this article..

At least once in their lives, every computer or laptop user has faced the problem of connecting and configuring the Internet on their device. One of these cases is when when you connect an Ethernet cable (network cable) to a PC or connect to a WiFi network, instead of accessing the computer to the Internet, you get the message "Unidentified network", and on the network connection icon, which is located in the panel near the clock, appears yellow triangle with an exclamation mark.

This can happen both when you first connect to the network, and after restarting a laptop or PC, and even on computers with just installed system Windows.

The reasons for the appearance of the problem are different and further we will consider ways to solve them.

Incorrect network card settings - IP address problem

Occurs if the network card was manually assigned an IP address and when connecting to a new network, it cannot get another one. To check this, follow these steps:

Step 1 Open the START menu and select Control Panel

Step 2 Find a program Network and Sharing Center and run it

Step 3 In the window that opens, in the left pane, select Change adapter settings

Step 4 Now select network connection through which you are trying to access the Internet, right-click on it and select Properties from the context menu

Step 5 In the connection properties window, select Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4) and click on the Properties button below

Step 6 Check the specified parameters in the window that opens:

  • if you are connecting to a WiFi network or using an Ethernet cable from a router, then check the boxes for automatic receipt so that the computer can receive a new address
  • if you connected the Internet cable directly to the computer, bypassing wifi router, and your provider provides access to the Internet bound by IP address - check the specified parameters (IP address, gateway and DNS server addresses), you can see them in the contract or contact the provider's technical support

Problems with the TCP/IP protocol

Occurs when they appear internal errors TCP/IP, which requires a protocol reset.

Step 1 Run the program Command line (cmd.exe) as administrator

Step 2 Enter the command: netsh int ip reset resetlog.txt and press Enter

Step 3 Restart your computer

Network card drivers

Occurs when after installation Windows drivers for a network card, the OS itself automatically installs it or you use the assembly of drivers ( driver pack). Often this problem appears on laptops and in order to fix it, you need to install drivers from the official website of the manufacturer of the laptop or network card of the computer.

Problems with DHCP

It most often occurs when you first connect an Internet or LAN cable to a laptop or computer. To check this, open a command prompt and enter the command: ipconfig

If in the IP address or default gateway line you see an address with the following content: 169.254.x.x- it means that the system could not obtain an IP address automatically and the problem lies precisely in DHCP.

In this case, do the following steps:

Step 1 Open Dispatcher Windows devices . To do this, press the key combination Win + R on the keyboard and in the window that appears, enter the command: devmgmt.msc

Step 2 Find the network adapter through which you are trying to connect to the Internet, right-click on it and select Properties

Step 3 In the window that opens, go to the Advanced tab

Step 4 Select an option Network Address / Locally Administered Address and in the field Meaning enter 12 characters (use numbers from 0 to 9 and letters from A to F), then press the OK button

Step 5 Go back to the program Command line and enter the following values:

ipconfig /release
ipconfig /renew

Step 6 Restart your computer and check if the error is resolved Launch type select Disabled from the drop-down menu, and in the section State click the Stop button

Step 5 Now click OK and restart your computer

We hope that at least one of the tips presented will help you fix the problem with an unidentified network on your computer or laptop.
