Bluetooth adapter for wired headphones. How to turn any headphones into wireless

Wired headphones may or may not be of good quality. In some models, the wires have the ability to tangle at any time convenient for them. And the fact that the smartphone connected to the headphones needs to be taken out from time to time exacerbates the situation.

Wireless headphones can be a good way out. But what if you have been using high-quality wired wires for a long time that you don’t want to change? In this case, you should pay attention to a new project on Kickstarter, which is called Jack. The developer is a small company called Podo Labs.

The adapter appeared on Kickstarter just a few weeks ago, but has already received the approval of a large number of resource users. So, instead of $20,000, the developers have already collected more than $550,000. And the amount continues to grow. It is probably worth mentioning the cost of the device right away - the price of the Jack is about $29. Not so much, in general, given that you can use any wired headphones with an adapter.

Inside the adapter is a 300 mAh battery, it lasts for a whole day of headphone use. You can listen to music together with another person. True, this requires two Jacks at once, there is no additional connector on the adapter. According to the developers, music playback is quite high quality thanks to aptX technology.

In order to start working with the device, you just need to connect your own wired headphones to the adapter, then connect the adapter via wireless communication to the sound source and that's it - you can use it.

The adapter is compatible with any gadgets with Bluetooth - phones, tablets, desktop PCs, laptops or watches. If necessary, you can connect the adapter to a TV that does not have Bluetooth, and connect wireless headphones to the adapter already. This is convenient for gamers or ordinary people who do not want to disturb their home with excessive noise.

The gadget can also be used as a wireless headset, so if there is no microphone in the headphones, this is no longer a problem.

The team has been working on the creation of their device for a long time, the video posted above shows some moments of the development process. So it doesn’t look like a fake, most likely, the device will still appear on the market.

Invitation to test gadgets

Dajet invites authors interested to test our devices ( Jack we don't have, our own devices are offered for testing) and write an objective review, to cooperate. The device after the publication of the review remains with you. .

Good day to all.

Today's review will be devoted to an inexpensive, but very curious device that allows you to easily turn conventional earpiece into a wireless headset - Bluetooth Audio Receiver (y), purchased on eBay.

As some of you already know, I am the proud father of an adorable daughter who makes me happy every day. I, in turn, try to do everything possible for her (within reason), in particular, not to disturb her undisturbed sleep, which begins at about 21:30. But here's the bad luck - while the daughter is awake, watching a movie becomes an overwhelming task, and when she sleeps, you can't turn on the TV loudly, since shots, explosions and screams can wake her up. In order to somehow cope with this problem, I ordered the Syllable G600 bluetooth earphone, which I once told you about. And all of them suit me if it were not for two "BUT". Firstly, they still put pressure on the ears (this is especially felt after 1.5 hours of their use). And, secondly, after that I ordered a gaming Xiberia V3, which suits me with absolutely everything except that they are wired: (And so, the idea was born in my head that it would be nice to take a Bluetooth module from Syllable G600 and connect it to the Xiberia V3. Of course, I was not going to extract the internals from the almost new Syllable, but this idea made me search for an external Bluetooth module on eBay and Aliexpress. To my surprise, I found that this is a pretty popular little thing, which exists in many versions at a variety of prices.Personally, I chose the most compact gadget with, it seems to me, a fairly attractive appearance. The order was placed on eBay, the seller turned out to be smart and a day after the payment gave me a track and sent the package.Events you can see the track.

At the post office, they gave me a small paper bag inside which was my Bluetooth module. It does not have any factory packaging, the receiver with all accessories was in a regular plastic bag with a zipper.

The delivery set cannot be called rich or varied. In the bag, in addition to the receiver itself, there was a two-way 3.5 mm adapter, a USB - microUSB cable for charging it (the cable length is no more than 15 centimeters), as well as a black and white instruction in English.

The receiver does not have any outstanding characteristics, everything is the same as most bluetooth headphones / headsets: working area - 10 meters, support for the A2DP protocol, operating frequency 2.4 GHz, operating time about 8 hours, the presence of a microphone. Its dimensions are approximately 55 x 25 x 10 millimeters, weight - 11 grams.

The body of the receiver is made of plastic, which in its texture is very much reminiscent of a soft-touch coating. There was no smell, which was very pleasing. On the front side of the receiver there is a button with which the control is carried out, as well as a hole behind which the microphone is hidden, thanks to which any wired headphones also turn into a headset.

