Tasks

Although mobile devices are gradually replacing desktop PCs, as evidenced by statistics, desktop computers are still popular with some categories of users:

  • educational institutions;
  • gamers;
  • video editing experts.

For the former, the affordable cost and “stationarity” of devices (they are more difficult to steal) are important, the rest prefer desktop PCs because they provide more performance at a lower cost. Moreover, games and video rendering require equally powerful devices.

At the same time, not every user is ready to purchase computer components and assemble a PC from them, after which it will need to be configured. It takes time, effort and certain knowledge. Therefore, in some cases it is easier to purchase a ready-made system unit.

When choosing a suitable system unit for your home, you need to decide on the tasks for which it is bought. They can be divided into three large groups:

  • games/video processing;
  • surfing the Internet / working with documents;
  • education.

Depending on the goals set, the system unit is selected in terms of power and performance.

Monoblocks are not taken into account in our rating. This is a separate category of computers that have greater performance than laptops, but also a higher price. In addition, they are still inferior to desktop PCs in terms of power and price.

Characteristics

We assume that when buying a ready-made system unit in the future, you will not change its components yourself. Therefore, we will not describe in detail all the characteristics of the components that are important to know when assembling the device yourself.

When buying a ready-made system unit, you also need to pay attention to the characteristics of the components that are used in it.

Sellers do not always indicate the manufacturers of components in the description of the system units, so it is impossible to understand how high quality they are.

CPU

The processor is the heart of any computing digital device. It determines the performance of the PC as a whole. The system units use processors from two companies, Intel and AMD. The former are more productive, the latter are cheaper. More information on how to choose them is written in the article "".

Most important parameters processor when buying a system unit:

  • manufacturer;
  • Number of Cores;
  • clock frequency.

video card

It can be discrete or built into the processor. It all depends on the purpose for which the system unit is purchased. When using a PC to surf the Internet or use various simple programs and office applications, the graphics core built into the central processor is suitable. If you are buying a computer for gaming or video processing, you need it to come with a discrete graphics card.

There are many manufacturers of discrete graphics cards (MSI, Asus, Palit, Gigabyte and others), but there are two families of graphics processors: NVIDIA and AMD (Radeon). More productive video cards are NVIDIA, but their price is higher. The top-end solution to date is the GeForce GTX 1080.

If you find out the manufacturer and type graphics chip fail, pay attention to following parameters video cards:

  • amount and type of memory;
  • memory and GPU frequency;
  • bit depth of the memory bus;
  • monitor connectors.

The higher these parameters, the more productive and powerful the video card.

RAM

Details on how to choose RAM, written in the article "". When buying a ready-made system unit, pay attention to the main RAM parameters:

  • volume and type;
  • frequency;
  • timings.

As for manufacturers and the availability of cooling radiators, it will be difficult to find out these parameters when buying a ready-made stationary unit. But they are not so important for device performance.

Motherboard

The motherboard integrates all the components of a desktop PC. Its reliability and build quality differs depending on the manufacturer. The most famous companies producing motherboards:

  • asus;
  • AsRock;
  • gigabyte.

When buying a system unit in the assembly, you are unlikely to use it for extreme overclocking, so you should not worry about the reliability and durability of the motherboard. The main thing in this case is the connectors that are on it.

The modern model should have the main connectors:

  • USB 3.0 and USB 2.0;
  • PS/2 for keyboard/mouse connection;
  • audio connectors;
  • DVI/D-Sub for monitor connection.

Depending on the specification of the motherboard, it may be equipped with other ports for connecting external and internal devices.

We do not take into account such characteristics of the motherboard as: the number of slots for RAM, the socket, the number of PCI slots, and others, since the builders of the system unit have already provided for all these features.

Other Options

It is also important to know the power of the power supply that is installed in the computer. It should be enough for the device to work stably. The best option is when the power of the power supply is at least 500 watts. But it can be more depending on the components that are used in the desktop PC.

Please note that stores, in order to reduce the cost of the system unit, use power supplies from unknown manufacturers that are not reliable. Therefore, be sure to find out which brand of power supply is installed in the computer.

As for internal storage, the PC uses SSD and HDD. For stable operation of the device, their minimum volumes should be: 120 GB and 500 GB, respectively. At the same time, please note that the amount of memory should be enough to store the data that you will download to your computer.

The best choice

Today on sale you can find system units both from official manufacturers and assembled in stores. We will only talk about models assembled under a certain brand at the factory.

Computers that can be purchased today vary in power. Therefore, they can be conditionally divided into several categories.

Games/video processing

Desktop PCs in this group are the most powerful and productive, so they have the highest cost. But if you install such a device in your home, you will not have any problems running modern games, processing or watching videos in 4K resolution over the next few years.

The best choice!

The system unit is positioned by the manufacturer as a gaming one, since it is assembled on the basis of the 6th generation Intel i7 processor with overclocking capability, has 32 GB of RAM and two internal storage(SSD and HDD). Another advantage is Windows 10 Home installed from the factory.

Buying this model, you will get a stylish accessory, because the system unit has an original design.

Among the shortcomings of the model, one can name the presence of only two USB 3.0 ports, a discrete graphics card of not the latest generation, and too high a cost.

Advantages

Flaws

  • price;
  • few USB 3.0 ports;
  • power unit.

This desktop PC features NVIDIA Quadro K2200 professional graphics card and 6th generation Intel i7 processor. Therefore, high performance in any game or video processing is guaranteed.

At the same time, the manufacturer used only 16 GB of RAM, which may not be enough when rendering video. A 120 GB SSD drive will not allow you to install all the games and programs that the user wants. In addition, the lack of a pre-installed OS will make you spend extra money on buying Windows 10 Home.

Advantages

  • specifications;
  • professional video card;
  • price;
  • Plenty of USB 3.0 ports.

Flaws

  • design;
  • lack of OS;
  • lack of detailed information about components.

Price: 76 000 rubles

Despite the 6th generation Intel i7 central processor and a powerful graphics card, the Acer system unit is equipped with a rather weak power supply, which is enough to power the device back to back. The absence of an SSD drive will slightly reduce the “nimbleness” of the pre-installed Windows 10 Home OS. But 2-TB hard drive enough to store all user data.

In addition, the advantage of the Acer Aspire T3-710 is the keyboard and mouse that come with the device, and support wireless charging smartphones, so you won't have to worry about losing your USB cable somewhere.

Advantages

  • specifications;
  • Windows 10;
  • HDD;
  • keyboard and mouse included;
  • wireless charging of smartphones.

Flaws

  • price;
  • power unit;
  • low RAM frequency;
  • few USB 3.0 ports.

