How to disable VKontakte notifications in the full version

Turn off notifications in a mobile application on a tablet or phone
We launch the application and in the left menu click on the "Gear" icon, which we mean "Settings"
At the next stage, in the settings, click on the "Notifications" section:
All types of notifications are loaded. In order to disable some of them, just move the slider to the left. If, for example, you are annoyed by notifications of messages in a conversation, then click on the "Messages in conversations" item:

By installing each application, the owner of the smartphone agrees to requests for access to certain data and device capabilities, among which there is a notification system. Thanks to this, you can be sure that you will not miss really important messages and reminders, however, some mobile software abuses this by spreading promotional or frequent irrelevant alerts.
There are two ways to get rid of annoying notifications - either using the Android system, or through the settings within the application itself. The first case is only suitable for smartphones based on version 4.1 and higher, while the second one does not depend on OS modification.
System Disable Notifications
The ability to set up alerts has begun to be implemented from devices based on Android Jelly Bean, on such devices you can either completely disable notifications for each individual application, or enable them all. Android 6 has already appeared more than fine tuning, which allows you to adjust the frequency, sound and other parameters.
Users latest versions just press and hold on the annoying pop-up notification until you can control it.
In just two steps, you can switch all notifications from the application to silent mode or block them altogether. If this is not enough, you should go to "Other settings".
Turning off auto mode by clicking on the letter "A", you can adjust the level of importance by moving the slider. Depending on its position, it changes:
- Sound and vibration mode;
- Notification priority relative to others;
- Permission to show messages on the lock screen.
Below available additional options, allowing you to determine what information will be available on the lock screen - this way you can allow the display of all data, except for personal data (for example, the content of messages) or block notifications of this nature and not display them without unlocking the device.
Also, the notifications of this application can be moved to the “Important” category, in which case they will make themselves felt even in the “Do Not Disturb” mode. By setting a frequency limit, you will not hear more than one alert within a set period of time (from 10 seconds to 30 minutes).
How to go to the notification section?
You can also go to the same menu to set up notifications for each application in another way.
Go to phone settings. The gear icon is located in the general menu or on the right side of the "curtain".

To turn off unwanted notifications, go to one of the categories and select "None". At the very bottom is the item " Additional settings”, where you can change the default message sound, indicator color, and other settings.
Messengers
Notification settings in most instant messengers are usually the same. For example, in WhatsApp you need:
- Click on the "Menu" icon;
- Select "Settings";
- Go to "Notifications".
To turn off all notifications, change the sound from standard to Silent, set Light to No, and disable pop-ups.
The social network VKontakte has an internal notification system that includes sound alerts, for example, when receiving private messages. Method 3: Browser settings
Any Internet browser provides its own settings that allow you to disable certain elements of the site, including sound. VKontakte is no exception, and therefore you can deactivate notifications by simply blocking the playback of any sound on the social network site. Note: Steps may vary depending on different browsers, but we will only consider .
The fastest and easiest way to turn off the sound on just one tab with the site, in this case VK, is by clicking on this tab right click mouse and selecting "Mute website"(relevant for Chrome, for other browsers the name of the parameter will be slightly different). The ban on playing sounds only applies to a specific tab and applies until it is closed. This opportunity not supported by all web browsers and disables ANY sound that is played inside the tab, so be careful when trying to watch video or listen to audio.

From a mobile phone, you can deactivate in exactly the same way in two main and one additional ways. At the same time, differences in the process may depend on the operating system used, the proprietary shell, and even on the version of the official client.
Method 1: Application Settings
Sound notifications for any events in the VK application can be deactivated through the options in separate section. This method is the main one, as it only applies to alerts, leaving any other sounds untouched.
After making all the changes, it will be enough to press "OK" and close the settings section. Unfortunately, you can check the performance only during some events.
Method 2: Notifications in the dialog
An additional method for deactivating VK alerts comes down to using a menu of individual dialogs, including regular correspondence and conversations. This, as a rule, will be enough to turn off all stimuli, since sound signal accompanied mostly by personal messages.
As in the case with full version, it is worth using the method only to deactivate specific dialogs in small quantities. However, unlike the site, the application settings are saved in the device’s memory, and not in the user profile, which allows you to undo all changes by simply clearing or reinstalling VK.
