Samsung galaxy s7 explode on the plane. What phone is not allowed on the plane

Last August, passengers flying on various airlines heard an unusual announcement at the airport for the first time. It concerned all passengers and consisted of a ban on taking Samsung smartphones on board the aircraft. This was due to the events that took place repeatedly after the release of a new smartphone model. Users who purchased the new model reported that their new smartphones exploded while charging.

In this regard, Samsung first announced a delay in production, but soon, when more and more statements about the explosion began to appear, it was announced that the production of this model was discontinued and the gadgets were recalled. Many began to wonder: what kind of phone explodes on an airplane? Of course, it is far from a fact that a smartphone (more precisely, its battery) will explode during the flight. However, the model Samsung Galaxy Note 7 this probability is many times higher due to a mistake made by the developers of this gadget.

Already 30 days after the appearance of this gadget on sale, more than 33 cases of phone explosions were recorded. Each of these incidents led to different consequences. In some cases, only the gadget itself was damaged. And, for example, the case of an explosion in the United States ended with the fact that the owner of the gadget burned down not only the smartphone, but also the car.

According to the statements of air carriers, which introduced such a rule on their own initiative, the ban was not agreed with the aviation authorities. However, the air carrier must first of all take care of the safety of passengers and crew during the flight, and therefore this measure was simply necessary to exclude the possibility of a gadget explosion and, as a possible consequence, a plane crash.

Carriers have banned flying with such gadgets:

  • Aeroflot;
  • Lufthansa;
  • AirAsia;
  • Air France;
  • Singapore Airlines and others.

The recall of smartphones affected 10 states. By the time the production was stopped, the manufacturer managed to supply 2.5 million smartphones of the new model. Only after that the gadgets were withdrawn. All users who ordered a prepaid phone were given the right to get their money back. Today there is an official ban on the transportation of a new model of Samsung smartphones. Ban confirmed by FAA and IATA. Therefore, almost every air carrier today notifies passengers before a flight that this gadget cannot be carried.

The ban does not mean that you have to leave your smartphone at the airport. He will be able to fly with you on the same plane in his luggage. However, at the same time, this gadget cannot be turned on on board, and it is also forbidden to try to charge the smartphone during the flight.

Even if you have a smartphone of the same model, but a later version that does not have a battery defect, airlines will still not allow you to carry such a device on board. Carriers will not be able to determine whether a given gadget is safe. Therefore, in any case, the ban will remain in effect for a long time for the safety of passengers and crew.

Burnt smartphone

A lithium-ion battery explodes at a very high temperature - more than 1300 degrees. On board an aircraft, this is especially dangerous, as it can happen that the aluminum begins to melt. Knowing which phone is not allowed on the plane, it is also worth knowing that for the same reason, for safety reasons during the flight, some carriers do not allow passengers to carry lithium-ion batteries large capacity (for example, batteries of gyroscopes, unicycles, etc.). Chinese airlines do not allow any batteries to be carried on board. Such a ban is established for the same reason: the risk of battery explosion, which can lead to a plane crash.

Explosion Samsung Galaxy

Last year, a case was recorded when a smartphone exploded during a flight on an airplane. It was a Galaxy Note 2 model. Previously, there were no such cases with this phone model. The incident occurred during a flight from Singapore to Chennai aboard an airliner owned by IndiGo. At some point, passengers heard a sound resembling cotton. After that, smoke began to leak from one compartment for hand luggage. What measures were taken by the crew is unknown. However, they did everything in such a way that the plane landed safely, and none of the passengers were injured.

At least two major airlines banned flights with Samsung smartphones over the weekend: passengers from Lufthansa and Singapore Airlines, AirAsia, Air France and KLM will not be allowed on board with Korean technology.

Most likely, in the near future the ban will be introduced in other airlines that are members of the Skyteam, Oneworld alliances, and independent carriers.

UPD: As of September 13, bans have been introduced on highest level recommendations of the FAA and IATA, therefore, they are now in force in most airlines in the world.