Education

A stylish modern system unit with a middle-class technical "stuffing" is suitable for any schoolchild or student, as it is able to work with even the most complex programs, including those for creating drawings.

A capacious hard drive will provide the ability to store all the data without the need to connect an external HDD. But the lack of an SSD drive will not allow you to demonstrate the full potential of 64-bit Windows 8 preinstalled on the device.

The presence of a card reader and 4 USB 3.0 connectors expand the functionality of the Lenovo X310.

Advantages

  • CPU;
  • a large number of USB 3.0 ports;
  • video card;
  • card reader;
  • design;
  • Windows 8.

Flaws

  • there is no information about the power supply;
  • price.

The absence of a pre-installed OS will add work to configure the computer, but the presence of an Intel i5 processor and GeForce graphics cards GTX750Ti will provide high performance in any office and educational programs.

Conventionally, computers can be divided into three categories: office, home and gaming. It is logical that their characteristics will be minimal for office, medium for home and high for gaming. Well, the price for all this, too, respectively, the more opportunities the higher.
Go to the store, choose the cheapest - here is the easiest office option for you. Kidding

So. Let's start with office computer and figure out what should be an office computer.

How to choose an office computer?

To begin with, let's define the meaning of "office", what do I mean by this? I see myself this computer, standing in any organization and office where accountants, managers and just employees work. They don't need high performance. In our time on the market, you will rarely find computers and components for them with requirements that way for the 2000s. Basically, they solve such tasks as: word processing, mail viewing, Internet access and other simple operations. Let's go directly to their choice.
System unit- Namely, what should be contained in it.
Approximately the characteristics of a modern office system unit should be as follows:
Processor model: Celeron® G540 or Intel Atom
CPU frequency: 1800 MHz
Video card family: Intel HD Graphics
Video memory size: Allocated from RAM
RAM: 2048 MB
Hard disk capacity: 160 GB
CD/DVD drive: It can be useful
operating system: No OS
Briefly explain this choice. On such characteristics, the computer will "pull" everything office applications, such as Microsoft Office, 1C, mail clients, browsers, etc. A video card is not needed here, there is no provision for working with graphics, but still 2 GB of RAM will be comfortable for work. 160 GB is enough. Well, the choice operating system I leave it up to you (but I would recommend windows XP or windows Corporate).
The price for such a miracle is now about 6-8 thousand rubles.

Monitor- now you will no longer find tube monitors, they all go to LCD, which is good. The only choice left is the diagonal. The minimum for today is 18.5 inches. Price from 3 thousand rubles.
Keyboard and mouse- ordinary office without additional buttons. Just do your job. The price for the keyboard and mouse will be on average 300 rubles

Total: having a budget of 10 thousand rubles, you may well purchase an office computer.

How to choose a home computer?

This question is more interesting. My home computer involves: working with documents, working with images, playing games, accessing the Internet, well, and something else ... For such a computer, something more is needed both in terms of characteristics and additional equipment. So, let's get started quickly.
System unit- the most important part of the question, here I will give the necessary average set, but you should always remember that you can upgrade it in the same way.
Approximate average characteristics of the system unit for home use:

Motherboard an inexpensive one is suitable, the main thing is that the socket on it should be exactly for the processor that you are going to install, the slots for RAM must be of the DDR3 standard, and the video card - either a separate (discrete), or the motherboard must support the extension of the video card - that is, an additional slot under the video card, in addition to the built-in video card.
The best in the opinion of most users are Asus motherboards. The company is very popular, its products are of high quality and cheap at the same time. For assembling a computer based on Intel processors, models such as:
ASUS P8H61 iH61 DDR3 ATX (about 2000 rubles)
ASUS P8P67 iP67 DDR3 ATX (about 6500 rubles)
ASUS P8P67-M PRO P67 DDR3 mATX (about 3500 rubles)
Their prices vary slightly, but their quality is undeniable by millions of users.

CPU. Here the matter is simpler, it remains only to choose Intel or AMD. Of course, it's a matter of taste, but they are more suitable for a home computer. Intel processors. They are great at multitasking. The prices for them are very different, but for a home computer such models (LGA1155 socket) are quite suitable, such as:
INTEL Pentium G850 2.9GHz VGA 5GTs 3MB 65W (about 2600 rubles)
INTEL i3-2100 3.1GHz VGA 5GTs 3MB 65W Box (about 3600 rubles)
INTEL Core i5-2320 BOX 3.0–3.3GHz 5GTs 6MB 95W (about 5800 rubles)
All of them are high-performance and allow you to work normally with heavy applications and play games. powerful games.

video card. There are several clear leaders here: Asus, HIS, PALIT. The best in this price segment are:
PCI-E HIS Radeon HD 6850 Fan 1GB GDDR5 DVI HDMI (approx. 5300 rubles)
PCI-E HIS Radeon HD6670 1GB GDDR5 DVI HDMI (approx. 2500 rubles)
PCI-E ASUS HD7750/1GD5 1G GDDR5 (128-bit) HDMI DVI DP (about 3000 rubles)
PCI-E PALIT GF GTX 550Ti 1GB GDDR5 DVI HDMI (about 3500 rubles)
The forums are filled with admiring feedback from users of these devices.

RAM need DDR3 standard. It is best to immediately take two 4GB sticks, such as
DDR3 4GB TRANSCEND PC3-12800 JetRam 1600MHz (about 1000 rubles)
or two, three or even four 2GB sticks:
DDR3 2GB OCZ PC3-10666 (OCZ3G1333LV2G) 9-9-9-20 Gold Series. (about 800 rubles)
All memory works stably and quickly. But do not forget that if you install 4GB-8GB of RAM, then the operating system must be 64-bit - 32-bit versions do not see more than 3GB.

HDD- choose the storage of all information to your taste. Recently, disks with a capacity of 1000 GB or 1 TB have been relevant, which are relatively inexpensive and allow you to save a lot of information. The best:
3.5" SATA 1.0TB SAMSUNG SpinPoint F3 (HD103SJ) 7200RPM 32MB
3.5" SATA 1.0TB SEAGATE Barracuda Green (ST1000DL002) 5900RPM 32MB
all the rest are no different.

optical drive It's up to you to decide whether you need it or not. You can choose any, but I would recommend Samsung or Pioneer. The price for them is about 1000 rubles.

