A program to automatically disable unnecessary services. How to remove unnecessary processes from startup

If you want your computer to run a little faster, you need to keep an eye on the RAM. The more free volume it has, the faster the operations and various other actions that the user does. It should be remembered that not only downloaded programs and open tabs browser. This includes all background processes, running services, and files reserved by closed utilities.

Now let's talk about shutdown. unnecessary services in Windows, and use a special program for this.

Easy Service Optimizer free program in Russian, using which even an inexperienced user will be able to manage services in operating system. The interface is very simple. The utility is portable, so you do not need to install it on your computer. Compatible with Windows XP, Vista, 7, 8, 8.1, 10.

You can download Easy Service Optimizer from the link at the bottom of the article from Yandex Disk. After that, open the Downloads folder on your computer and run the "eso" archive.

Extract the archived folder to any convenient location on your computer.

You can also download Easy Service Optimizer from the official website. To do this, go to their page (in the screenshot below, the address is circled with a rectangle). You will find a download button called "Download" at the end of the article before the recommended entries and comments.

After extracting the "eso" folder from the archive, open it and run the file with the same name, opposite which will be written "Application".

If your interface language is selected by default (English), then click on the “Options” - “Languages” tab and select the one you need from the list.

Now let's look at how to use the program. The main window of the program will display a list of services that can be optimized. Opposite each, you can check or uncheck the box, this must be done, since the application installed settings and restoration is applied only to those marked with a bird.

It is signed at the top, which is displayed in the columns. At the bottom there are four tabs with modes. Of these, you need to choose the right one. When they are changed, the data in the column changes. "Type of application". So "By default" many services are started by the user manually or automatically, but if you select "Extreme", then almost all of them will be disabled.

You do not need to disable all services in a row, as this can lead to system malfunctions.

You can view a list of all Windows services by clicking on the button with two gears at the top.

In the program window, any of them can be edited: select it with the mouse and press the button "Edit…" up.

A window with basic information will open. At the bottom, you can set a specific launch type for each mode separately. Save changes by clicking OK.

If you understand a little what the service does, then you can select it and disable or start using the appropriate buttons.

After choosing the appropriate mode: "Safe", "Optimal", "Extreme", and mark the required fields, you can proceed to apply the settings by clicking on the button with the image of a rocket. After that, the selected services will either be disabled or started.

Since not all services are added to the list, you can do it yourself. To do this, open them all by clicking on the button with two gears, double-click on the one you need and look at its name.

Now we return to the program window again and click on the button at the top "Add New". Then enter the name that you remember, the rest of the information will be filled in automatically. Specify launch types for modes and click "Add".

To remove a service from the list, select it and click at the top "Delete Selected".

Please note that the service itself will not be deleted, it will simply disappear from the displayed list for optimization in the program. You can add it at any time using the method described above.

In order to return all settings to default, you need to click on the "Services" tab and select "Reset List".

Pick a location on your computer and name it so you can understand. In the "File type" field, leave everything as it is. Click "Save".

So you can create multiple files with various settings. To select one of them, open "File" - "Open" and click on the desired item. Next, click on the rocket icon to apply the settings to the marked services.

After disabling unnecessary services, the computer will start to work faster, this will be especially noticeable on those PCs where RAM strips with a small amount of memory are installed. Therefore, download the program Easy Service Optimizer, and it will help you solve this problem.

If your computer is running slowly and space hard drive overloaded, clear it of extra programs and components, and disable unnecessary processes and services. This can be done using standard Windows tools or using third-party programs.

Where do extra programs come from?

What programs and processes in Windows 7 can be removed

Windows 7 has three categories of data that boots the system - programs, processes, and services. The program is installed on the computer to perform the function required by the user. The process can be systemic, necessary for the correct Windows work 7, and user, launched with the program. Services in the system are started by default and disabled through "Computer Management".

How to Erase Programs and Stop Processes on Windows 7

You can remove utilities and stop processes in several ways: through the Start menu, using the Control Panel and Task Manager, as well as using specially designed programs.

How to uninstall programs and disable services from the start menu

By opening the "Start", you can view the list of programs and remove some:

The disadvantage of this method is that after deleting the program by means of Windows, its files and residual entries in the registry are saved.

You can also stop services from the Start menu. For this:

Do not disable all services in a row - some of them are responsible for the correct operation of Windows.

How to stop processes through the "Task Manager"

To stop processes running by Windows, launch the Task Manager by pressing Ctrl+Alt+Del.