The button is transparent, behind it are red and blue LEDs. With this button, the receiver turns on/off, switches to the "pairing" mode, answers an incoming call, puts the track on the belly, unpauses.

It seems to be everything, although I do not exclude that I could not remember some function. All this is described in detail in the instructions that come with the kit.

There are several connectors in the rear (expanding) part. On the one hand, there is a standard 3.5 mm jack for connecting headphones or, supplied with the kit, an adapter if an AUX jack is used (for example, a radio tape recorder in a car). By the way, the only blemish of the case is visible near it - a piece of plastic left after its casting.

On the opposite side is a microUSB connector for connecting the charger.

Strictly between them in the case there are two slots whose purpose is unknown to me. The only logical explanation for their presence is the place of attachment of the strap or something similar so that the receiver is not lost.

The halves of the case are connected using 3 latches, so getting to the insides of the gadget is not difficult. Inside is a 120 mAh battery. On the one hand, not so much, but on the other hand, it is rare in any headset to find a battery of such capacity :)

But on the other hand, not everything is so beautiful :(

The buttons are soldered terribly crooked, and there is some kind of incomprehensible strip on the chip, which I really don’t like. But despite all this, the receiver copes with its functions perfectly.

With headphones connected, the receiver looks like this:

Now a few words about the most important thing - about his work. There were no problems with connecting the receiver. He immediately got hooked on mobile phone, and to the set-top box connected to the TV. During operation, there was no interference in the headphones - the sound was not nearly worse than when transmitted via a cord. Before buying, I read reviews on this device - many people wrote that there were no basses. So - they are, and very high quality. So this moment, it seems to me, directly depends on the quality of your headphones. Although I do not exclude the fact that the receiver went through a significant improvement (the boards that I saw in the reviews are very different from mine). For example, here is a photo of the board of the same receiver taken from the Internet (the differences are obvious):

The volume reserve is enough for high-quality watching movies and listening to music. As for the duration of work - for 8 hours the receiver, of course, is not enough. But I was able to watch 3 films lasting 1.5 hours each on one full charge, that is, it works out 4.5 hours without problems. I was more than satisfied with the purchase - the device is inexpensive and at the same time works just fine. So now the Syllable G600 went to gather dust in the closet, and I began to enjoy a good loud sound without disturbing other members of my family :) So take it, definitely, take it if you need it :)

On this, perhaps, everything. Thank you for your attention and your time.

In the second half of 2016, Apple introduced a new generation of iPhone without a separate headphone port, after which smartphone manufacturers around the world followed the example of the Apple corporation and released their devices without a minijack. As practice has shown, users can easily do without a 3.5 mm jack - in 2017 there is a huge range of Bluetooth headphones. But what about those who value their wired headset or simply do not want to overpay for a wireless module in standard headphones? Purchase a compact Bluetooth receiver. The best inexpensive wireless receivers will be discussed in this article.

How to choose a Bluetooth receiver

When choosing a device, it is necessary to pay attention not only to obvious things (price, case quality and battery capacity), but also to the wireless module - be that as it may, it is the main component of the Bluetooth receiver. When buying a gadget, you should choose the following characteristics correctly:

1.Bluetooth version
When choosing a wireless version, the rule is very simple: than newer technology Bluetooth is better (Bluetooth 4.1 is better than Bluetooth 3.0). This is due to the fact that in each new version wireless communication developers improve certain components (connection distance, data transfer rate, power consumption). It is strongly not recommended to buy a device with a Bluetooth version lower than 3.0 (also referred to as 2.1 + EDR). You should also pay attention to the Bluetooth version of the device from which music is transferred to the headphones:

When transferring Bluetooth data between multiple devices, the lowest Bluetooth version of all gadgets is always used.
If the receiver is equipped Bluetooth module version 4.1, and Bluetooth 2.0 is installed in the smartphone - data transfer will be carried out over the worst communication channel.

2.Bluetooth codec
On this moment There are three codecs for the A2DP data transfer protocol (used in all Bluetooth receivers): Subband Coding (SBC), Advanced Audio Coding (AAC) and AptX. The first one is the worst because high degree compressing the transmitted media file, which, in turn, degrades the sound quality. The best is AptX, which allows you to transfer music at a high bitrate.