Sound card- in principle, a fairly simple and reliable one is suitable, for example, ASUS Xonar DSX for 2000 rubles.

card reader- instead of FDD (floppy drive for reading floppy disks), you stick this thing right away and forget about the impossibility of working with memory cards. The price is about 1000 rubles.
Monitor- I recommend that way at least 20 inches. Of the firms, I would recommend BENQ. The issue price is about 4000 rubles.
Keyboard and mouse- here, as you yourself want, with or without additional keys, what design, what company, wireless ... in general, on average, you can spend 1,500 rubles that way. I have an A4Tech XL-750BH mouse and a simple Genius KB-M220 keyboard.
Web camera- any, even with a built-in microphone and backlight, even the simplest, the main resolution is not less than 1.3 MPx. For about 1500 rubles. This is if you take it with a microphone, backlight, monitor mount. There are options for 300 rubles, there are also for 8000. It's up to you, I took a Defender G-lens 2552 for 500 rubles or something, I already forgot how much it costs, but for sure more than 2 years and there are no complaints.
Headphones- it happens that they are needed. The main choice is whether you need a microphone with them and what kind of ear pads are there (so that they are not hard). The price is about 800 rubles.
speakers- it's normal for the house even when there are just 2 of them. I have a Genius SP-S350 for 500 rubles somewhere. It's up to you to decide for what purpose. Since I only listen to one and don't need to entertain guests, these are fine.

Total: a home computer will cost you at least 20 thousand rubles.

Here's where it's fun. There is expanse for choice, the main thing is not to make a mistake. A friend of mine collected a couple of months ago for himself just a super gaming computer for 43 thousand. But here you should know that he collected everything himself, or rather, he selected everything to the system unit knowingly and the rest of the periphery, too, only for his own needs.
Here I will give free rein to my imagination and assemble a gaming computer for myself...
System unit:
CPU: Intel Corei7-2600K (about 9000 rubles)
cooler: ZalmanCPNS10XPerforma (about 1000 rubles)
Motherboard: GigabyteGA-Z68X-UD3-B3 (about 4500 rubles)
Memory: KingstonValueRAM 2x4 GB (about 1200 rubles)
video card: PalitGeForce GTX 570 Sonic Platinum (approximately 11,000 rubles)
solid state drive: Intel SSDSC2CW060A3K5 60 GB (approximately 3400 rubles)
HDD: WDCaviarGreen 2000 GB (approximately 2400 rubles)
Drive unit: DVD-RW ToshibaSamsungSH-222AB (about 600 rubles)
Frame: Cooler MasterHAF 932Advanced USB 3.0 (ATX) (about 6000 rubles)
power unit: ChieftecNitro85 + BPS-750C (about 3400 rubles)
Sound card: Creative X-Fi Titanium HD (about 5800 rubles)

Total 48300 rubles.
Oh, and I broke up. The configuration is certainly worthwhile, but some aspects can be argued. Yes, and cheaper you can collect.
Now I want to clarify my choice a little.
The older Intel processor bears the “K” index, which means an unlocked multiplier and, therefore, not just officially allowed overclocking, but also as light as possible. The quiet and very strong Zalman cooler, which received very good marks in the testing process, is responsible for cooling its four cores. The amount of RAM has been increased to 8 GB, however, there is no great need for this in practice, but, as they say, the pocket does not pull the stock.
The selected motherboard is based on the Intel Z68 chipset, which allows it to use cheap small SSDs to cache the main disk. Plus, of course, it has all the trappings of the latest motherboard: a full range of connectors including USB 3.0, quite a few USB 2.0 ports, 2 PCIExpressx16 slots if you decide to install a second graphics card.
Video card - Palit GeForceGTX 570 SonicPlatinum models, a slightly overclocked version of almost the top NVIDIA chip: only the GTX 580 is better than it. And for those who are fans of AMD products, there is the possibility of replacing the card with the RadeonHD 6970, which is very close in price and performance.
The Z68 chipset just makes us want to add an SSD to the system – to keep your wallet cool, I only added an inexpensive 60 GB drive. It is needed more in order to put an operating system on it and so that all processes are much faster than if it were on a regular hard drive.
Of the cases, I chose the heavy, large, very black and durable CoolerMaster HAF 932 Advanced, which in the latest version has got a couple of USB 3.0 connectors on the front case panel. It is accompanied by the ChieftecNitro 85+ power supply, which is a model with a significant set of cables, excellent efficiency and a quiet fan.
If you want to make this system cheaper, then you can significantly reduce its cost by replacing the power supply with the case with InWinIW-MG134 and also removing the SSD and the Corei7-2600K processor - it can be replaced with a much cheaper, but also very fast and suitable for overclocking Corei5-2500K.
There is an option that you want more, then you should think about changing the video card to GeForce GTX 580, as well as installing an SSD, having a volume of 80-120 GB, abandoning SmartResponce technology and installing not only the operating system, but also the applications and programs you use completely on the SSD.
Sound creative card X-Fi Titanium HD is suitable for listening to music and movies, as well as for games.

Monitor: either 24 inch for 5000 or 27 for 8000 . On it and play well and watch movies.

Keyboard- The leaders among gaming devices are SteelSeries and Razer. And the price of their keyboards starts from 2000 rubles. But I would take Tt eSPORTS by Thermaltake Gaming keyboard Challenger Ultimate for about the same amount. I even show you a picture. Beautiful and good reviews.

Mouse- the same leaders as the keyboards. Prices from 1200 rubles. But I have a mouse from A4Tech XL-750BH. I have been using a similar X710 for 6 years and recently bought this one (the cord is too thin for that one, but it still didn’t break) and it costs 500 rubles and suits everyone.
Web camera- here I don’t know if hemers need it, but it’s still useful. You can proceed from the principles of choice that I described above (about a home PC).
Headphones- I recommend SteelSeries right away. And I won't even write anymore. I'll just drop the picture. (2000 rubles)

speakers- well. Chic so chic. We stop at the 5in1 system (especially since the sound card will allow it). I advise you to take a closer look at the Microlab FC 730 for 5000 rubles)

Total all together to buy a gaming computer you need at least 50 thousand rubles.

That's all there is to it. Who has questions and wishes - write comments.

Hello dear readers of my blog. Marat Nauruzbaev is in touch. In this article I will tell and show which computer is better to buy for home use and which one I bought myself the other day. Or rather, what system unit for a computer I assembled from components. I'll tell you how to choose the right computer and why I chose these components for the system unit, and not others.

The system unit turned out to be average price category, with a reserve for future modernization. Also in the article I will show the configuration of the system unit of a small price category, but quite productive.

I bought my home computer a long time ago (in my opinion in 2008). At that time it was a good powerful computer for work and games. Now, according to modern requirements, it is already considered obsolete and requires modernization for a long time.

Why is it better to assemble a system unit from components, and not to purchase ready-made assemblies?

Because you “collect” exactly what you want, and not what the store in a ready-made system unit imposes on you.