When you restart your computer, some processes and services start automatically. Therefore, for a permanent shutdown, remove the program using the process from autorun (“Task Manager”, tab “Autostart”) and disable the corresponding service.

The "Startup" tab displays full list programs that start automatically when you start Windows 7. Select the programs that you do not need open, and uncheck the boxes next to them, and then click OK. After rebooting the computer, autorun will be disabled.

Other Options for Removing Unused Programs

Almost all installers offer users to select a folder where the program files will be placed. By default, they install to the C:\Program files folder. When you open the folder, you will see folders with software. To uninstall the program directly:

  1. Go to the folder of the utility you will be erasing.
  2. Inside, find the Uninstall.exe file.

  1. Go to command line. To do this, press Win+R and type cmd in the Run box. Click OK.
  2. Write the WMIC command and press the Enter key. You will see the inscription: wmic: root\cli.
  3. Write a product get name request. After a while you will see a list installed programs.
  4. Write: product where name = "name of the program exactly" call uninstall. Be case sensitive when writing the program name. If the name is entered incorrectly, by pressing the Enter key, you will notice the error information.
  5. Press "Y" to confirm the procedure and wait for the inscription Method Execution successful.

Third-party programs to remove unnecessary files

Using Windows tools, it is difficult to erase a program without tails. And developers come up with third party applications- uninstallers. Instructions for working with some of them are given below.

PC Decrapifier

  1. Click "Check for updates".
  2. In the window that opens, you will see the question "Are you using new computer"? Answer without embellishment.
  3. Create a label for Windows Recovery and click "Next".
  4. The program will execute automatic search unused applications and will present them as a list.
  5. Check the boxes for the programs to remove and click the Remove button.
  6. PC Decrapifier will prompt you to manually uninstall other programs. Execute as needed.
  7. In the last window, uncheck the Submit feedback box and click Finish.

PC Decrapifier copes well with third-party software, toolbars and applications imposed when loading other programs.

CCleaner - comprehensive cleaning

The program cleans hard disk space and the Windows registry. Functionality is provided to control startup and remove previously installed software. Additional functionality is located in the "Service" menu.

CCleaner finds more installed apps than the standard Windows 7 uninstaller. And after uninstallation, it “cleans up” residual files and registry entries. To uninstall a program:

  1. Launch CCleaner.
  2. Select "Service" on the left.
  3. Find the sub-item "Uninstall programs".
  4. Select the program to uninstall from the list and click Uninstall. The "Delete" button is required to remove the name of the utility only from the list - it will not be possible to uninstall the application from the PC using it.

To disable/enable startup programs:

  1. Information about programs that start automatically with Windows will open.
  2. Highlight the program for which you want to disable autoload, and click "Turn off".

CCleaner allows you to manage startup not only for Windows, but also for browser add-ons.

As I pointed out earlier, there are processes that should never be touched. These include:

In addition, there are additional products, the launch of which is carried out manually. Therefore, you should not touch them, since they are not always active.

Personal experience( )

Previously, when I had a computer with poor performance, I tried in every possible way to speed it up. And one of the methods was just disabling services. It so happened that when I did this, there were no such descriptions, and therefore each action took place at my own peril and risk.

I really managed to unload some processes without problems. But unfortunately, one of them turned out to be important. I lost my user with all settings. Fortunately, the day before I created a new one. From which he worked in the future. I'm lucky. Otherwise, I could lose important information to me, since I would simply have to reinstall the OS.

Well, there are many services in Windows 7, each with its own functionality. If you have weak computer or netbook - it is better to try the above method. Otherwise, leave everything as it is. This will help to avoid possible problems in future. If, after unloading the tool, some applications do not start for you, try to return everything as it was. In the case when this is not possible, restore the system or completely reinstall the OS.

I think everyone knows the feeling of hopelessness when time is running out, deadlines are burning, and the computer, slowly, is thinking about the next move. We are nervous, desperately trying to identify a very harmful virus, but all in vain. What to do in such a situation?

Of course, virus scanning and disk defragmentation are necessary procedures, but there are more significant reasons for low system productivity. And such a reason is background applications. Getting rid of them, you can forget about the endlessly "thinking" computer and pop-up windows for a long time.

What are background apps

A very common occurrence is an incredible accumulation of all kinds of shortcuts on the desktop, the next destination is the system configuration in the Startup tab of the Start menu. There are even more icons here, and each represents either an active program or an application running in background.

