Package for Russification windows 7. Russian language

In this article, we will set up a local network between two or more computers with installed Windows 7 (Windows 8) that are connected via a Wi-Fi router. Actually, setting local network Windows 7, Windows 8, and Windows 10 are pretty much the same. In Windows XP, perhaps there are some nuances, there are always some problems when setting up a network between the seven and XP. But, about this in a separate article, and it's time to move from Windows XP, it is outdated.

It is clear that in order to set up a local network and file sharing, computers need to be somehow connected to each other. This can be done with a network cable, I have a direct connection between two computers. But, it is much more interesting to connect all computers through a router, which is now installed in almost every home and office. When connected through a router, it is already possible to set up a local network not only between two computers. All computers can be connected to a local network, and even mobile devices that are connected to one router

For example, desktop computers can be connected to the router via a network cable, and laptops via WiFi networks. This is how you feel more comfortable, and how you get it. It doesn't matter if the computer is connected to the router via Wi-Fi or a cable, the local network will work. And it doesn't matter which one you have operating system installed, but I will show on the example of Windows 7.

And I will configure and show the network through a router, to which I have a laptop connected via Wi-Fi, and a desktop computer. Both work on Windows 7. It is between these two computers that we will now set up a local network. And also, we will open the general access to folders and files. What is a local area network between computers for? Mainly for file sharing. If you often need to transfer some files from one computer to another, then in order not to run with a flash drive, you can do it over the network. Well, you can play online games.

If you still have a Smart TV in your network, you can set up access to movies on your computer from your TV. More details in the article.

Instructions for setting up a local network in Windows 7

Let me remind you that the computers that you want to network must be connected to the same router, or connected by cable directly. Also, all the actions that I will show in this section must be performed on both computers.

Important point! If you want to set up a network through a Wi-Fi router to which some third-party devices are connected (for example, your neighbor), then after setting it up, it will be able to access those folders on your computer that you set up for sharing. Install a good one to protect your network. If you still need to connect third-party devices to your router, but you want to set up a home network, then you can create a "guest network" for guests, as we did on the Zyxel router in .

One more moment. If you are setting up a network when connecting computers directly, without a router, then you will also need to set static IP addresses in the properties of the LAN connection. If you have a connection through a router, then you do not need to do anything else, continue to follow the instructions.

1 First of all, we need to check that all computers work in the same workgroup. This must be checked on all computers that will be connected to the local network.

We do this: press the key combination Win+R, and in the window that appears, specify the command sysdm.cpl. Click Ok.

Against Working group is likely to be written WORKGROUP. You can leave her. The main thing is that on other computers the working group should also be WORKGROUP.

If you want to change it, for example to MSHOME, then click the button Change, and specify new group. Save changes and restart your computer.

2 The second step is to change the sharing settings. We perform these settings in the same way on all computers in the network. Now I will show what needs to be included.

Click right click click on the internet connection icon in the notification bar, and open Network and Sharing Center. In the new window select Change Extra options public access.

There will be two profiles. Home or work, and General. We change the one whose carriage is written current profile. You can make these settings for both profiles.

First of all, put the switch near Turn on network discovery . Also, turn on Sharing files and printers, and turn on folder sharing. See screenshot below.

Scroll through the settings page, find and open the tab All networks, or General, and be sure disable password protected sharing.

After these steps, it is advisable to restart the computer. These are actually all the settings, the local network should already be working. To check, you need to go to Explorer on one of the computers (My computer), and open the tab on the left Net. All computers on the network will be displayed there. In the screenshot, you can see my computer, and another one from the network.

We can already log into the computer in our home network, there will be access to shared folders.

If you do not have computers on the network, or do not have access to a computer, then see the solutions at the end of this article.

Set up file and folder sharing

As I wrote above, there is already access to shared folders. But, we may need to share some other folder, which is located, for example, on local disk D. This can be done without any problems. After we share the folder, all computers from the local network will be able to view the files in it, modify them, and add new files to this folder (true, it depends on what permissions we enable).

For example, I want to share the "Pictures" folder. To do this, right-click on it and select Properties. Go to tab Access, and click on the button Advanced setup. Place a checkmark next to Share this folder, and click on the button Permissions.

In the window that opens after clicking on the button Permissions, we need to set permissions for this folder. So that network users can only view files, then leave a checkmark only in front of Reading. Well, for full access to the folder, with the ability to modify files, check all three checkboxes.

Click Apply And Ok. In the window Advanced sharing settings, also press the buttons Apply And Ok.