The ban applies to carrying smartphones in baggage, as well as turning them on on board if they are with the passenger. You can not try to charge them.

It's about the latest smartphone samsung galaxy Note 7, which, due to a mistake by the developers, turned into a “time bomb”: in the month that has passed since the start of sales of the new product, more than 35 cases of spontaneous explosion or fire of the device were recorded. The other day in the US, because of Note 7, a car completely burned down.

Lithium-ion battery burns at temperatures over 1300 degrees; in an aircraft, this is especially dangerous as it will melt the aluminum.
Recall that it is precisely because of the risk of spontaneous combustion lithium ion batteries most airlines in the world do not accept devices with high-capacity batteries (for example, hoverboards, segways, unicycles) for carriage in baggage. In a number of countries, for example, in China, no batteries can be transported on an airplane at all.

Currently, production of the Galaxy Note 7 has stopped, and on September 2, Samsung officially announced the recall of all smartphones sold. Everyone who pre-ordered the device with a prepayment (in Russia it is about 900 people) can return the funds in full.

However, airlines can't tell if your Note 7 is from the first explosive batches or later that will fix the issue, so the ban won't be lifted for the foreseeable future. So before you fly somewhere, take care of buying a legal smartphone.

It's been an eventful week as MWC 2016, the key telecom event of the year, showed off the major devices of the near future and gave us all a glimpse of what's in store for us in the near future. There is no point in repeating what happened in Barcelona in Spillikins, more than a dozen materials from the exhibition have been published, you can find them in the appropriate section or read the MWC 2016 Navigator.

The topic of the confrontation between the FBI and Apple, which we discussed last week, is reaching a new level in America, it has attracted a lot of attention. But until March 1, no real action will be taken, Apple has this delay. Therefore, we will certainly return to the discussion of this issue later. I have not forgotten about him and follow with great interest how events unfold. In the meantime, I want to talk about what happens every year.

No one needs flagships, record pre-orders and reflections on the topic

Every year, with the release of the flagships of different companies, an old song about the main thing begins, part of the audience on the network begins to whine that these devices are boring, they cannot brew coffee and no revolutions have occurred, which means that they will all fail and nothing good will happen. For me, most of these messages have long turned into information noise, in which the authors are trying to show themselves, to show off their erudition around a popular topic and its discussion. And it doesn't matter what brand it concerns - Apple, Samsung, HTC, Sony. Part of the audience always defaults to a position in which they say that nothing good has happened.

This time at MWC 2016 they showed Samsung flagships, about which I wrote in detail at the time of the announcement. Let me remind you that “no one needs rattles of a Korean company” are the leaders of the world market, which can be called highly competitive, since there are more than a hundred manufacturers on it. No one needs Samsung's flagships so much that over and over again they lead in sales in most markets, second only to Apple in the US, and a similar picture in a number of small markets. In the same Russia, Apple's share in pieces is an impressive 6% of the market, which someone can consider a success, but I consider it a very modest indicator arising from the cost of the iPhone, which is prohibitively high compared to the Galaxy, which is also better. But it's the lyrics that don't play a big role.

Traditionally, when pre-ordering Samsung flagships, gifts are given. Last year it was wireless charging or external batteries, it is proposed to get Gear VR virtual reality glasses for free. In Russia, exactly the same story, you can leave a pre-order and get this accessory when buying a phone in the first days.

To place a pre-order, you do not need any payment, it is enough to leave your coordinates, which many people use when leaving orders with different players. Therefore, it is difficult to judge real sales by the number of pre-orders, and it is not necessary, they turn out to be much less. For example, for a thousand such orders, as a rule, about 50-150 phones are sold, depending on the country. But if we evaluate the relative parameters, namely the growth in the number of orders from year to year, then we get a curious situation. In 2016, pre-orders for Europe grew by 2.5-3.5 times. Stunning growth, which is difficult to explain simply, but we will try to find the answer together.