At first I wanted to assemble a system unit based on a processor Intel, on socket LGA 1151, but then after talking a little on the w3bsit3-dns.com forum, I came to the conclusion to assemble a computer based on a new processor from the company AMD, codenamed Ryzen.

Why did I change my mind? No, not because Intel processors are worse, it's just that Intel plans to release new eighth generation processors, codenamed coffee lake and they will already be on a new platform (new socket) and I don’t think it’s worth buying Intel processors on the LGA 1151 socket. Although processors from Intel will be relevant on this socket, I think for another two or three years.

Therefore, I decided to “transfer” again 🙂 to an AMD processor ( old computer I also have an AMD processor. Moreover, AMD released new processor Ryzen.

My system unit configuration

I use the computer not for games, but for work: the Internet (a browser with a bunch of tabs), I test programs, write articles, and automatic backup scheduled (at background), and sometimes video editing and conversion.

In general, after weighing all the pros and cons, I ordered myself such an optimal configuration (middle price range).

Prices are fact. in rubles at the time of purchase / fact in dollars at the time of purchase / estimated price in rubles on this moment

All components cost me a total of: 36 660 rubles / 643USD(September 2017)

There is no video card in this configuration, I have it available, old and cheap 🙂, but I don’t need an expensive video card, since I don’t play games.

If you play games, you can take a video card, for example GeForce GTX 1050 Ti(10,000 rubles) or higher. This video card will pull the games of 2017 in FullHD resolution on this configuration.

“Disassembly” of components

Now I'll tell you a little about the components I purchased and show them a photo.

ASRock AB350 Pro4 Motherboard

This motherboard under socket AM4 for AMD processors and the B350 chipset supporting overclocking. I opted for it, since the B350 chipset supports overclocking of the processor and memory, and also because it has 6 SATA ports, which makes it possible to connect up to 6 hard drives.

In my case, this is relevant, because. I plan to rearrange 2 or 3 hard drives from an old computer to new computer in addition to my two purchased drives.

Processor AMD Ryzen 5 1400

This is the so-called motor for your computer.

This processor is 4-core, 8 threads, frequency 3200-3400 MHz, L3 cache size: 8 MB.

In terms of performance, it is approximately comparable to the Intel Core I5-7400 processor (4 cores, 4 threads, frequency 3000-3500 MHz).

All Ryzen are overclockable and Ryzen 5 1400 not an exception. It can be overclocked to 3.8-4.0 MHz, which I will try to do on this motherboard in the future.

Deepcool CPU coolerGammaxx 200T

Tower cooler from Deepcool.
Power dissipation: 100W
Fan size: 120×120mm
Maximum noise level: 26.1 dB

It is a more powerful cooler than the one that usually comes with a BOX processor. Required when overclocking the processor. I hope it's quiet, let's see and listen...

Samsung RAM 8 GB

Memory of 8 GB and a frequency of 2400 MHz. Samsung's B-Die chips are said to overclock well. And I don’t know this memory ... 🙂 . Let's see.

128 GB SSDTranscend 370s[TS128GSSD370S]

Reliable SSD for the price. Capacity: 128 GB with MLC memory.
Maximum write speed: 170MB/s
Maximum read speed: 550MB/s
Supplied with an adapter for a 3.5″ HDD slot.

2TB Seagate BarraCuda ST2000DM006 hard drive

HDD capacity: 2 TB
Cache size: 64 MB
Maximum data transfer rate: 210 MB/s
Judging by the many positive reviews - a good HDD. Wait and see…

FrameCaseComCP-686 (black)

A good value case with a Midi-Tower size and a bottom-mounted PSU (PSU sold separately).

I liked the fact that this case has 4 internal 3.5″ bays and 3 2.5″ bays with a transverse arrangement for drives. As well as the presence of a window on the side wall and blue illumination on the front fan.

The case comes with two 120mm fans included.

There is a removable mesh on the bottom of the case.

This is a photo of the case after installing the power supply and drives into it

Among the shortcomings, I note the non-speed-controlled fans in the case (connected via the Molex connector to the power supply), although they operate relatively quietly.

power unitZalmanTX500W[ZM500-TX]

If the processor is a motor, then the power supply is the fuel for your motor and other components, so saving on it is not advisable.

Power: 500W
Main power connector: 20+4 pin
Processor (CPU) power connectors: 1 x 4+4 pin

Assembly of the system unit

The assembly of the system unit is nothing complicated. It's like a constructor, you just need to be more careful.

The most difficult thing when assembling a computer is choosing the right components at the time of ordering. All components must be compatible with each other.

Well, for example, processors are produced by two companies: Intel and AMD. Each processor has its own socket. Motherboards are produced only for a specific socket and cannot combine two different sockets on one board. Moreover, the boards can be of different sizes: ATX, MiniATX, MicroATX, etc., which, accordingly, must be taken into account when selecting a case for the system unit ...

This is the basis for selecting components, you also need to have an idea about the various chipsets on the motherboard, types and frequencies of RAM, etc.

Well, I took all the ordered components from the store, photographed for this article and safely assembled them. Once again I say, there is nothing complicated in this.

I will not describe here in detail how to assemble a system unit from components, the article is not much about that.

In general terms, the assembly should be done in this way:

  1. The processor is inserted into the motherboard socket and closed with a special clip
  1. We apply a thin layer of thermal paste on the processor (to remove heat from the processor to the cooler)
  1. We install a cooler on the processor using special latches (if the cooler is large, then thermal paste and cooler can be installed after installing the motherboard in the system unit case)
  1. RAM is installed in a special slot on the motherboard
  1. We install the power supply into the case of the system unit and fasten it with several screws. We lay the cables from it approximately to the future connection points (power supply for the motherboard, processor, drives, video card) and fasten with ties
  1. Installing the backplate from the motherboard

motherboard We install it in the case of the system unit and fasten it to the racks for the motherboard. We connect power to it and power to the processor (from the power supply)

  1. We connect the wires from the front panel of the case to the connectors on the motherboard
  2. The main difficulty of the assembly is to connect the wires from the front panel of the case to the connectors on the motherboard 🙂. It is not always easy to figure out which wire is connected to which connector on the motherboard. In this case, the manual from the mat will help you. fees.

    In general, everything went smoothly, I assembled the system unit, it remains to connect it to the monitor, keyboard, mouse and apply power to it.

    System unit at a budget price

    Friends, if a configuration based on an AMD Ryzen processor is expensive for you, then you can buy an inexpensive but good system unit based on an Intel processor. Its performance will certainly be inferior, but it will be decent (at the level of the Intel Core I3-6100 processor).

    This configuration is perfect for work and even for non-demanding games.

