How to disassemble a laptop? Instructions for disassembling your laptop yourself. How to disassemble and clean any laptop yourself

They brought an ASUS Eee PC 1201HA netbook with the diagnosis that it won’t turn on. Or rather, the LED lights up, but the screen does not light up. The disk seems to rustle. This means that this is the most common fault in laptops.

Broken monitor cable. For one opportunity to clean the ventilation of the ASUS Eee PC 1201HA netbook from dust and other bad excesses, if the netbook began to heat up more than usual. It’s better to do it in time so as not to end up with expensive repairs.

Disassembling a laptop or netbook begins with disconnecting it from power. Disconnect the power adapter and battery, and we actually start disassembling.

We unscrew the 8 screws from the bottom of the netbook, then turn the ASUS Eee PC 1201HA over to its original position.

First, remove the keyboard as in the first photo, alternately lifting it and alternately moving the 4 latches with a suitable tool. Under the keyboard we find 10 screws that need to be unscrewed, and one touchpad cable. Don't forget to disconnect the keyboard cable.

Then, using special equipment or something suitable at hand, for example, a guitar pick, a plastic card, or a guitar pick, we separate the body into two halves.

Behind

We unscrew the screws that secure the motherboard of the ASUS netbook to the case, disconnect the cables in the photo, remove the case part that closes the left hinge and then remove the motherboard itself together with the fan, lifting it by the right edge.

Actually, we need to check the monitor cable; to do this, carefully release it from under the matrix.

Screen fasteners

To remove the cable, you need to slowly and carefully peel off the shielding

Here is the cable 1201_lvds_cable (ASUS Eee PC 1201HAB 1201 LVDS CABLE LCD Video Cable 1422-00MN000) and it costs much more than the other $60.

Now you can ring the loop for a break. I ended up with 4 broken wires. If you buy, then wait 3 weeks, and the repairs will cost a pretty penny. So I decided to try to restore the cable. It breaks where it bends. Next to the fasteners, we cover them with 4 wires and look for them by color. The only question is where to get such tiny wires. My wires turned out to be a bit thick, but they still fit into the hole. Of course, the question remains about the condition of the other wires. You will have to close the lid less often.

At the same time, we’ll clean the dust from the fan, carefully clean everything and reassemble it in the reverse order.

Are the instructions suitable? to disassemble the ASUS Eee PC 1201T netbook and others.

Laptop – convenient mobile device with its own advantages and disadvantages. In order to perform any actions inside the case, for example, replace HDD and/or RAM, clean it from dust, you have to completely or partially dismantle it. Next, let's talk about how to disassemble a laptop at home.

All laptops are disassembled in approximately the same way, that is, they have identical components that require dismantling. In this shot we will be working with a model from Acer. Keep in mind that this operation will immediately void your right to receive warranty service, so if the machine is under warranty, it is better to take it to service center.

The whole procedure basically boils down to unscrewing a large number of mounting screws of different calibers, so it is better to prepare some kind of container for storing them in advance. Even better is a box with several compartments.

Battery

The most important thing to remember when disassembling any laptop is to always disconnect the battery. If this is not done, there is a risk of a short circuit on very sensitive elements of the board. This will inevitably lead to their failure and costly repairs.

Cooling system

Disassembly is complete, now you can clean the laptop and cooler from dust and change the thermal paste. Such actions must be performed in case of overheating and related problems associated with it.

Instructions

A laptop is a more complex and compact system than a conventional computer tower and when disassembling it you need to be very careful not to break the device and make it unusable. The analysis should begin with a thorough external examination. Turn the bottom upside down. On the bottom you will see covers under which various peripheral modules will be hidden - RAM, hard drive, Wi-Fi module and others. The first step is to remove the battery. Even if you have previously disconnected the laptop from the network, many of its components may be energized. Remove all the screws you can see, but be careful not to lose sight of the screws hidden under the module covers and battery.