Background programs in windows 7 start automatically when the system starts, and sometimes we don’t even suspect that up to two dozen programs are running in the background, which we have never heard of. As a rule, these are useful utilities, antiviruses, various download managers, etc., which enter the system as a free load in addition to programs that we install ourselves or download from the network. The low performance of the system is due to the fact that background files consume a lot of memory. The problem is solved quite simply - disable unnecessary applications and services.

Ways to identify and remove background programs

The methods described above are simple and accessible to everyone, with their help you will free RAM your machine and significantly increase its productivity.

Disable programs running in the background

In this article, I continue the topic of optimizing your computer, today we will stop some programs running in the background to speed up and speed up your PC.

In the last lesson, we disabled programs from startup (if you have not read this lesson, I advise you to start with it, the link is at the end of this article), thereby increasing performance, and now we will disable windows services running in the background.

Any of these services can be either system or third-party, but they all eat up their small part of the system resources, given that there are several dozen of them, the load increases noticeably.

Of course, in most cases, system programs running in the background are needed to normal operation computer, but there are some that are not needed at all and are unlikely to be needed by anyone.

When shutting down on your own, you need to be extremely careful, disabling any process, you need to know for what it is responsible so as not to harm the OS. Below I will give a small list of what can be excluded and what to put in manual mode.

What programs can be disabled?

To do this, you need to enter the Service Management by clicking right click mouse on the shortcut my computer, which is located on your desktop or in the start menu, select the item computer. In the menu that appears, select Manage

then click on Services and Applications and the last item Services. Here you can see all the necessary unnecessary programs working in the background, in total, I have accumulated more than 150 of them!

First of all, I advise you to look through the entire list and find some of the familiar programs that you may have installed and simply disable them.

Read also: How to make mobile version site

For example: µTorrent or BitComet torrent clients can be safely disabled, unless of course you don’t distribute any files day and night. Skype program(Skype) if you call once a month, then why would he absorb daily resources for nothing?

Also with other programs, if there is no need for its every minute work, feel free to stop it. In no case do not confuse, disabling the program does not imply that it will not work in the future! When you need it, just launch it from the shortcut, as you usually do.

The background mode is a standby mode, that is, the program is always running, although it is not used.

And finally, the list I promised windows services which can be turned off for sure or switched to manual mode.

Parental Control - turn off KtmRm for the distributed transaction coordinator - manually Adaptive adjustment - turn off the brightness is necessary only for PC owners. with a built-in light sensor to automatically adjust the brightness of the monitor WWAN auto setup - disable if you do not have CDMA or GSM modules Windows firewall - disable if your antivirus has this service Computer browser - manually translate when not in use local network Auxiliary service IP (Support IP Service) - disable Secondary logon - disable or manually Remote access automatic connection manager - disable or manually Print Manager - disable if you do not use the printer windows defender- disable the completely unnecessary service Distributed Transaction Coordinator - disable the NetBIOS Support Module - disable, but provided that there is no local network (combining from 2 computers or more) Configuring the Remote Desktop Server - disable the Bluetooth Support Service - disable, I do not think that it is relevant now. Download Service windows images(WIA) - if you use a scanner, then do not touch anything. windows control- disable Remote Desktop Service - disable Smartcard - disable Tablet PC Input Service - disable Remote Registry - everything is bad here, there is an opinion that this is a kind of open door for a virus that can change the system registry. Definitely turn off Fax - turn off, in general, the last century.

To disable the service, double-click on it with the left mouse button, a window will open where we change the Startup type value from Automatic to Disabled then Stop / / Apply / / OK. This is how we deal with every service we don't like.

This is the list of services that I was able to find out about, I will be glad if someone can add it in the comments to this article.

This concludes this article, but the topic of optimization should be continued, subscribe to updates so as not to miss it and other subsequent articles.

Close background programs

close background programs on a computer in several ways. But since you are on a blog for novice computer users, I will show you the easiest one. Everything is outrageously simple, for this we use the "My Computer" icon in the operating system windows XP, and"Computer" in the seven.

Hover over the icon and RMB open the "Management" item, where after opening the "Computer Management" window on its left side, open "Services and Applications". By double-clicking on the “Services” item in the middle part of the window, we are waiting for the list of background programs available in the operating system of your computer to load. After reviewing the entire list and guided by the knowledge gleaned from the Internet, you can stop some of them.

How to close background programs

To stop the application you have selected, hover over it and click the stop button. This method has another useful for novice users option "Description" of the application. In order to use it and not accidentally stop desired service you need to click on it LMB. On the left you can get information about what you are going to close.