    Prices are indicative at the moment.

  • maternalpayGigabyte GA-B250M-DS3H– 83 USD / 5 564 RUB
  • CPUIntel Pentium G4600 BOX– 99 USD / 6 637 RUB
  • OperationalmemoryGoodram 8 GB– 68 USD / 4 559 RUB
  • Harddisk1 TBToshiba– 46 USD / 3 084 RUB
  • Casing CaseCom CP-686– 35 USD / 2 346 RUB
  • Zalman TX 500W power supply– 62 USD / 4 156 RUB

Total: 392 USD / 26 279 RUB

The Intel Pentium G4600 processor is similar in performance to the Core I3-6100, but cheaper by a third and with a more powerful video core.

The Pentium G4600 comes with a built-in HD Graphics 630 video core, so if you use your computer for light games, you can do without a discrete graphics card.

If you want to play serious games, then additionally purchase a video card, for example GeForce GTX 1050 Ti(10,000 rubles) or higher.

Well, that's all I wanted to tell in this article. I am very glad that I finally updated my system unit. Moreover, I chose a modern platform, in which its further modernization cannot be forced to change all components, I hope so 🙂.

For example, in the future it will be possible to change the Ryzen processor to a more powerful one, especially since AMD promises to release them with an integrated video core ...

Well, I will use my good old computer as a second additional workstation.

I will tell you about the test of a new computer, as well as about trying to overclock it, so

  8. Buttons and indicators
  9. sound insulation layer
  10. 2. Power supply and case.

- one of the most important components of a personal computer. It is used to supply computer nodes with electrical energy, as well as to convert the mains voltage to the required values.

Main purposes:
1. Formation of the voltage received from the network to the required indicators.
2. Providing computer nodes with voltage direct current.

Additional functions

1. Provides voltage stabilization and protection against small interference present in the external AC network.
2. Since the device has a fan, in the process of its operation, it participates in the cooling of the nodes that make up the system unit of your personal computer.

The power output of operating PSUs is highly dependent on the structure of the computer and ranges from fifty watts (platforms with small form factors) to 1800 watts (a large number of active stations, gaming devices or entry-level servers).

High quality power supplies are usually made
well-known companies, but there are pleasant exceptions. Like most high-quality products, they have a fairly high cost, sometimes commensurate with the cost of the case due to the fact that they contain only high-quality elements, and as for their circuits, they are very well configured and thought out by manufacturers.

The necessary conditions to select the required power supply

Consumer power

PSU power denotes a parameter, which, as a rule, is determined individually for each individual computer and a unit of measurement given parameter is Watt. The total power depends on the amount of electricity consumed by each element of the operating system. To calculate the total power consumed by the computer, you will need to sum up the values consumed by all operating devices and add to the result a certain estimated amount of reserve, approximately 10 to 20 percent of the amount of total power consumed. This operation will be required so that the power supply you have chosen does not function constantly at peak load. In order to correctly calculate the consumed electricity, special calculators are used.

Power supply connectors

The device must have the required number of connectors to connect all existing consumers in the system unit of your computer.
Of course, their number will be limited by the ability of the power supply to deliver sufficient power. In addition, the length of the cables to be laid from the installed power supply must be commensurate with the size of the case you have chosen.

Power supply weight

Before you purchase the power supply you are interested in, it is advisable to determine its weight, in extreme cases, hold the device in your hands. This action will allow you to somehow evaluate its internal elements without opening the block. The large mass of the power supply indicates a lack of savings on internal components, including oversized heatsinks and transformers. The weight of the power supply depends on the dimensions, the thickness of the case walls, as well as on the number of chokes, the material used for the installed fans and radiators of the unit. As a rule, if in this device some heatsinks or coils will be missing, that is when circuit diagram is simplified in its design, then the weight of such a block will vary from 700 to 900 grams. Medium quality products have a weight of 900 to 1200 grams, there are also heavier models.

Active power factor correction PFC (Power Factor Correction) / PFC

In BP, active and passive PFC are found. A simple elementary coil acts as a passive PFC, that is, a choke that spoils the parameters working scheme. For the consumer, passive-type PFC does not provide any benefit. The active type PFC is a boost converter built between the capacitor and the diode bridge (rectifier) that produces a stabilized voltage of approximately 400 V across the capacitor inside the device. in circuits, thereby forming a current diagram close to linear.

Efficiency

The efficiency of the device should not, according to the objective judgment of those skilled in the art, be less than 80 percent. In addition, there is a specialized certification according to the efficiency plan: 85 PLUS.

Installed fans in the PSU

Fans are installed at the bottom of the unit, but can also be located on the side wall of the product. As a rule, 120/120 mm and 80/80 mm fans are used. Larger fans are less noisy and more efficient, which naturally determines the quality of the cooling obtained.

Popular brands

Having analyzed all the technical characteristics, you should proceed to the choice of a worthy brand. In theory, a guarantee against the purchase of fakes and low-quality products will be the purchase and operation of the Brand Name PSU (otherwise as a branded one). Of course, the Brand Name PSU is priced higher than the No Name products, but the existing difference in cost is the price for effective security. You can choose a PSU for your computer in the power supplies section.

Case of the system unit

The most important conditions that you should pay attention to when choosing a case / are ease of installation, the material of the purchased case, form factor, cooling. These characteristics in most cases are able to determine the right choice and save you from replacing the case in the future or be limited in the selection of components. In this regard, it makes sense to analyze the listed conditions in more detail.

Form factors

When choosing a case, you must take into account the size you need, because there is no need for a large case if you have any restrictions associated with the size of the room or workplace, and vice versa, minimalism can be reflected in the limitation of the mounted equipment.

Note: Most purchased cases are equipped with a PSU, but there are models for hobbyists that are sold without power supplies. Thanks to this, the consumer is able to independently select a power supply with the required parameters.

bigtower
This form factor is intended for computers with high power and also powerful servers with high performance. These system units contain a large number of components that provide a variety of uses. They tend to generate a large amount of heat, and the large dimensions of the case can increase the cooling effect.
In this type of case, a full-size ATX system board can freely fit. Such cases are large in size and have the ability to accommodate different hardware, but this will already depend on which motherboard is installed. The number of connected hard drives and expansion cards also depends on this board.

moddletower
This case can be safely defined as the most popular and widespread on the globe. Naturally, the product deserves to be called the best. An additional hard drive, a couple of video cards, a high-quality air ventilation system can easily fit in the Moddletower case. At the same time, there is room for standard parts. This case is really a good choice for office or home. It remains to choose between compactness and performance. But it should be noted that among the advantages of this type of case there is an opportunity to turn the PC into a gaming monster.

minitower
The most widespread among computers designed for the office. Having a small size, they make it possible to install devices within the average performance. This is due to the level of heating and the minimum dimensions of the installed devices. The space in such cases is limited, in connection with this, the temperature requirements are quite high - the devices must not overheat, and there is no unpleasant noise of the fans running. But in such case models it is possible to place only those components that will ensure work in the office with spreadsheets, presentations, texts, etc.