Obviously, the fact is that Samsung launched an aggressive advertising campaign in Europe, on the posters they talk about a gift in the form of Gear VR to everyone who ordered the device before March 10th. It is possible that this campaign played a role, especially against the background of the absence of any advertising activities from competitors, the same Apple is now not spending money on promoting the 6th, which many are fed up with because of the design, and people are waiting for the seventh generation, which Apple and will actively promote the fall.

In the first month of sales, about 17 million Galaxy S7/S7 EDGE will be shipped to the channel worldwide, slightly more than last year's S6/S6 EDGE (65/35 ratio). The company is cautious about sales, as they believe that the global crisis will not allow the flagship segment to grow aggressively in 2016-2017, in such conditions, maintaining its share in absolute sales is already an achievement. But judging by how things are shaping up, these devices will grow in sales, as their perception in the market is extremely positive. The models turned out to be successful, even if there are no revolutions in them, but the average consumer does not need them.

I was often asked the question of what to choose, Galaxy S7 or iPhone 6s, S7 EDGE or Plus. I will definitely record a video with reflections on this topic, but, in my opinion, everything is obvious. In one case, we have devices that are technologically ahead of the market and offer the best there is, from battery life to camera quality and other aspects; bugs. Everyone has their own head on their shoulders, and everyone chooses what he likes. There is no point in arguing about this, and there is no need.

But there is always one thing that baffles me personally. The person listens to the arguments why the same Galaxy is better, and then says: "Still, you need to choose the iPhone, since in terms of image it is cooler." This is Apple magic from the past, which is gradually disappearing, but is still strong in the minds, and this must be recognized. If your image depends on the phone, then I sympathize with you. I sincerely sympathize. The phone is a tool; it cannot say much about you. In the world social networks The quality of the photos and places you take will tell you more about you. But not your phone. You can buy a Vertu and sit in your neighborhood, going out to the local bar on weekends, but that doesn't give you the image of someone successful. Perhaps you should not live someone else's life and try to show some worthless nonsense for unknown viewers.

The phone is a tool for life, but it cannot become an end in itself and a sign that everything is fine with you in this life. I'm a little uncomfortable explaining these obvious things, and it doesn't matter what you choose in the end - Apple, Samsung, Sony or something else. The most important thing is your attitude to the subject - if you think that this piece of iron has some kind of image that lifts you above others or refers you to some group of people, then believe me, you have serious problems with the fact that you do in this life and how you live. You belong to the crowd from which you have never tried to stand out, and you obey the rules of this crowd.

I am aware that many will simply not understand what is written and will stop at the wrong meaning, namely that Apple is bad and Samsung is good. Reread what was said in the paragraph above, there is not a word about it, it is about the attitude towards the phone as an object. And it all depends on perception. I know many people who use mass phones, but do not build them into a cult. For them, this is a convenient tool, and they do not think that devices should be proud or exalted. And that's okay. It's wrong when it's the other way around.

Do you really think that one thing in isolation from other moments of life can tell a lot about you? A man in a washed-out jacket, shoes shattered to holes, but with an expensive phone of the latest model raises many questions. Anyway, that's how it is for me. In most situations, I believe that this is a narrow-minded person who lives beyond his means. In exactly the same way, people who are trying to live a life that is not their own, buy cars that they cannot service (but a cool and fashionable car!), Go on vacation so that then they live on bread and water for two years. Balance is important in life, this is something everyone should learn on their own. And believe that phones are the last thing you need to start building your image and lifestyle. This is a tool that can do a lot for you, especially if you know how to use it and know exactly what you need from it. But just the fact of owning a phone of any brand will not make you someone else, someone new. Come to terms with the fact that you can’t change your life so quickly, with one purchase. Stop believing in fairy tales.

Share your thoughts on what you think phones are in the comments. What is image for you? What are status things for you and what things a person should have? And should it? But try to keep yourself within the bounds of decency, despite the severity of the discussion.

