Explay vega engineering menu codes. Service (secret) codes tablet Explay N1

Manufacturers of smartphones on Android for testing devices implement and use engineering menu. It contains all kinds of tests and device settings that are not available to ordinary users. However, today, knowing the USSD command or downloading the application from PlayMarket, anyone can enter the engineering menu.

Why do you need a hidden engineering menu in Android

The Engineering Menu is an inherently hidden application that developers use to test and set optimal parameters. mobile phone or tablet. Specialists check the operation of sensors and, if necessary, make adjustments to the functioning of system components.

When working with the Android technical menu, be careful - changing some of the functions leads to malfunctions of the device.

How to enter the menu

To open the menu set by the manufacturer, activate the dial pad on your smartphone and enter one of the USSD commands presented in the table. After entering the command, the numbers will disappear from the screen, and a menu will open instead.

Video: how to work in Engineer Mode

If the code does not work and in a standard way the service menu cannot be started, use third party applications- you can download them on Play Market. Recommended programs - "Start the MTK engineering menu", Mobileuncle Tools, Shortcut Master.

Manufacturers menu does not work on some device models with Android 4.2 JellyBean (x.x.1, x.x.2) and Android 5.1 Lollipop. Also the menu is invalid when installed firmware Cyanogen mod. In Android 4.4.2, the changes made in the application are reset on reboot.

"Launching the MTK engineering menu"

The application allows you to open and configure the engineering menu without a set of digital commands. Works correctly on MediaTek processors (MT6577, MT6589, etc.) and Android 2.x, 3.x, 4.x, 5.x systems. According to user reviews, the program successfully performs its functions, but after rebooting the smartphone, the settings made using the application are reset.

Mobileuncle Tools

The functionality of the application is similar to the previous one, but, in addition to accessing the engineering menu, the user gets the opportunity to view information about the screen, sensor and memory of the device, as well as update the firmware, restore the IMEI number and improve GPS. Root rights are required for stable operation.

Shortcut Master Utility

The Shortcut Master program is designed to work with shortcuts and system applications: create, search, delete. There is no direct function to enter the engineering menu. But with its help, you can view a list of secret commands that are active on your device. And by clicking on the name of the command, you will see a drop-down menu in which there will be an item "execute". Convenient and doesn't require any extra work.

Root rights to access the engineering menu

To get into the service menu on some versions of Android, the user must have superuser (root) rights. You can get rights using specialized applications: Farmaroot, UniversalAndRoot, Romaster SU and others. To root your device with Farmaroot:

  1. Install and run the program. Link in Google Play: //play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.farmaapps.filemanager&hl=en.
  2. If the application supports installing root rights on your device, then you will see a list of possible actions on the screen, among them - “Get root”. Select this item.
  3. Choose one of the preset root methods.
  4. The program will start installing.
  5. At the end of the procedure, you will see a message about the successful installing root access.

Possible problems and solutions:

  • the application closed in the middle of the installation - restart the device and try again;
  • Root rights were not installed - try installing using a different method (choose a new exploit in the application).

What can be configured in the menu

The appearance of the engineering mode and the options for adjusting the parameters may vary depending on the model of the tablet or smartphone. In the menu, users most often adjust the sound, change the camera settings and use the recovery mode. The adjustment parameters and procedure are shown below. Please note that menu item names may vary depending on the various models devices! You act at your own risk.

Audio: increase volume level

If your phone is not loud enough, find the Audio section in the engineering menu and go to LoudSpeaker Mode. Select Ring. For each signal level (level 1–6), change the values - set the numbers in ascending order, from 120 to 200. Increase the value in the Max. Vol - maximum 200. Press the SET button to save the settings.

Audio: increase the volume of a telephone conversation

To boost the tone of the speaker for conversations, in the Audio section of the service menu, select Normal mode and open the Sph. Set the values for the signal levels (level 1–6) from 100 to 150, and the number for Max. Vol. - up to 160.

To increase the sensitivity of the microphone, go to the menu Audio - Normal mode - Mic. For each level, assign the same microphone sensitivity values, for example, 200. Press the SET button, reboot and see if the other person hears you better.