In the folder properties, go to the tab Safety, and click on the button Change. Another window will open, in which we click on the button Add. We write in the field "All" and press Ok.

Select a group All, and from below we tick off the access points we need for this folder.

Everything, after these steps, this folder will be shared from all computers on the network. Starts to work without reboot, checked. Open this folder from another computer:

Everyone did it in a confusing way, until you figure it out ... It was possible somehow to make these settings more simply, and more understandable. But, everything works. It turns out that I have access to a folder that is located on another computer. And this is all over the air, since I have both computers connected to the router via Wi-Fi.

By the way, this folder will also be available from smartphones and tablets that are connected to this WiFi router. To view network folders on Android, I advise you to install the ES Explorer program, or use the standard explorer. Everything is working:

We will now consider possible problems and errors that you can often encounter during the setup process.

Possible problems and errors when setting up a home LAN

If any errors or problems appear during the setup process, then first of all disable your antivirus, and other programs that may block the connection. If the problem is in the antivirus, then you will need to add your connection to the exceptions.

  • Computers from the local network do not appear on the Network tab. In this case, on all computers we check working group, and sharing settings. Open a tab in File Explorer Net, right-click on an empty area, and select Refresh. Another important point, very often antiviruses and firewalls block access to the local network. Try temporarily disabling your antivirus. Also, you need to make sure that there is a connection to the router.
  • No access to shared folder. Another problem, when we seemed to have set everything up, shared access, but when we try to open a folder on a computer on the network, a message appears that we do not have access, there are no rights to access this folder, it was not possible to open network folder etc. Or, you are prompted for a username and password.
Be sure to check the sharing settings in the properties of this folder. There are a lot of settings, everything is confusing, maybe something is missed. Well, again, turn off the antivirus, it can block.
  • A computer that is connected via Wi-Fi cannot be seen by other computers on the local network. Or vice versa. If your network is built from computers and laptops that are connected both wirelessly and via cable, then there may be problems with a certain connection. For example, laptops that are connected via Wi-Fi may not appear on the local network.
In this case, pay attention to which profile you enabled network discovery for. (settings at the beginning of the article). Also, it is desirable to assign the status of a home network to connect to your Wi-Fi network. Also, try disabling your antivirus.

I think you have succeeded. If something could not be configured, then ask in the comments. Also, do not forget to share your tips on this topic.

In this topic, I will talk about how to connect by wifi mode computer-to-computer (point-to-point, or as a rule it is called ad hoc mode) and transmit via WLAN - network (in this case, DS) and the Internet

So, we have a computer with a DC network (or other LAN) connected to it and a PCI Wi-Fi adapter built into it (I have a D-Link DWL-G510) and another computer with a Wi-Fi adapter.

In addition, the terms of use of open source licenses will apply to open source software. Nothing in this Agreement limits your rights or grants you rights that are in lieu of any open source software license.

1. First of all, on both computers, you need to check whether your Wi-Fi adapters support ad hoc (point-to-point) mode. This is very important. this is the mode we will use. This can be checked by looking at the adapter's instructions or in Control Panel - System - Hardware tab - Device Manager - Network cards, select your card and look for ad hoc mode there. Previously, before that, of course, putting the driver on the card.

The User acknowledges that the Open Source Software License is applicable only between the User and the Open Source Software Licensing Entity. User will be bound by the terms of all open source software licenses, if any.

"Open Source Software" means any software or software or technology component covered by an open source license. Open source licenses are usually licenses that make source code available for free modification and redistribution, but may also refer to derived technology and be distributed only in object code form.

2. You need to activate this ad hoc mode. All this can be done in the same place Control Panel - System - Equipment tab - Device Manager - Network cards. There are two Infrastructure modes (this is for connecting with an access point) and ad hoc, we select ad hoc (in the advanced tab). (Fig.1)

3. Now let's go to the properties of our unconnected wifi connections and select the Internet Protocol (TCP / IP) item Next, on the main computer (with a DS connection), manually set the IP address, for example 192.168. DS connection) computer as a gateway to transfer the Internet to your other computer.

Modern people face the need to connect to Wi-Fi everywhere: wireless networks are much more practical and more convenient than their cable counterparts.

It’s just that such WiFi privileges are mainly “used” by all kinds of mobile gadgets: phones, tablets, smartphones and most modern laptops. Accordingly, the question arises: why is a “classic” personal computer worse? After all, working on a stationary computer is much more convenient, and connecting cable Internet often causes a lot of trouble.