Are batteries banned on airplanes? Debriefing

I often get calls from various radio stations, from newspapers about certain issues related to telecoms and electronics. In most cases, journalists read out a news item they find in another publication and ask them to comment on it. Very often in a note everything is turned upside down, the original meaning is lost, and there is no time to read the source, so the result is a comment not on the event, but in fact on some note in which the author outlined how he understood the story. With the transportation of batteries on airplanes, something like this happened, in the media it was inflated to an unimaginable scale, although the initial news deserved the attention of a small number of electronics manufacturers, it did not affect ordinary passengers flying in any way.

The international organization responsible for aviation safety, which includes most of the world's airlines, is constantly developing rules and standards for flight safety, including those related to cargo carried on aircraft. Someone noticed in the updated rules for Li-Ion batteries, which will take effect from April 1, 2016, a ban on the transportation of a certain amount of batteries. And publications rushed to reprint this information, many discussions began. In fact, it's worth taking a look at the original document, you can find it.

Do you want to laugh? The document is titled: Lithium batteries as cargo in 2016.” The word "cargo" means exclusively commercial cargo, and if you read the document, you will understand that we are talking about them, and there is not a single line about passengers and their luggage. The actual changes affect commercial cargo, which can be considered positive, since the rules now prohibit taking commercial cargo of batteries on passenger aircraft. Some airlines practice the delivery of goods by scheduled aircraft, making an exception for the weight, size and type of cargo, however, this is possible. Batteries were almost never carried on such flights, but now this ban has been put on paper.

More interestingly, by default, the battery charge should not exceed 30% of their nominal capacity. This was not spelled out in the previous rules, and it is this paragraph that may create additional costs for some manufacturers. You can also charge the batteries fully, but in this case additional documents are required, as well as certain marks on the packaging. These are expenses that will not be cosmic, but will affect the cost of batteries. But in general, they will practically not affect the final price of such devices.

Now let's take a moment to look at how different companies regulate the transportation of batteries in passengers' luggage. China Air immediately comes to mind, the company has a draconian approach to what it allows passengers to take on board. The rules in the original presentation can be found.

So, you can’t take external batteries in luggage, they can only be in hand luggage! The number of such batteries with a capacity of 100 to 160 Wh cannot exceed two. Batteries of higher capacity are not allowed for transportation and are confiscated at the airport, as well as lighters, knives and the like.

To begin with, many external batteries do not have any markings, especially if they come from China. As a rule, such batteries are confiscated at the border, since it is believed that the capacity can be any. Often the manufacturer does not indicate the capacity in Wh, as a result, there are additional instructions, they indicate a capacity of 12000 mAh, which is unfair, since such portable batteries have a real capacity of 45-50 Wh. But no one cares about fairness in safety matters, so the batteries can be seized.

For example, Samsung deliberately limited the capacity of its external batteries to 11300 mAh so that users would avoid certain restrictions and not fall into the trap of aviation bans.

Most of these restrictions apply to airlines in Asia, while in Europe and the United States, and even more so in Africa, external batteries are overlooked and not particularly zealous, removing them from passengers' luggage. In the US, when checking in a few batteries in your luggage, you will most likely find that it was checked additionally by opening the locks. If you have a suitcase with a TSA key, then it's okay, but if you have a padlock, then you can safely say goodbye to it.

In my opinion, a pair of batteries with a capacity of up to 12000 mAh is enough for an ordinary person, the main thing is that they have markings on them. And then there will be no problems. And the hysteria in the media that batteries will be banned from being carried in passengers’ luggage is a typical example of how many people simply cannot read and draw conclusions by bumping into familiar words - “airplane”, “ban”, “batteries”, “passenger ". They build some kind of logical picture of the world from these words. But these stories have nothing to do with the real world and initial information.

BRITECELL technology, Sony modules and Galaxy S7/S7 EDGE image quality

I, as well as most people, have always been surprised that Sony makes camera modules that work great in Samsung phones, but exactly the same matrices in their own devices give invariably the worst result. Let me remind you that in the Galaxy S6 and devices of that generation, both modules from Sony and their own matrices, which were produced by Samsung, were used on an equal footing. No inscriptions on the boxes, the ability to find out only by using special software. The quality of the output photos is plus or minus the same, but meticulous people claimed that Sony definitely wins, and even made corresponding comparisons. But the topic did not go to the people, most of the shooting quality suited them.