Microtower
Characterizing this form factor, we can say that its dimensions are even smaller in comparison with the Minitower, which implies more restrictions.

At the end of the review, after getting acquainted with the various form factors of the offered cases, it can be argued that in the product range there will always be a case that meets your requirements.

Housing material
The main points to pay attention to when choosing a case:
  • Soundproofing materials. The noise level is certainly affected by the material used to make the case walls, which keeps the noise from the hard drives and fans within the case. Case Sileo500 (Cooler Master), for example, has proven itself perfectly. You can order this case both with a power supply or separately, and this will allow, in case of a lack of power, to purchase a power supply with a higher power.
  • Noise isolation and vibration isolation premium class. Such cases are equipped with noise and vibration dampening side panels, as well as vibration damping gaskets for HDD mounting. high quality fans are also different, which are equipped with the ability to switch speeds, operating silently in any mode.
  • Rigidity. Everything is quite simple here - the thicker and stiffer the material used, the better. Steel is recognized as the most durable material, and its thickness must be over 0.8 mm. We recommend using InWin cases, although the declared thickness of the material is 0.55-0.8 mm. well-thought-out design of power elements compensates for this inconsistency with the above condition.

The choice of case is also based on the required size, because limited space will not allow you to use massive cases. Pay attention to the picture below, which clearly demonstrates the difference in size with the name of the form factor of the assembled cases.

Remember! The smaller the case, the more intense the fans must run, which deprives the computer of either performance or low noise.

Remember! When choosing a processor cooling system, one should not forget that not only the processor, but also other elements of the system unit are exposed to heat. All the heat generated in the system unit, in the absence of a fan, remains in the case, which leads to excessive heating of the computer components. It is in order to avoid this that it is also necessary to install fans on the case. You can find out the number and size of fans from the descriptions of cases.

CPU Cooling

The larger the fan, the less revolutions it needs to make to cool the same volume of air, respectively, the noise level will be lower. In addition, the noise level also depends on the type of bearings. Our specialists are repeatedly convinced of the quality of hydrodynamic bearings. In the production of fans, durable, but noisy rolling bearings, as well as rather quiet, but not sufficiently reliable plain bearings, can be used.

To cool the processor, it is advisable to use a cooler with PMW (pulse width modulation) support. PMW technology allows you to change the fan speed depending on the load on the processor, and in the ideal case, the fan stops.

Fan blades can be designed to operate with minimal noise, for maximum static pressure, or for maximum airflow. As a rule, at the moment there are models that try to combine all three parameters with varying degrees of success. But, unfortunately, models with non-profiled blades continue to be produced, which emit high level noise and poor air circulation.

Increases the noise level and vibration of an unbalanced rotor. To avoid this, you can use rotor balancing, however, this is not a cheap pleasure. The so-called fan suspension on rubber supports is much more often used.

A convenient product filter will help you easily select a cooling system in the appropriate section of the cooling device.

RAM models are conditionally divided into two groups:

    • Memory created according to all the requirements of the JEDEC organization
    • Memory for enthusiasts

The first group is the best option for those computers whose stable operation is a priority. Similar models are used in our standard system blocks.

The second group is suitable for users who want to get the most out of their computers. But if you choose such memory, be prepared for higher rejection rates and compatibility issues. These memory modules will give no more than 3-4% performance increase, and the risk of getting defective products increases significantly.

We recommend using RAM from manufacturers such as Kingston, OCZ, Corsair, Hynix as the most reliable and compatible memory modules. The volume is determined according to your needs, however, there are recommendations that are given below:

* The above RAM capacities are based on Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium. It will allow you to choose a 32 or 64-bit system during installation without changing the key.

Remember! Most modern processors / chipsets have a dual-channel memory controller, i.e. For maximum performance, you must install memory modules in pairs. The exception is Intel Core i7 9xx processors, which are equipped with a three-channel controller, therefore the number of modules must be a multiple of three (3 or 6). Attention! 32-bit OS Windows families do not work with RAM more than 4 GB. and Intel LGA 2011 Core i7 3xxx processors now have 4 channels and require 4 or 8 DIMM slots respectively.

Attention! 32-bit operating systems of the Windows family cannot address more than 4 GB of RAM.

Many modern manufacturers produce memory in kits (2, 3, 4 or 6 modules per package). However, this has a significant disadvantage - in the event of failure of even one module, you will have to carry all the modules to the warranty department at once, as a result of which you get a temporarily non-working system unit.

6. Video card.

A device that takes over the display of images on the monitor, the calculation of 3D scenes in graphic applications and games, as well as recently the calculation of non-graphical tasks using DirectCompute 12, Open CL, nVidia CUDA, ATI Stream technologies. The last two technologies mentioned are closed and can only be found on video cards from the respective manufacturers.

The types of memory used in the manufacture of graphics cards are listed in order of increasing performance:

GDDR 3, GDDR 4, GDDR 5, HBM2

Now let's talk about video chips, the choice of which confuses even experienced users. There are over 30 chip types to choose from, with manufacturers adding something different to each design, from chip cooling to PCB design.

The choice depends on the type of computer that meets your requirements:

1. Office PC (Internet, office applications). The graphics system is not important, so you can use the integrated graphics, and in case of its absence, you can use the simplest discrete graphics cards.

2. multimedia computer are the most common home computers. Graphics requirements are quite important here, so you need to choose from mid-range graphics cards.

3. Gaming computers are the choice for those who cannot imagine their computer without games. It is for you, dear gamers, that nVidia and AMD are trying to make video cards that are faster than their counterparts on the market. For gaming computers, you need a video card on high-performance chips, and if this is not enough, then 2 or 3 video cards.

4. Professional graphics stations are computers with high performance, which are intended primarily for successful work in three-dimensional graphics. It makes no difference whether it is the development of a project for various installations or parts, the creation of projects for structures and buildings, as well as the visualization of the results obtained after the calculations have been made. This indicates the high performance of these stations and characterizes them, respectively, with positive side for the consumer. Such solutions require professional graphics cards.

In addition to the fact that professional-class solutions are available both in AMD (ATI FirePro or ATI FireGL) and NVIDIA (Quadro FX, Tesla). We tend to give credence to NVIDIA graphics cards a lot. As shown by the results of our tests, including data from some vendors for complex solutions, AMD solutions are inferior in terms of performance in many well-known applications related to CAD.