Now you need to remove all devices. The hard drive is usually removed by sliding it away from the connector. Some discs may have a special tab that makes this task easier. The next step is to remove the disk drive; its fastening screws are located on the bottom, but in some cases it may have additional fastenings underneath, and then you will have to wait a little while removing the drive. Disconnect the power cables of the processor cooler and Wi-Fi module, remove the cooler. The need to periodically clean the cooler from dust may arise even if you work in a clean, ventilated area. You will be surprised at the layer of dust that has accumulated on the fan. If the cooler was your goal, then after cleaning it, you should reassemble the laptop in the reverse order of disassembly.

But this does not always help; sometimes there is a need to clean the radiator and update the thermal paste on the processor chip. Unscrew the radiator mounting screws. Usually the radiator is secured with 4 screws and one of them is hidden under the warranty sticker. If the old thermal paste has dried out, it may take a little force to separate the heatsink from the processor, but remember, caution is everything, brute force can completely destroy your computer. At this point, you can finish working with the bottom and turn the laptop over to its normal position. All other mounting screws are located under the keyboard, in different laptops The keyboard is removed in different ways, but upon careful inspection, you can find grooves and latches in all of them, which can be used to remove the keyboard from the laptop. Disconnect the keyboard cable. If you set out to get to the matrix, you will need to remove the top cover of the laptop. Don't forget to disconnect the matrix cable before doing this. Inspect the laptop for hidden screws and unscrew them. Remove its top cover. The matrix itself is attached to the housing using screws; upon dismantling, access to the inverter also becomes possible.

To remove the display, you need to remove the plugs located around the perimeter of the screen, unscrew the screws underneath them and, with gentle force, remove the frame from the display. By folding the cable, you can easily remove the display matrix from the laptop. The extent to which you disassemble your laptop will depend on your ultimate goals, but remember, you must know exactly why you are disassembling it. If you are not confident in your abilities, then it is better to contact a special repair service; the specialists working there will cope with the disassembly much faster and better, and most importantly, they will not harm the computer due to the lack of necessary experience.

A laptop is one of the most convenient and indispensable tools when working. With its help, you can carry out many different operations, from filling out documents and preparing educational materials to watching your favorite movies and listening to music. During long-term use and lack of proper care, a large amount of dust and dirt accumulates on the surface.

Crumbs and other food particles may remain inside the cabinet. Such contamination significantly reduces the performance of the device. In order to carry out proper and complete cleaning of external and internal parts, the laptop needs to be disassembled. The process should be carried out in compliance with several rules and recommendations described in detail in this article.

This question is one of the most important and relevant for every user. A laptop has a more complex design compared to a desktop computer. If there is a large accumulation of dust or severe overheating of internal parts system unit easy to disassemble and clean. A portable device has a different layout of components than a home appliance, making the process more complex.

In the absence of the necessary skills and knowledge, it is possible to perform an independent autopsy in some cases. For example, the inner surface is clogged with dust or crumbs. In most cases, this leads to a slight overheating of the system and jamming of the keyboard buttons. In this case, you can handle the cleansing process yourself, without the help of specialists.

In most situations, deterioration in performance and regular overheating are associated with the need to replace thermal paste, and sometimes the cooling system. It is quite difficult to cope with such a process on your own without the required skill. The best option will contact the service center. The company's specialists will carry out full diagnostics, repair work and replacement of necessary parts.

It is recommended to take similar actions in case of accidental damage to the keyboard. During use, this laptop component may be damaged by spilled liquid or fallen food. Many models cannot be cleaned and require complete removal and replacement of buttons. In this case, it is better to entrust the work to professionals.

Note: It should be remembered that if the user opens the device casing independently, the user will lose the warranty from the manufacturer. In the event of accidental damage to any component, the owner will have to pay for replacement and repairs.

Self-disassembly instructions

The process of opening and disassembling is carried out in several stages. First of all, it is necessary to prepare the required tools and materials needed for work.

Preparation:

  • laptop;
  • crosshead screwdriver;
  • napkins;
  • small capacity;
  • paper;
  • marker or pen.