I repeatedly explained the difference in the quality of shooting Sony and Samsung products with different software, when one company could improve it, while the other could not. Sony Mobile didn't leverage Sony's camera expertise, while at Samsung the two divisions worked together to make a tangible difference. Then Sony switched to this scheme of work, but the result remained the same or close to that. Sony made excellent modules, but the cameras in their own smartphones were still inferior to other companies.

The Galaxy S7/S7 EDGE uses a module Sony cameras IMX260 (a year earlier IMX240), which was created specifically for Samsung. On the Sony website, such products usually do not receive descriptions, moreover, they cannot be bought by other manufacturers.

I did not manage to find a sane description of the IMX260, and this is not so important, since the main innovations were explained during Galaxy presentations S7. So, the company increased the lens aperture f/1.7 (f/1.9 a year earlier), while also increasing the pixel size to 1.4 microns, which makes it possible to get more information on the matrix. In Britecell, the pixel size is one micron, and it immediately turns out that this technology is not used in the IMX260, judging by the information that we had before. But everything is not so clear, let's try to figure it out.

To begin with, the S7 is the first device on the market that has focusing over the entire area of \u200b\u200bthe matrix, that is, one hundred percent of the pixels are involved in phase detection autofocus.

The reduced resolution of the matrix is explained by its new structure; it is not the resolution that comes to the fore, but the quality of the photo. An attempt to find something similar in the line from Sony for their devices showed that the flagship for 2016-2017 is the IMX318 module, which also has hybrid autofocus, as well as three-axis electronic image stabilization.

Description of the module can be found.

Curiously, according to Sony Research, this module is the first in the world with hybrid autofocus as of February 16, 2016, while we know that the IMX260 is manufactured by Sony and already has such capabilities. And not just produced, but produced since the end of 2015. An innocent deception can be forgiven, as Sony tried to show that they were the first with their product.

The resolution of the matrix is up to 22.5 megapixels, the pixel size is 1 micron, the matrix itself is 1/2.6 inch (earlier matrices were 1/2.4 inch, that is, larger). Despite this, the quality of the picture, according to Sony, has become higher. Here we see a slightly different approach than Samsung, where the resolution was sacrificed for the sake of a better picture, more natural color reproduction. But the mystery remains unsolved, why doesn't Sony use its IMX260 developments?

I tormented many people with this question, both at Sony and at Samsung, until one of the Korean top managers got bored and he literally said the following: “They can’t do this under the contract with us.” Finding out the details led to very curious information that is not possible to verify, since only a few people are aware of the situation, both in one and in another company, so take this data as it is.

So, Samsung is constantly looking for ways to reduce the cost of components and does not shy away from placing orders on the side, if it provides volume and quality at a lower cost. Sony makes excellent modules and at the same time provides a lower cost than in-house production. But Samsung has not been interested in releasing mass modules for a long time, in which there is no addition of the company's technologies, those technologies that make the quality of images higher. Therefore, when transferring production to Sony, it is also given a license to release modules with these technologies, while restrictions are imposed on their use in their own developments, software. This restriction extends to one year, as far as I understand, this is the minimum period. It turns out that Samsung is giving away its technology for production on the side, in return receiving large batches of camera modules at a good price. Sony receives huge orders that feed the company, but at the same time they sacrifice their own developments, they are inferior in the quality of cameras on their smartphones. What Samsung is doing is very interesting - they not only get a quality and cheaper product, relieve themselves of the need to invest in their own expensive production, but also limit a potential competitor in its products. Cunningly. But the main thing is that the competitor himself is only happy about this.

Sony will only start shipping the IMX318 in May, priced at 2,000 yen ($17.50). Very often when calculating the BOM of a sheet for Galaxy phones I see numbers that are very high, for example, cameras are estimated in the range of 20 to 25 dollars, while their real cost is at the level of 15-20 dollars. So in the case of the Galaxy S7, the cost of the camera from Sony is about $14. This is a low cost for a product of this quality, perhaps due to both the volume and the fact that Sony receives part of the development for free, which in a year will be able to use in their devices.