Battery: disable unused frequencies

Smartphones quickly consume battery life for running applications, maintaining cellular communication and network connections. Using the engineering menu, you can increase the battery life.

Modern devices scan several GSM frequencies - 900/1800 MHz and 850/1900 MHz. In Russia, a pair of 900/1800 MHz operates, which means that there is no need to scan the network at other frequencies. The radio signal for the second pair can be turned off, which will significantly save the charge level.

In Engineer Mode, open the Band Mode item. Disable unused frequencies by unchecking the corresponding items - PCS1900 and GSM850. If the device supports two SIM cards, open SIM1 and SIM2 in turn and follow the steps in each. Press the SET button to save the settings.

If your smartphone and SIM card work in 3G networks, disable networks that are not used in Russia: WCDMA-PCS 1900, WCDMA-800, WCDMA-CLR-850. Press the SET button again.

You can enable scanning of disabled networks by returning to the same menu and checking the boxes.

Camera: photo and video settings

By default, Android devices save pictures in JPEG format. Meanwhile, photographers tend to shoot and process their footage in RAW for more editing options. The technical menu allows you to select the desired image format.

Find Camera in the menu and select Capture Type. Set the photo format to RAW and press SET. Also in the Camera menu, you can increase the size of pictures, set the ISO value, enable shooting in HDR for higher photo detail, set the frame rate for video. After changing each parameter, remember to press SET to save the settings.

recovery mode

recovery mode(Recovery mode) - analogue of Bios on a computer, allows you to manage the device without entering Android system. Recovery Mode Features:

  • resetting the settings to standard;
  • firmware update;
  • access to root rights;
  • creating a backup copy of the OS;
  • removal of personal data from the system.

In Recovery Mode, do not perform an action if you are not sure what it will lead to. Some commands can harm the device and the system.

If the settings are not saved

Users who have access to the technical menu complain that the parameters changed in it are not activated or are reset when the device is restarted.

To activate the settings after changing the parameters, tap on the SET button at the bottom of the screen. If the parameters are reset after the device is rebooted, try entering the technical menu not through the application, but using a digital command.

Service codes for Android devices

In addition to the technical menu, secret USSD codes allow you to control the functionality of Android smartphones - combinations of numbers and symbols, by typing which the user performs an action. Secret codes for different devices are given in the table.

Questions and comments about secret codes for Explay Vega

Ask a question about Explay Vega secret codes

Not many people know about the existence of a menu with advanced device settings in the Android OS - engineering menu . And someone knows, but does not know how to enter it and what to do with it.
In this article, we will show how to enter the engineering menu and some of its features.

You can enter the engineering menu simply by typing a special command (but you need to add that this method does not work for everyone Android versions and not on all devices)

The command to enter the engineering menu: *#*#3646633#*#*

Also, on some versions of Android, the command may work *#15963#* and*#*#4636#*#*

Immediately after entering, the command should disappear and the engineering menu will open. But on some devices, you still need to press the "Call" key

If this method does not work, you can use the alternative!

And it consists in installing the program (which, by the way, is freely available on Google Play) " Mobileuncle MTK Tools 2.4.0"

This program will open access to the engineering menu (that is, it will work similarly to a set of combinations*#*#3646633#*#*)

There are a lot of settings! The scope for experimentation is huge! You can debug and adjust almost EVERYTHING!

For clarity, let's briefly analyze the volume setting of the device:

We go into the program ---> select the section "Engineer Mode"

Because we are interested in setting the sound level, select ---> "Audio"

And voila, the menu of interest to us opens.

Max Vol - the same for the entire subsection, as a rule, it is set to 150 (you can change 0-160 - it changes if you select the Media item in the subsection).

If in some submenu, for example, Audio - Normal - Sph, the overall level is not available for adjustment, then enter another submenu, for example, Audio - Normal - Media - there you will be able to adjust the overall volume level.

Sub-points:
Sph - volume levels during a telephone conversation,
Mic - microphone sensitivity levels,
Ring - call volume,
Media - volume when playing music, movies, games.