And in this article we will analyze how to connect a stationary computer to wifi, and what needs to be done so that the computer "catch" invisible wi-fi.

By the way, the age of the device is not directly related to the creation of a wireless network, and you can even connect WiFi to a relatively old computer.

Can a regular computer be connected to wifi?

Some difficulties with connecting wi-fi on personal computer are by no means connected with the "prejudices" of the developers or the unfortunate fate of this device.

The fact is that mobile devices and modern laptops are initially equipped with a built-in Wi-Fi adapter for connecting to a wireless network (which is not available on a desktop computer). However, such devices are mostly designed for short-term access to the network, and have a rather meager set of functionality.

While a desktop computer is designed for long-term work both with serious offline software and with any resources of the global information network. Accordingly, the connection with all peripheral devices and external networks (Internet, power supply, etc.) is carried out here in a more reliable cable way.

A cable Internet connection for a desktop computer is more stable than a wireless Wi-Fi connection. Yes, at WiFi connection the reliability and speed of the network directly depend on the number of active connections, channel congestion, room architecture and many other third-party factors.

Therefore, decide to connect home computer to wifi solely for aesthetic reasons - still not worth it. "Standard" cable connection is more reliable, more efficient ( Not), and the damage to the health of the Internet user is much less.

However, if a hard connection to the Internet source is not available for some reason, then you can connect Wi-Fi on your home computer in a matter of minutes.

How to connect your home computer to wifi?

To connect wifi to a stationary PC, first of all, you need to purchase a special removable Wi-Fi adapter - a miniature antenna that will “catch” the Internet signal transmitted by the router and return user-processed data to the router.

The most popular and inexpensive solution here would be to choose a removable USB adapter for the computer.

In order not to get a “pig in a poke”, it is better to buy a device from well-known and time-tested manufacturers: TP-Link, D-Link, etc.

If you purchased the adapter from an official distributor, then a disk with special program to install drivers.

How to install Wi-Fi on a computer with Windows 7?

1. Connect your adapter to any USB port on your computer.

2. Insert the disc into the drive, run the autotuning utility and click the "Next" button when prompted by the program.

3. After installing the driver in the "Network Center" folder for Windows 7 (or "Network Connections" for Windows XP), you will see a new shortcut (in addition to the usual "Local Area Connection"). The name of the label will contain the brand of the manufacturer of your adapter.

4. Now you can connect your desktop computer to wifi. To do this, right-click on the shortcut -> "Connection" -> Select the name of your Wi-Fi network and enter the password.

How to set up Wi-Fi if there is no installation disk?

In addition to the “classic” purchase of a brand new licensed adapter, there are times when a user needs Wi-Fi on a computer “here and now”, and he borrowed from friends / purchased an old used WiFi adapter.

The disk with the driver for such an adapter, of course, has long been lost.

In such a situation, you need to download the archive with the driver from the Internet.

But there is no internet! - you say - "What to do?"

Here to connect desktop computer to wifi follows:

1.

Connect the computer to be configured to the router using a cable (if possible).

Go to the official website of the manufacturer of this adapter (or the profile resource ddriver.ru), find the driver you need by the name of the USB-Wi-Fi adapter and download the software to your computer.

If a cable connection to the router is not possible, download the driver you need on any computer connected to the Internet, and using removable media(flash drives) copy the archive to your wired computer.

2. Next, right-click once on the "My Computer" shortcut, then "Manage" and select "Device Manager" here. In chapter " Network adapters"Find the name of our USB adapter, right-click on it and select the "Update driver" menu item. Next, specify the folder into which the archive was copied from the right drivers, and click OK.

3. Upon completion of the installation, you will be able to connect your desktop computer to wifi. To do this, in "Network Connections":

Choose a new label;

Click on it with the right mouse button;

Select the "Connection" menu item;

Select the name of your Wi-Fi network (which you specified in the SSID when setting up the router);

Enter the password and you can use the Internet.

Computer users may sooner or later need to connect two or more computers to each other. You need to connect a friend's laptop to your computer, or you had one computer at home and bought another, or you need to use your computer as a means of distributing the Internet to other PCs - there can be a lot of options. In this article I will tell you how to connect a computer to a computer using a network cable connection, Wi-Fi and USB.

The easiest way to connect is to connect two computers via a network cable. Network cards are now built into almost all models of desktop computers and laptops, and if for some reason you don’t have one, you can always purchase it at the nearest computer store or order it on the Internet.

