About a month ago, we already published a material about this device- First Look. At that time, we did not have exact data (the fact is that even Huawei could not tell the details about the Honor 4C Pro), so we mainly relied on our experience and information from various applications.

A few days after the publication of the material, we were invited to the presentation of 4C Pro. It was held at the Artplay Design Center. At the event, we were told about the company's success, about the excellent promotion, about the development of the Huawei online store and, of course, presented the new product.

In Russia, the Honor 4C Pro smartphone can be purchased in the Huawei branded online store and in some other offline stores starting from April 14, 2016. The cost of the device is 12,990 rubles. By the way, in April there was a promotion (only a few days) when 4C Pro cost 11,990 rubles.

Design, dimensions, controls

The design of the novelty is quite simple, even the version of Honor 4C without Pro looked more original. The front panel is protected by glass (even after the announcement, it was not possible to find out the material more precisely), the substrate white color, a small pattern in the form of gray dots is applied. In the shade and under room lighting, these dots are invisible, but in the light they look good.




The thin edging around the perimeter is white matte plastic, the main edging is semi-gloss, metallic colors, the back cover is made of semi-gloss white plastic with a mother-of-pearl effect, slippery to the touch. WITH reverse side you can feel a weak relief pattern - transverse notches. They are not particularly felt in the hand, but are noticeable in the light.

The smartphone is sold in three colors: white, black and gold. In our review, the device turned out to be in the light. During the operation, no problems with the assembly were revealed: the case does not creak, does not play, the rear area does not bend to the battery.




The oleophobic coating is of poor quality, we can say that it is not there: fingerprints quickly cover the entire display, even a greasy coating remains.





Top: camera, sensors, event indicator. The speaker is loud, the interlocutor is heard clearly and legibly, the timbre is pleasant, closer to low frequencies.


At the bottom there is a speaker, microUSB and a microphone, and at the top there is only a 3.5 mm headphone jack. On the right is the power button and the volume rocker. From my point of view, they are quite strongly recessed into the case, it is not always possible to identify the first time where the volume is and where the lock button is.




On the back side: a camera with a silver edging, slightly protruding above the body, a second microphone and a flash.

The Honor 4C Pro uses a 5-inch display. The 4C also had a similar diagonal. Physical size - 62x111 mm, top frame - 16 mm, bottom - about 17 mm, right and left - 5 mm each. An enterprising manufacturer specially made a black backing so that a potential buyer would think that here the frames are only 2.5 mm.

The screen matrix of the “firmware” is IPS without an air gap, the resolution is HD, that is, 720x1280 pixels. Density - 293 pixels per inch.

The maximum white brightness is 347 cd/m2, the maximum black brightness is 0.43 cd/m2, and the contrast ratio is 800:1.

The brightness graph is within the normal range, the gamma is excellent around 2.3, judging by the color levels, there is a clear dip in red, the temperature does not float and is around 7000 K. The data obtained is slightly smaller than the sRGB triangle, the gray color is almost perfect.






The brightness of the backlight is low, in the light the picture is hard to read. The viewing angles are maximum, however, under the slopes the image is a little violet. In general, judging by this sample, the matrix is ​​not of the highest quality, but some parameters are quite good - contrast, gray color and temperature.

The battery capacity of the novelty is 4000 mAh, which is very good for an inexpensive smartphone. Now "large" batteries are mainly the prerogative of purely Chinese devices.

According to my data, Honor 4C "lives" for two days with not the most active use. If you load the device, as they say, to the fullest, then you should expect about 20 hours. The device is able to work for 20 days (turned on in the "vegetable" mode without connecting to the network cellular communication). Games - 6 hours, videos - 12 hours.

The rest is typical for any budget Android gadget: Bluetooth version 4.0, Wi-Fi standard b/g/n. The device does not support OTG.

Inside the Huawei 4C Pro is 2 GB of RAM. This amount is sufficient for everyday tasks, and if we take into account that the device is inexpensive, then two “gig” is not bad. Built-in memory is 16 GB, about 11 GB is available for the user. There is a slot for a microSDHC memory card, the maximum capacity is 128 GB.

There are two of them, as in any other modern smartphone. The main module is 13 MP (aperture F2.0) and the front module is 5 MP (F2.2), there is a flash.

In my opinion, the cameras shoot very well, especially considering the low cost of the 4C Pro. In this sample, photos come out with accurate white balance and excellent sharpness. The most important thing is the absence of visible noise when shooting in the NSU (insufficient lighting conditions). Focus is accurate even at night.

The front camera has a wide viewing angle, the white balance is usually accurate, and the sharpness is slightly above average.

The video was disappointing: the resolution is only HD at 30 frames during the day and 16 frames at night. The selfie camera does the same.

Processor, memory and OS

The Honor 4C Pro smartphone operates on the MediaTek MT6735 chipset (ARM Cortex-A53 64-bit, 4 cores up to 1300 MHz). This is a simple chip, budget gadgets work on it. Still, the 4C Pro is a nimble little fellow: no stuttering, no stuttering, everything is smooth and fast.

The ARM Mali-T720 is responsible for the graphics. All games run, however, many shooters will slow down, so you will have to set the texture settings to medium or even low values.

With an active processor load, the case practically does not heat up, it remains slightly warm.

Performance Tests


The operating system is traditional - Google Android, version 5.1 with a proprietary shell EMUI 3.1 Lite.

Multimedia

The volume of the main speaker is high, the quality of the speaker is good, I liked it. However, if you close it with your hand or some object, then the volume decreases to almost zero.

Music player standard for Huawei. Unfortunately, it does not have a proprietary equalizer. The sound was pleasantly surprised: loud, clear, bass. There is a radio - no doubt a plus.

Conclusion

The quality of communication completely satisfied me, the GPS signal receiver showed good sensitivity in poor reception conditions, the vibration signal is average in strength, but it is felt in summer jeans or trousers.

I can’t say that Huawei 4C Pro is an ideal device in terms of cost, after all, the original 4C was sold for a “tastier” price. However, one must understand that the device of the previous generation hit the shelves in pre-crisis times.

Forte 4C Pro - battery. The gadget showed excellent performance in all modes of use. At the same time, the body of the device is quite compact. Of the interesting features: fast charging and the ability to charge other devices.

I liked the screen. Despite not the highest brightness, the matrix produces a good level of contrast, the colors are relatively accurate, the temperature does not “float” depending on the backlight level.

I would also give preference to cameras in this model among close competitors. The Huawei 4C Pro smartphone shoots nicely, it’s not a shame to show pictures on social networks or even store them in your home photo gallery.

If you do not find fault with trifles, then this great option as a workhorse: it works for a long time, shoots well, you can play any games and is inexpensive.

Competitors

Naturally, many comrades will advise taking something like Xiaomi Redmi 3 and other similar purely Chinese gadgets. In general, I agree: the same “Redmi 3” is the right choice, but you must immediately be prepared for the fact that, most likely, you will have to study the w3bsit3-dns.com website forum to identify glitches, bugs, firmware and other things. Xiaomi is now worth about 10,000 rubles.