Ring volume levels are set in Audio - LoudSpeaker - Ring
MaxVol=150
Levels: 120 130 145 160 180 200 (more starts wheezing)

Conversation volume levels in the phone speaker in Audio - Normal - Sph
MaxVol=150
Levels: 100 120 130 135 140 145 150

Microphone speaking volume levels in Audio - Normal - Mic
Levels: 100 172 172 172 172 172 172

Media volume levels are set in Audio - LoudSpeaker - Media

Levels: 110 130 160 190 210 230 250

All the same can be configured for the Headphone mode, by analogy:

Speaker volume levels are set in Audio - LoudSpeaker - Sph
Max Vol = 150 (it is the same for the entire section)
Levels: 80 100 110 120 130 140 150 (more starts wheezing)

Now all volumes are regulated in adequate ranges.
If you are not satisfied with the volume levels, you can set your own values (the larger the value, the greater the volume when adjusting the volume keys, or the greater the microphone sensitivity)

By analogy, you can customize most sections! Experiment!

Teach! Explay power and Explay power bank - it's two different phones, the first was produced earlier, but is now withdrawn from sale, and the second, on this moment, is produced and delivered to stores. But, the engineering menu settings are similar, and the entry code is the same.

And, in principle, the basic settings described in this article may be suitable for many Chinese phones.

It took two days and two sleepless nights to write this article and tweak the settings, the phone was flashed twice (plus twice unsuccessfully using the MultiPort program) ...

Using this menu, you can increase or decrease the volume during a conversation, increase or decrease the maximum volume of a call, audio player, key sound, adjust battery life, enable automatic call recording, and much more.
Code to enter the engineering menu: *39*3646#

ATTENTION!

There are known cases of complete failure of Explay Power phones after " playful crooked pens", which " there was something pressed"and after that the phone completely stopped turning on and working, sometimes it even becomes impossible to reflash it and all that remains is to carry it to a service center, and this is nerves + time + money, and no guarantees from service center.
Do not change unfamiliar settings if you are not sure!

ONLY YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR ALL ACTIONS WITH YOUR PHONE!

The Explay Power phone, although discontinued ( it's a pity! the flashlight conveniently turns on with it, regardless of the battery charge and the inclusion of the phone), but it was not so expensive ( 1950 rubles about a year ago), so you can experiment in principle, if you don’t mind ...
But I didn’t have any special irreparable problems, so see for yourself.

If the phone still does not turn on after these manipulations, or other serious problems arise, then try to reflash it again according to this instruction on the forum.explays.ru forum, this will reset the engineering menu settings, BUT, for this, in the settings FlashTool you have to check the box Format Fat" (third tick), which will lead to RESET IMEI which we don't need.

And you can restore it only from a previously made backup, but at the same time, the engineering menu settings will be restored again - a vicious circle ...

All SMS in the phone are also deleted and the phone memory is erased ( although there memory is ... 145 kilobytes, but still, I store in it beautiful background desktops, so that if there are problems with the flash drive, the standard background is not installed - I recommend doing the same).

To do this, first remove the SIM cards, and preferably a flash drive. Find this item in the phone settings menu, select " Restore All", enter the phone code ( default 0000), and all settings will be reset, as well as SMS, the contents of the phone memory, contacts in the phone memory - it will all go away again, but IMEI will be saved, which is what we need.

And before any actions with the phone, MAKE A BACKUP using the program FlashTool, the instruction is also on the forum, at the link above!

As for the audio settings. Please note that in the Explay Power engineering menu, some values, for example for the parameters " Volume"and others, numeric keypad cannot be entered, only with the joystick - key " Up" and " Way down".

Accordingly, if you start changing the number from " 0 " the numbers will be even if "scroll down" is the opposite of 255 , then the numbers will be odd - it's not scary.
If you see a value here, for example " 123 ", and you can only set 124 or 122 , 120 , or vice versa, then it's okay - choose the closest value.

Or you can pervert - "scroll" to zero or 255 , and then back to the desired value, but it makes no sense to do so. plus minus 1 -2 it won’t play a role here, all the more, I generally came up with these values from the bulldozer, by trial and error, maybe I made a mistake somewhere, but everything suits me in the phone’s work ( Almost all).

Apply settings in the engineering menu: enter a new value (or all values within one item), press " SET", go back a couple of points using the " Back", then the phone will ask: update parameter?- click " Yes", and after that either exit the menu completely, or continue the setup.