It should also be taken into account that the older lines of NVIDIA models do not have direct analogues in the AMD line, and have high advantages over them, incredible performance of double precision operations, a volume that defines on-board memory as the largest, and surpass other distinguishing characteristics.

If the budget still has boundaries, then to build gaming computer it is recommended to save on some components, but to purchase a fast video card. You can choose a suitable video card from the whole variety in the video card section.

7. Optical drive.

There are two types of optical drives:

1. DVD±RW (writes and reads DVDs and CDs)

2. BD-ROM (reads all kinds of modern optical media- CD, DVD and Blu-Ray. As a rule, it does not write anything, but there are still models with the ability to record CD and DVD)

The most common today - DVD±RW. Its capabilities are enough for all modern needs, and the price difference with the outdated DVD-ROM is very small. You should pay attention to the Blu-Ray drive if you are going to work with high-definition video materials (Blu-Ray video). Choose the right DVD ±RW / BD –ROM can be found in the drives section.

The motherboard is one of the most valuable devices in a computer, on which all the necessary components are installed. The operation of the entire system as a whole depends on the reliability of this element.

What should you pay attention to when choosing a motherboard?

1. The form factor of the board must match the form factor of the selected chassis. In most cases, you can fit a smaller board into a larger case, but it's not economically viable because larger cases tend to cost more.

2. Compatibility with other components. The processor must be in the compatibility list on the manufacturer's website. The type of memory must match the selected memory and CPU, in other cases, the board may either not work, or the module will not physically fit in the slot.

Remember! DDR 3, DDR 4 are incompatible with each other.

Modern video cards have a PCI-Express interface different versions and they are all compatible with each other, so do not focus on this. It is worth considering in advance whether you will add additional equipment to the system unit ( sound card, network card, analog modem, TV tuner, PCI-E M.2, etc.). If yes, then select a board with the required number of slots, PCI-E and M.2. To increase reliability, the use of solid polymer capacitors is excellent. As a result of their use, the fault tolerance of boards and other equipment connected to them is significantly increased.

We recommend Gigabyte boards and often use them in our standard computers. They are reliable due to the use of the latest developments (capacitors with a solid polymer, coils with a ferrite core). All these technologies are combined under the Ultra Durable 3 brand. The above motherboards support energy saving technologies (for example, Easy Energy Saver), thanks to which the computer will make less noise and consume less energy. Modern boards have a built-in Q-Flash utility to facilitate assembly. It is for firmware latest versions BIOS, and in case of error supported modern technology DualBIOS, which saves in case of failure of an incorrectly flashed motherboard.

Do not forget about the functionality of the board. One of the criteria is the need, for example, to overwrite data from your digital video camera. If yes, then choose a board with an integrated IEEE 1394 controller. Also decide whether you plan to increase the speed of the graphics system by building Crossfire or SLI and whether you want to build RAID. It is better to think about a motherboard that supports these technologies from the start than to spend money on a replacement motherboard in the future.

In the catalog of motherboards, you will find a wide selection of motherboards that can satisfy a variety of requests and requirements.

Of the well-known manufacturers, it is also worth highlighting MSI boards, ASUS and ASRock, which have a wide functional and price range, even in the low price range personify an acceptable level of comfort during the assembly, configuration and operation of the computer.

9. Auxiliary table when choosing a PC

So, when you have decided on the manufacturer of the motherboard, let's move on to matching the board and the selected components. Let's try to reduce necessary information to a table that will help you choose the board that meets your requirements.

Features related to motherboard selection

Choose good computer not as difficult as it seems. It is enough just to understand what components are important for you and what area your activity is focused on. There are many applications for a computer (from office work and games to graphics modeling). For each option, you can choose your individual model with characteristics and means that will satisfy you.

It's time to replace your personal computer at home. First of all, let's decide what type of computer we need - portable or stationary. It is impossible to give a definite answer which is better. Both a laptop and a stationary PC perform the same functions, have their own advantages and disadvantages, so you need to decide what exactly the computer is for and decide how critical the advantages and disadvantages of portable and desktop computers are for you.

A desktop PC is preferable if:

    It is assumed that the computer will be used by several people with different requests. Each user has their own requirements, which will change over time. At the same time, the computer does not “overgrow” with external devices, everything is located inside the system unit.

    Computer for a child. First, you need a system that is easy to upgrade. Secondly, because of better maintainability.

    Computer for games. The possibility of modernization is important. The system requirements of games are growing, perhaps in six months a new generation of video cards will appear, processors with which your favorite games will work faster and look more beautiful.

    Professional work is expected - be it programming, drawing, working with graphics, video, and so on. The system requirements of the programs used are growing with enviable constancy, you need to buy a computer with the possibility of its further modernization.

A laptop is preferred if

    If dimensions and weight are relevant for you, and there is also a desire to be able to use a computer anytime and anywhere, and not in a strictly defined place.

    If you already have a home computer, but it is constantly busy with someone (or something). The way out is to purchase a laptop as a second computer. In your free time, you can connect it to your home theater and listen to music, watch movies downloaded from the Internet (very convenient - no need to write to a disc, insert it into a cd / dvd player, etc.). To do this, it would be nice to combine it with a network with a desktop computer.

Let's define the tasks that a personal computer should perform. Very often people buy a computer without realizing why they need it at all. As a result, as a rule, the most powerful one presented in the store is bought, plus a printer, scanner, modem, uninterruptible power supply and much more. Apparently the goal is “let it be, and only then we’ll figure it out!”

Before you buy a PC (whether desktop or laptop), you need to dispel some misconceptions:

    A computer for work and study is expensive, but for games it can be cheaper:

This is wrong. The system requirements of games are much higher than those of office programs. To work in Word, Excel, 1C, etc., the cheapest PC is more than enough.

    To use the Internet, you need a powerful computer.

This is wrong. To find the information you need, check email, chat on ICQ, video, etc. the cheapest computer is enough. It is much more important to have a high-speed communication channel.

    Watching movies requires a powerful processor and graphics card.

This is wrong. The performance of computers has grown many times, and the formats in which movies are recorded on discs have not undergone practically any changes.

    Any game requires a powerful computer.

Depends on what kind of games you like. If modern 3-dimensional walkers, racing, strategies, then yes. If you are more interested in logic games, then they will work great on the cheapest PC.

More computing power is needed to solve the following problems (as system requirements).

    Professional work with 2D graphics. This is the processing of "flat" images - photographs, vector graphics, layout, design, etc. In this case, you will need a powerful processor and an increased amount of RAM, and to work with graphics, as well as all other tasks, you need a high-quality monitor with a large diagonal (from 19 inches).