Thus, it seems to me that it will not be difficult for you to close background programs. And if you want more full information about windows background programs, then this can be done simply by clicking on the link.

background programs. Why are you needed and how to get rid of unnecessary

Background applications/processes are those that run in the background (hidden from the user) mode.

Some of them are not used by the user, consuming, nevertheless, system resources and, accordingly, reducing the efficiency of equipment use, some simply litter the taskbar, desktop and list of installed programs.

Some of these programs are various services that are started by the operating system. Due to its versatility, the operating system launches a large number of applications, some of which you will never need specifically. In addition, some of background applications, in turn launch their background applications, such as MS Office. Removing applications you don't use will help speed up system startup and offload computing power.

2.3 Via Msconfig (SCU)

4. Bring the device in service center for repairs

1. Main types of background applications

View running applications possible in the panel windows tasks. As a rule, these are various download managers, antiviruses, "daemons", "wizards", and other useful and not very useful utilities. Those that are “not very” get on your machine in different ways: in the “appendage” to files downloaded from the Internet, during installation various programs the default method, etc. Spending a few minutes disabling unnecessary applications and services can improve the performance of your hardware. Background services compete with user tasks for memory, increasing the number of page file accesses, thus reducing the efficiency of the entire system.

2. Ways to detect and remove background processes

To view a list of applications that start automatically, click "Start" - All Programs - Startup.

“Honest” programs are reflected here, you can remove them from startup with the right key - “delete”, while the program itself is NOT deleted, it just stops loading automatically when windows starts. Other background programs are “hiding”, and we need to be able to look for them.

Pay attention to your computer's taskbar (usually) lower right corner. There are shortcuts for programs that started by default.

In this case, we see the uTorrent download manager, 2GIS update agent, Skype, disk emulator DAEMON Tools lite and others.

Fig.2. List of programs in the taskbar

The programs that we see in the taskbar can be unloaded by pressing the right key:

Fig.3. Shutting down (unloading) programs

Note: when using the Exit button, the exited process starts again when windows is restarted. If it needs to be disabled permanently, use msconfig, regedir.

2.2 Using the task manager (ctrl+alt+del)

By launching the windows task manager (by pressing Ctrl+Alt+Delete), you can look at the list of background services. windows distinguishes between user applications and system services. On the Applications tab, you can see running programs, on the tab "Processes" a list of system services and application components.

Fig.4. Task Manager, Applications tab

The End task button can be used to kill a program or process

In the Processes list, you can see the same programs that we saw on the taskbar and not only. For example, the explorer.exe component is the familiar windows explorer, and iexplore.exe is the Internet Explorer browser.

Fig.5. Task Manager, Processes tab

Modules you do not need can be removed by clicking the "End Process" button. You can safely delete processes:

Internat.exe - keyboard layout indicator;

System Tray (systray.exe) - a program that generates icons in system area Taskbars.

Note: the unloaded process starts again when windows is restarted. If it needs to be disabled permanently, use msconfig or regedir.

2.3 Via MSCONFIG (SCU)

On windows, there is special utility"System Settings" (System Configuration Utility, SCU). It can be launched by specifying MSCONFIG in the Start -> Run program launcher. It is simple and easy to use and allows you to manage the applications you launch. The utility contains several tabs that allow users to change OS startup options.

Programs, the list of which we see in the SCU, are deleted there. SCU, allows you to experimentally significantly increase system performance and remove all unnecessary. Once you find a program you don't want, you can remove it from the download list in the SCU panel.

Fig.6. SCU Utility (MSCONFIG)

2.4 Through windows registry(regedit)

Programs that are registered in the system registry at boot can be removed using the REGEDIT program (shortcut win + r, regedit.exe command). As always, before making major changes to the system, we make a backup and, as always, we do this only when we are completely confident in our abilities. Most often, such programs are located in the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\windows\CurrentVersion\Run branch. Removal from the program is carried out by deleting the corresponding registry line.

Unfortunately, not all programs can be removed using the methods listed above. Microsoft won't let you uninstall like this, like windows messenger. This rather useless program is installed by default and is not visible in the Add/Remove Programs dialog of the Control Panel. If you want to remove one of these programs, you will have to edit the SYSOC.INF file, which is located in C:\WINDOWS\INF by default. To do this, we first find the header, which contains options for loading various windows components. Those that contain the "hide" parameter are not visible in the Add/Remove Programs panel, for example, msmsgs=msgrocm.dll,OcEntry,msmsgs.inf,hide,7 in the case of Messenger, after removing this parameter, the component becomes visible in the installation panel and removal of programs.