Achtung! After some settings, the phone may need to be rebooted ( turn off and on), but in the case of audio settings, in the vast majority of cases this is not necessary.
Just after turning on the phone again, the phone may turn off, it is better to check this by calling it and the audio player.

And further: " Max analog gain" and " step" in " 16 Level Setting" - is always the same for all parameters in the current mode: microphone, radio, speaker, etc., it is enough to change it once in any of the items in each mode. It affects the sixteen-level volume control, and, in fact, the overall volume of all ( or almost all, here it’s a little unclear to me myself) items of each of the three modes.

Do not confuse!

black font, next to the names of the parameters - the new values \u200b\u200bthat I set when setting up the phone are indicated.

[In blue in square brackets] - the standard values of the parameters are indicated, which are installed immediately after flashing the Explay Power with the firmware version 1.03 .

Go!

We open the engineering menu in Explay Power, for this we type on the keyboard *39*3646# , and here first let's select the item " Audio" - audio settings:

Set Mode- selects the current mode for tests, you can leave it alone, almost useless thing.

normal mode (normal mode, here you can adjust the volume of the call without a headset and withoutspeakerphone, i.e. via front speaker, key volume, sensitivitymicrophone, etc.):
---
FIR (Explay Power owners on the Internet write that you need to set the value " 2 " or " 3 ", this isimproves the audibility of the interlocutor during a conversation and increases the quality of the voice in general - II personally did not notice any obvious changes, but just in case I changed it to " 2 "is worsedefinitely not): 2 (It was : 0 )

Step : 4

---
FM Radio (the volume of the FM radio, to be honest, I don’t understand in which of the modes - a loudspeaker or a regular one, and I didn’t check (too lazy) where exactly the volume of the radio depends on this point, because 3 modes: ordinary, speaker and headset, but the radio can only play " into speaker" and " into the earpiece", why then the third mode? But just in case, I changed it, and logically, it is this normal mode that should affect playback through the speaker):
Volume 0 : 16
Volume 1 : 48
Volume 2 : 88
Volume 3 : 112
Volume 4 : 152
Volume 5: 204
Volume 6 : 255

Volume 5 : 4

Volume 6 : 4

16 Level Setting
Max analog gain: 200

Step : 4

---
Melody (the volume of music playback in the player, while the sound on full volume wheezes a little, but loudly, but I highly do not recommend turning the volume of the player "to the full", it drains the battery very quickly, and accordingly reduces its service life faster, but loudly, a little bit of a couple of tracks is sometimes possible, and on quiet tracks it will be especially useful to make it louder):
Volume 0 : 4

Max analog gain: 200

Step : 4

---
FM Radio (it is not clear, just like in normal mode, which of the modes controls the volume of radio playback through the speaker, but still we change everywhere, the radio itself is usually quiet here, so we do it to the full):
Volume 0 : 20
Volume 1 : 40

Volume 2 : 80

Volume 3 : 120

Volume 4 : 148

Volume 5 : 200

16 Level Setting
Max analog gain: 186
Step : 4
---

side tone(as usual - do not change): 0

With the audio settings, everything, go back.

Next, there is a paragraph: Ring tone.
It can be used to listen to the sound of standard melodies directly from the engineering menu in order to understand how much we have adjusted the volume ( wheeze don't wheeze), you can try after changing the current mode in the first paragraph Set Mode, but it's best to exit the engineering menu after all the changes, and try to check everything "live" - call the phone, open the player, before that it is advisable to turn off and on the phone, because sometimes it starts to fail just after the next reboot - it was I have this once with these settings, everything seems to be fine, but with an incoming call at any volume, the melody wheezes and "like a pipe." Only flashing Power "a helped, now after flashing with the same audio calibrations - everything is in order.
---
Speech enhancement: do not touch, this dregs are still the same, it is not clear how and what, they write on the forums that at this point they change the properties of the DAC (Digital-to-analog converter) of the phone, but we do not need it.

But, however, I risked changing one parameter from there. As the owners of Explay Power write on the forums everywhere and all, you can change one parameter - and the voice of the interlocutor during a conversation becomes cleaner and more legible.