    Professional programming, solving complex mathematical problems. It means working with modern means development of programs and mathematical applications. The computer requirements are the same as when working with 2D graphics.

    Nonlinear video editing, video coding. Added to the requirement is an increased capacity hard disk. And preferably - installing 2 hard drives (the initial data on one drive, the result on the other, such a separation will noticeably speed up the work).

    Professional work with 3D graphics (for example, in 3Ds max). Here, a powerful video card is added to the requirements, the functions of which will be used to speed up rendering.

Using the knowledge about computer devices gained in computer science lessons, it is necessary to choose components that, ideally, will please their owner with speed and potential.

A computer, as you know, consists of many devices that carry certain functions. Some devices are the most important, that is, without them, the computer simply will not work, and some perform auxiliary functions, thereby expanding the capabilities of the computer.

Let's start choosing:

CPU

Often this word is called the system unit itself. It is not right. The processor is a small microcircuit 3 * 3 cm in size, or even less. This is the "brain" of the computer. The performance of a computer depends on the processor. The higher the clock frequency of the processor, the faster the processing of information and the faster the computer works. There are single-core and multi-core processors for home PCs. A multi-core processor looks the same as a single-core processor, but in essence it is 2 or more processors enclosed in one package. At equal clock frequency A multi-core processor is much more powerful than a single-core processor.

Historically, AMD processors have been cheaper than Intel. In terms of performance, we can say the following. If you need an inexpensive computer, you should seriously think about building it on the basis of an AMD processor, and using the money saved to buy, for example, a more powerful video card. In this case, playing games will be much more comfortable. If you need a "Hi-End" class computer and do not care about the price, it is better to assemble it based on an Intel processor, since in the top class, Intel processors are ahead of AMD in performance.

Intel has several processor lines:

    Core2Quad are the fastest and most expensive. They have 4 cores and are used to build the most powerful PCs.

    Core2Duo - the optimal ratio of price and performance. In most tasks, they are not inferior to Core2Quad, but when it comes to serious computing loads, they look weaker.

    Celeron - the cheapest processors. The best choice for a "budget" computer where you need to type text, listen to music, watch videos and at the same time not pay extra money. Celeron are 1-core (slower, but cheaper) and 2-core (more expensive, but faster).

AMD's processor lines are as follows:

    Phenom X2, X3 - 2- and 3-core processors with overall and average performance comparable to Intel Core2Duo (better in some ways, worse in some ways).

    Athlon II X2, X3, X4 - the junior line of AMD processors. Great processor for budget PCs. Worthy competitors for Intel Pentium DualCore and junior Intel Core2Duo.

Memory

Before telling the seller "I need a lot of memory in my computer," let's define what kind of memory is? Cache memory is a small amount of memory built into the processor with ultra-fast access, which is used to store frequently used data and commands.

RAM. It contains the data that is currently being processed by the processor. The speed of access to data in RAM is high, but much less than the speed of access to cache memory. The processor can only work directly with data from RAM. Increasing the amount of RAM speeds up your computer. But it makes no sense to increase it beyond a reasonable limit. The required amount of RAM is calculated based on the system requirements of the programs that you intend to use. For comfortable work, it is desirable to have twice the amount of memory than the most "heavy" one requires.

Hard disk (hard drive, HDD). Access to it is the slowest (10 or more times slower than access to RAM). But it has such a volume that can accommodate hundreds and even thousands of times more information than in RAM. In addition, the hard disk is a non-volatile medium, that is, when the power is turned off, the information recorded on it is not lost anywhere. The data in the RAM and cache memory of the processor is lost when the power is turned off.

    The larger the amount of cache memory, the faster the processor (at the same clock speed) can process data.

    The larger the amount of RAM (also referred to as RAM, RAM), the more comfortable the work will be - programs load faster, the computer responds to user actions with minimal delay. In some cases, increasing the amount of RAM will speed things up more than installing a more powerful processor. However, there is a limit beyond which it is pointless to increase memory.

    The larger the hard disk capacity, the more data and programs you can store and install on your computer.

  • Module size (at least 4GB)

    Clock frequency (from 1066 - 2800 MHz).

Motherboard (system) board

It is a control center for storage systems, input, output of information. It is on the motherboard that RAM, a processor, a video card are installed, a hard drive (or hard drives) is connected to it, it has slots for connecting external devices. Almost all modern motherboards have integrated sound, a video card, a network card - that is, everything you need to normal operation. If there is no integrated device on the board you have chosen, it does not matter, all these devices can be installed separately in the expansion slots, as long as there are enough of them. The motherboard can be called the "head" of the computer, so that the "head" work qualitatively, it is necessary to take into account the following parameters:

    Socket (Intel, AMD);

    Connectors for RAM (number of 2 or 4 slots, type DDR3 and higher);

    Video card slots (two PCI-E 16x slots).

video card

Serves for displaying information on the monitor screen and processing graphic data on the built-in GPU. It depends on the characteristics of the video card whether the computer will slow down in games or work in programs for processing graphic data (for example, Coreldraw, Photoshop, AutoCAD, and others). The following parameters are essential for a video card:

    Memory size (from 1024 - 16384 MB)

    Memory type (GDDR 3, GDDR 4, GDDR 5)

optical drive

A device designed to read and write information from optical media for optimal work with disks, it is necessary to take into account the following parameters:

    Disc rotation speed (from 7200 rpm)

    Connection interface (SATA from 6Gb/s)

    Type (BD-ROM / DVD-RW)

Winchester (internal hard drive)

It serves to store information in the form of files, and from it the operating system is loaded, which is previously installed on it:

    Disk capacity (from 120 GB - 1TB)

    Data buffer (from 4Mb - 64Mb)

System unit

The case must be selected according to the residual principle - the main thing is that the power supply is of high quality, and its power is greater than the total power used in the system. Pick a case, paying attention not only to the design, but also to the build quality, the location of the power supply, and ease of access inside. All these parameters determine both the reliability of the computer and the noise characteristics of the main parameters of the system unit are:

    Power supply (from 600-800 watts)

    Pick a case, paying attention not only to the design, but also to the build quality, the location of the power supply, and ease of access inside. All these parameters determine both the reliability of the computer and the noise characteristics.

Refers to information output devices, namely for the visual perception of information, because this is actually the first thing the user sees, the main parameters of the monitor are:

    The screen response time to an incoming signal (power-on response), from 2 to 15 milliseconds (the best option for a home is 5 milliseconds).

    Monitor sizes range from 14 inches (37 cm) diagonal to 35 inches (89 cm)
