Test. Performance and speed
We decided to test the performance and speed of Norton Internet Security on test computers with the following configurations:
Workstation with Windows 8 x64 ( Intel Core i7-2600K CPU @ 3.4GHz, RAM 16GB);
- portable laptop c Windows 7 x64 (Intel U4100 CPU @ 1.3 GHz, RAM 4GB);
- old laptop with Windows 7 x86 (Intel Core 2 Duo T7250 CPU @ 2.0 GHz, RAM 2GB).
For performance testing for each computer configuration, we used PassMark PerformanceTest 8.0 in 4 modes: unprotected computer, Norton Internet Security running in the background, full computer scan, and full computer scan with the High Assurance profile.
Test results
Improved protection against phishing and web threats
The new Scam Insight anti-phishing technology uses data from the Norton Insight network provided by anonymous users to alert the Norton user community when a website you visit is flagged as suspicious. This happens if the new site does not yet have a reputation, but raises certain concerns, for example. similar to a well-known banking site, but has nothing to do with it. Simply click on the Norton icon in your web browser toolbar and select "Report Site". In the future, this site will be checked and its security level revised.
Scam Insight allows you to block very recent and still unknown phishing sites
The Norton Insight network now tracks IP addresses to help you determine when a threat is coming from a repeat source. Test. Phishing Protection
We tested Norton Internet Security for the ability to block fresh phishing sites compared to browsers Internet Explorer 10, Mozilla Firefox 16.0.1 and Google Chrome 22 without Norton protection. Testing was conducted using 50 phishing web pages identified on the same day in the PhishTank database.
Test results