Others say it increases high frequencies when talking, which has a very good effect on the intelligibility of the voice. I personally didn’t notice anything like that, but just in case I changed it, maybe it’s really better, but not worse - which is the most important

We open Speech enhancement> select normal mode> select Parameter 6, it should be equal to " 400 ", change this value to " 1 "and press OK.
And I changed a lot in the sixth parameter from 400 on the 1 also in Headset and Loudsp mode and everything seems to be fine.
We leave Speech enhancement.
---
Next we see the parameter Max Swing Which is somehow connected with vibration during calls (and SMS or something). And as soon as I did not change it - no difference. So we don’t touch him, he is equal 12800 , let it be.
---
Next item debug info- something related to debugging, you should not go there.
---
And the last item in the audio options - Auto Record Setting.
There are settings for automatic recording of conversations, this is a useful thing, quietly writes all conversations to the memory card in the folder " Audio". That's just what the hell is this function hidden in the engineering menu, and why is it not in the phone menu Explay power- unclear. Well, okay, the main thing is that there is.
There are two options here:
VM Support : off [off]- when this option is enabled, the voice recorder has the ability to record conversations except for formats AMR and WAW also in the format VM. It is not clear to me what kind of format this is, the phone easily reproduces such recordings, but how to reproduce this format on a computer *. VM, or convert, it's also not clear to me. Therefore, I did not turn it on, let the recorder write better in WAV in high quality, there is still a lot of space on the flash drive.

And the second parameter Auto Speech Record [off]- enable or disable automatic recording of all conversations.

Everything by audio. After changing all the parameters, do not forget to go back a couple of points so that the settings are saved, and double-check them with the subsequent entry into the engineering menu, suddenly something was not saved, or you forgot to change something - it happens.

This applies not only to audio properties, but also to all changes that you make in the engineering menu.

What else is in the engineering menu Explay power:
network setting- do not touch
GPRS act- tests like, also do not touch
debug info- also it does not interest us
Bluetooth- there are some tests, it's better not to go there

There are two items left: misc." and " device"They are of interest to us.
Let's start simple:

misc.- by selecting this item, 5 parameters appear on the screen:
---
Auto Answer: off [off] (automatic call acceptance after a few seconds when a headset is connected, turn off, not convenient)
---
RAM Test- when pressed, it tests some memory, you do not need to touch this item
---
memory dump : off [off]- something is leaking memory), we don’t need it either, we don’t turn it on
---
Internet Application (the item has parameters, they refer to the built-in browser andMMS client, they set the headers that are sent to the opened sites on the Internet, through the built-in browser, for example, this phone can be identified by sites like Nokia N93. all settings can be changed - but there is no point in this - and even no show-offs):
> User agent : default (the title by which the sites will determine the phone model, as I understand it, the sites do not understand the default title, and they do not correctly determine the phone model as Explay Power, but you can install at least N72 - however, I repeat, this makes no sense)
> Accept Header : WAP 2.0 (the header by which the sites determine in what format to send the site page to the phone)
> MMS Version : MMS 1.0 (MMS version, I don’t know what this parameter affects, let it be 1.0)
---
Auto Test List- a list of tested phone nodes, I don’t know when this test passes (maybe when it is turned on, but it’s unlikely, then it would blink and fart every time it was turned on, but this doesn’t happen), maybe after entering special. code or when connected to certain Chinese equipment for tests - I don’t even know. You don't need to go there and change something!
---
AT misc. there is nothing more to configure, let's go back.