3. Background services, pages and other processes

In addition to background applications and processes, there are also background pages, services, etc., but we will talk about them next time.

itprofi.in.ua

Closing background programs

Windows background programs have their own positive and negative sides. But having a computer in its arsenal medium power These applications annoy us more than they please. Take at least a long loading of the operating windows systems which is due to the large number of programs launched at startup. Therefore, the purpose of the lesson on our website about making money in the section all about computers is aimed at obtaining information about closing background programs.

There are several ways to close background windows programs. In order to get information about them, you can go along the path: Start -> All Programs -> Accessories -> Run - msconfig, after which we get into this window, where we select the “Services” item in which a list of applications opens, both working and stopped.

After going through this list, you can dial a dozen more unnecessary to you, which I recommend stopping. To do this, you need to "uncheck" the name of the application and click the "Apply" and "OK" buttons. I don’t promise that after a reboot your OS runs like a “hare”, but visible improvements will appear. Because with the stop of a large number of services we do not need, we free up RAM, a sufficient amount of which has a positive effect on the performance of the OS.

The next way to view background programs running on your computer is to log in through Computer Management. To do this, hover the cursor over the "My Computer" icon and right-click on the "Management" item. Having found the line “Services” in the left column, click to open it and wait for the display of all applications running in the background to load.

This method is good because here we have the opportunity to obtain information on any of these programs. To do this, you just need to click on it with LMB and read "Description" in the left column. And in order to "Disable" the service, you need to open it with the right button under the menu and select the appropriate item.

Here are two simple ways to close background programs that interfere with the normal functioning of our computer. If the information is useful to you: “How to find out if the phone is being tapped”, then you can get it simply by clicking on the link.

If your operating system takes a very long time to load when you turn on the computer, then the point is in those programs that open automatically. A whole bunch of applications run at the same time. This significantly slows down the computer. So you need to disable automatic start applications. We will consider the most popular methods for various systems.

Autorun programs in Windows 7. MSConfig utility.

This method is very simple. Go to the start menu. Next, enter msconfig in the search bar. Open the first (and only) result.

Here you see a huge list of applications. And they all run on boot. Review the entire list carefully. Uncheck those utilities that you do not need at startup. Then save changes made and be sure to restart your computer. The OS should boot many times faster.

Tip: if you accidentally disabled some necessary utility, don't worry! Just go back and check the boxes in the right place.

How to disable autorun through the registry?

This is the hardest way. It is better not to do anything in the registry, as you can disrupt the computer if you do something wrong. So, open the Start menu. Below, in the search bar, type regedit.

Then find the two Run sections. On the screenshot you can see full paths. One of them is responsible for automatic start for current user and the other is for all users.

Go there and just remove the components of those utilities that you don't need.

Programs to disable autorun

There is a utility Autoruns, it is quite powerful. In it you can find absolutely all applications that start at boot.

You can download it from this official site: https://download.sysinternals.com/files/Autoruns.zip.

Then unzip the archive and run the utility. This is how it looks like:

Go to the Everything tab. This means that programs are collected there that automatically open on your computer. After, uncheck the boxes next to those that you want to disable at startup.

CCleaner utility.

This utility is convenient in that, in addition to disabling autorun, it can also remove any garbage from the computer, making it even more productive.

You can download it from this site: http://ccleaner.org.ua/download.

Select necessary installation. If you do not know which one to choose, then choose the first one.

Disable unnecessary utilities and they won't bother you the next time you start.

In this way, you can easily and simply disable any program from autorun. The following methods will be covered for other versions of Windows.

How to disable autorun programs in Windows 8

Through the system partition.

Hold down keys such as Win + R.

A window like this will open. Type shell:startup, then click OK.

This is where the applications of the current user are stored.

And if you want to open to all users, then enter shell: common startup.

Now just click on any of the folders you don't need at startup and delete it.

Via Task Manager

In the following versions of operating systems, automatic startup is not in the MSConfig utility, but in the Task Manager. Call the context menu on the control panel with the mouse and select the item you need.

Select unnecessary application and click on the "Disable" button.

How to disable autorun programs in Windows 10

For this operating system, those methods that are listed for version 8 are suitable. Even the location of the folders in the registry is the same.

Tip: use any means other than the registry. It stores important data that is very easy to damage. If you are bad at the registry, it is better not to even go there.

Thus, now no unnecessary applications will interfere with the boot of the computer. Just do not disable all the utilities in a row. Of these, some are extremely important for the full operation of the computer.