Disassembly must be carried out on a flat, hard surface in a well-lit room. A desk located by the window would be a suitable choice.

Reference: Please note that the disassembly process on some models may differ from that described. In most cases it depends on the manufacturer. For proper operation, you should carefully read the attached instructions.

At the initial stage, you will need to disconnect the device from the power supply and wait until it turns off completely. Laptop turns over after shutdown rear panel up, placed on the desk. Using a thin Phillips screwdriver, unscrew the bolts holding the back cover. The bolts themselves can be placed in a small container prepared in advance. This will help you avoid losing the necessary components.

After removing the back panel, remove the battery. This will help completely de-energize the household appliance. To remove it, you will need to pull the button to the side and carefully remove the battery.

The next step is to extract hard drive And random access memory. They are protected by special covers that hold bolts on four (sometimes two) sides. There are several important points to consider when disassembling. Many manufacturers install a kind of protection - rings located on the inside of the lid. This eliminates the possibility of completely unscrewing the bolts. Such protection will protect the owner from accidental loss. In another case, you may encounter the location of the same bolts on both covers. With this design, the hard drive protection elements also hold the RAM cover. In this case, you will need to unscrew all the bolts at once, and the covers are removed at the same time.

Once the retaining components are removed and the covers are removed, you can remove the drive and RAM. The disk should be directed away from the connector with a slight movement, and then carefully pulled up. The RAM is held in place using special latches. To remove it, you will need to carefully move these latches to the sides and pull out the RAM card. After removing the RAM, the memory bar will rise. Its elimination takes place without any obstacles.

Attention: The clamps should be moved apart at the same time.

After removing the memory stick, you can remove the WI-FI module. To do this, carefully pull the contacts out of the retaining grooves and unscrew the bolts. After carrying out the necessary manipulations, the board can be pulled out.

At this point, you can begin to completely remove all the bolts holding both halves of the laptop. Here you should carefully examine the surface of the device, since many elements can be hidden and placed under legs or stickers. Without a complete inspection, elements may become torn off, requiring re-bonding. If the integrity of the nuts, bolts or stickers is damaged, the laptop will automatically be voided from warranty.

The body itself is held in place with special clamps or clothespins. Such latches are not resistant to damage. If done carelessly, it is very easy to break them. To simplify the process, the surface of the case can be slightly pryed with a thin screwdriver, and then open all the clamps.

Important: Care must be taken when operating to avoid possible damage or breakage of the housing.

After disassembling the case, you should remove all the buttons, pull out the contacts and wires. If it is necessary to remove the monitor, both cables are also pulled out. The monitor itself can be mounted on one or two bolts, which can be removed with a screwdriver. Some manufacturers mount the monitor with three bolts located on both sides.

Under the monitor is the motherboard, which is also secured with bolts. After unscrewing them, the board can be pulled out. WITH reverse side The cooling system is located on the board. The fan is removed after removing the retaining elements.

At the end of the process, it is recommended to thoroughly wipe all components of the disassembled laptop with napkins to remove accumulated dust and dirt.

Basic Safety Precautions

  1. It is recommended to record each step of the technological process (disassembly) with a camera or mobile phone. During assembly, many users encounter remaining fastening elements. A photo of each process will help avoid the situation.
  2. Paper and pen will help you remember the exact purpose of each bolt. Elements in each case may differ, have different shapes and sizes. Fasteners can be placed by category and their purpose can be labeled.
  3. Caution and accuracy are one of the important requirements when disassembling a household device. The covers must not be pulled; the surface itself must be carefully checked for hidden fasteners before removal. If the surface does not lift, the housing should be completely inspected to determine the problem.
  4. Plastic parts have a fragile structure. When removing plastic, avoid scratches and cracks. If possible, it is advisable to carry out the work without using a screwdriver.

Conclusion

The laptop is more portable than the usual personal computer. If necessary, you can take the device with you on a trip, to work or study. Over time, the body and inner surface become dirty, which causes a decrease in performance. If you follow all the recommendations and rules, you can disassemble and clean the laptop yourself at home.