And the last item of the Explay Power engineering menu: device- there are a lot of parameters, but you can only touch some where I was tinkering, THE OTHERS DO NOT NEED TO TOUCH, I don’t know why they are needed, I don’t touch, and I don’t advise you!
I will list everything:
---
LCD - fine tuning display - it's better not to touch it, then you won't see anything on the screen!
---
GPIO- categorically do not touch, I do not know why it is
---
PWM- also incomprehensible, do not touch
---
ADC- and here you can see the voltage of the battery, the voltage charger, something similar to the level of current consumption, well, in general information useful (especially for battery calibration in Set default level, more on that below).
---
Set default level- item has 5 subparagraphs 4 of which it is better not to touch:
it MainLCD Contrast, PWM 1, PWM2 and PWM 3 We don't touch them, we don't need it.
---
AT Set default level fifth point:
Battary- which is responsible for battery levels, it has 10 parameters(levels), which are responsible, if I'm not mistaken, for the displayed battery level, and indicate to the phone when to turn off the power when charging ( P correct me if i'm wrong ), and as a result of reducing the first two parameters, you can slightly increase the battery life of the phone, BUT IT WILL REDUCE THE BATTERY LIFE SO MUCH, SO JUST YOU(it’s not clear where to find a new battery for Explay Power now), I experimentally reduced the first two parameters, now the phone doesn’t seem to turn off at the most inopportune moment:
LEV1 : 3250000 [ 3450000 ]
LEV2 : 3450000 [ 3500000 ]
LEV3 : 3550000 [ 3550000 ]
LEV4 : 3600000 [ 3600000 ]
LEV5 : 3650000 [ 3650000 ]
LEV6 : 3700000 [ 3700000 ]
LEV7 : 3850000 [ 3850000 ]
LEV8 : 4050000 [ 4050000 ]
LEV 9 : 9999999 [ 9999999 ]
LEV 10 : 9999999 [ 9999999 ]

Basically, as I understand again, correct me if I'm wrong ) - these levels are equal to the battery voltage in volts.
That is, for example, 3250000 = 3.25 volts, and the current voltage can be viewed in ADC, I wrote about this above. According to the current settings, it turns out that the phone will not turn off until the battery is discharged to 3.25 volts, not to 3,45 as it was before with factory settings and after flashing, which will slightly prolong one charge, and even though the phone will beep, it will ring and should not turn off ( Explay Power does not disable the function of outgoing calls when the battery is critically low, it will ring until the last breath, but the brand new Explay Power Bank has such a DISADVANTAGE - there is still a lot of charge, but you can no longer make calls, only incoming calls. What about the meaning? Therefore, I like the old Explay Power more, and this is not its only plus compared to the "power bank", the "bank" of course has its pluses - but they are not important for me, I am the owner of Explay Power - and as a "dialer" it completely satisfies my requirements ).

And yet, theoretically, in a very emergency situation, when you need to make a call, you can call an ambulance, or call somewhere else, if your phone is turned off, you can try to turn it on ( although most likely without recharging for at least half a minute this will not work) and quickly get into the engineering menu until it turns off, turn down the first level LEV 1, for example up to 3150000 , 3100000 , or even immediately before 3000000 , and a couple of three calls, again, theoretically, you will have time to make - but this is a strong extreme case, you should not do this, you can disable the phone.

After all, it is not known how the phone will behave at such a low voltage (it's like plugging a computer into a power outlet without 220 volt and volt 80 Will it turn on at this voltage? Will it fail and lose data on the disk? Here ..), and I turned down quite a bit, and everything seems to be working fine.
---
Set UART- Here is the port setting. This item is responsible for determining the phone by the computer when connected via a USB cable. When fiddling with settings Set UART, there is a chance to cut down the COM port that appears during the firmware, if you turn it off and mess with the engineer, you won’t be able to flash and return your phone to work, so I don’t go there.
---
sleep mode : enable [ Enable]- do not change
---
DCM Mode : enable [ Enable]- do not change
---
FM Radio- in this item of the FM radio settings, there is no point in changing them, for some reason they are not saved ...
---
PMU register settings- do not touch, I do not know what kind of registers it is.
---

Some of these parameters may be compatible with the new Explay Power Bank, but this is not a fact, since the processors, characteristics, and in the end the dynamics are different.

That's all the engineering menu, and it's okay if you don't go where you don't need to! The most important thing is the sound and the battery.

I made all the volume settings, albeit "by eye", but they allow you to slightly add sound in excess of the possible factory settings, for example, in the player, loud tracks will wheeze, and quiet ones will just play louder, which I wrote about earlier.

If I missed something important or made a mistake somewhere, after all, the article turned out to be relatively large, I could confuse or forget something - write about it in the comments to the article, your options and corrections of my calibrations are also welcome.