Make your own cable. Since two types of crimping network cables (twisted pair) are now used, you will need a “computer-computer” crimping, so-called “crossover” (crossover). Of course, you can crimp it yourself using special tools, but I would advise you to contact any computer company where they will do it for you in a couple of minutes at a penny price. Don't forget to say that you need a crossover, and also specify the necessary comfortable length of your cable.

When you have such a cable, then one end of it must be connected to one computer in the connector network card, the other end - into the same connector of another computer. After connecting a computer to a computer, you need to go to the settings of these computers and configure the connection between them.

How to connect PC to PC via cable:

Checking PC to PC connection. The computers should now be visible to each other.

The main part of the work is done. Now you can play with each other computer games, your cars will see each other. But if you want to send files to each other, then you need to share some directory on your PCs so that both your PCs can write to or read the necessary files from there.

Let's share the folder. When you have determined which folder on your computer will be shared, right-click on it, select properties, go to the "Access" tab, click on sharing, and in the user column, by clicking on the arrow on the right, select "All". Click on "Add" on the right, and then at the bottom on "Sharing". Your folder will become available to another computer, the user will be able to download files from there and upload their own files there.

By the way, the same mechanism is applied both to a separate directory and to the entire logical drive, which can also be made common using the above technique.

Method 2. How to connect a computer to a computer using a homegroup

It is also possible to connect our machines to each other by creating a so-called. "home group". We connect the laptop to the laptop using a network cable, specify their IP and the desired subnet mask as described above.

  1. After specifying the parameters on both computers, go to the control panel, select "Network and Internet" there.
  2. Next, go to the network and access control center, and at the bottom left click on " home group».
  3. In the window that appears, click "Create a homegroup", click "Next".
  4. Select groups of files for sharing (videos, pictures, etc.).
  5. Again, click on "Next", and in the next window we get a password to access the group (it must be written down).

Now any other computer can join our group if the password is known. To do this, you need to enter the "Homegroup" component on another computer (the path is indicated above), and click "Join" there, following the wizard's prompts. That's all.

Method 3. Connect computers using Wi-Fi

Typically, this connection option is used when connecting laptops to each other, which by default (unlike stationary PCs) are equipped with built-in Wi-Fi modules.

  1. For settings for connecting a computer to a computer, go to control Panel.
  2. Then go to "Network and Internet", then click on the network control center, where on the left we select "Change adapter settings".
  3. Right click on the icon "Wireless network connection» , then click on "Properties".
  4. There we select the Internet Protocol fourth version, double-click on it and check the boxes for automatic receipt IP and DNS, then press "OK".

These operations must be carried out on both computers. After that, we need to create a wireless network.

Click Start, in the search bar we type , on the command line icon that appears, right-click and in the menu that appears, select run as administrator.

IN command line we type:

netsh wlan set hostednetwork mode=allow ssid= droidovtest.mcdir.ru key=458654452

Instead, you can use a different network name, and instead of 458654452 - another password of your choice.

The launch of our Wi-Fi network is carried out by the team netsh wlan start hosted network

Now we go to another computer, click on the wireless networks icon (bottom right of the screen), in the list of networks we see the network under the name specified earlier, click on it and click "Connect". The system will ask for a password, and after entering it, you will be connected to the network with the first computer.

Method 4. How to connect a computer to a computer via a USB cable

Let me state right away that connect one computer to anotherUSB-Cable directly will not work, since the USB cable itself is wired in such a way that there must be a master and slave device. To create such a connection, you will need a special USB cable with a built-in chip, which are sold on various sites.

Usually, such a cord comes with a disk with drivers that ensure the operation of this device. If there are no drivers included, they can be supplied automatically by the system itself. Included with the cord can also be file manager specially designed to provide the functionality of this device. With it, you can easily share files, just run it on both computers.

  1. After connecting and installing the drivers in network connections additional network adapters will appear.
  2. Let's go to Network Control Center along the path described above, we find our appeared virtual adapter and right clicking on it select Properties.
  3. And then double click on Internet Protocol 4 versions, and set the IP168.3.1 address on one computer (the subnet mask is standard), and on the other - 192.168.3.2 (the same mask).
  4. We confirm and exit, now in the network environment of each computer we will see another computer.

Conclusion

As you can see, there are simple methods for connecting a computer to a computer using a network cable, wireless connection or USB connection. Usually, a crossover of an ordinary cord and a couple of settings is enough so that computers can see each other, and their users can enjoy cooperative gaming or sending to each other. various files. If this seems difficult to you - just try to follow the above tips, you will definitely succeed.