Maybe you, as a user, are not interested in the relationship of companies, who and what buys from them. But I can note that during the week I try to take pictures on the Galaxy S7 EDGE (the same camera in the S7) in different conditions and so far I am completely delighted with the camera. I did not think that something could be invented here, but the company has expanded the capabilities of the camera, now the time when you can comfortably shoot has increased, twilight has been added, in which the pictures did not come out so bright and beautiful before. In a word, all the capabilities of cameras that were already the best on the market have grown. But they have become even better, I especially like the color reproduction of the pictures. Look at the examples, you can evaluate them yourself. AT full review I will definitely talk about the camera in detail.

Wi-Fi repeater from your phone is a secret feature of the Galaxy S7

It is impossible to write a review when you use the phone for a few minutes at the company's booth and this device is not your main one. Then there are materials that lack many "chips" that the manufacturer himself did not talk about, just as others did not find them. With Galaxy S7 I have permanent job, has already discovered many "little things" that distinguish Samsung flagships from other Android smartphones and will later become part of Android itself. I want to talk about one of these chips.

Usually, when you turn on the hotspot on your phone, it instantly turns off Wi-Fi, you can’t use both at the same time.

On the Galaxy S7/S7 EDGE, I suddenly found that when turning on Wi-Fi is connecting with wireless network, but your hotspot doesn't turn off. There are two icons in the status bar.

Further - more and even more interesting. All phones connected to the Galaxy S7 start using its Wi-Fi connection instead of mobile transmission data from it. Up to this point, the Wi-Fi router scenario has never been mobile phones not used as widely.

Who might need it and why? For example, when traveling, I very often encounter a limit on the number of connected devices in hotels. With the help of the Galaxy S7 features, these restrictions on the number of devices are a thing of the past, now I am writing a text, and a dozen of my phones are hanging on one connection through the Galaxy S7 EDGE. And most importantly, I don’t need to waste time at all and enter my last name, room number and leave mailing address. Same story in restaurants, cafes, and other places where I can share my connection without having to enter Wi-Fi settings on each device. Cool? Undoubtedly.

Another question is that this function is not so necessary for the vast majority of people. At home, this is an opportunity to distribute your Internet to those corners of the apartment where your router does not finish off. At the same time, check whether it is worth buying a regular Wi-Fi repeater and whether it will work.

As always, I believe that it is better to let the device have additional functions, which are not required so often, but when they are needed, you will be grateful to them than you will not have such functions. Do you need a Wi-Fi repeater function?

Crazy pens, or how to reflash a phone and get money

Hello Eldar.

Once I read your article "The Indian electronics market. How it works. An example of MicroMax", extremely interesting, thanks. And then the other day a situation arose, thanks to which I remembered about it, I thought, maybe you will be interested.

Many users of the Micromax Bolt D303, which is sold by Megafon for a promotion, are looking for alternative firmware for it. By default, the device comes with Android 4.4.2, but people found a firmware for it from the Indian D304, which is completely identical in characteristics, but comes already with 5.1 Lollipop. However, after flashing, users found that the phone itself sends SMS to Indian numbers. In general, I decided to "take apart" how it works and what kind of information is sent to the Indian manufacturer when registering the device.

So, let's see what we managed to unearth during the research. I will briefly outline the main points from the article.

The OS is preinstalled on the phone by default. Google Android 4.4.2, however, there are many models, even from the same manufacturer, on the same chipset, but with Android 5.1 Lollipop. For example, Micromax D304, which, as far as I know, is not officially presented in Russia yet. Naturally, some users caught fire with a completely reasonable idea, but what if we flash the D303 with the firmware from the D304? Will it work or not? Finding the firmware from the device in our time is not a problem, especially since there are many really useful resources, for example, the same NeedROM, where you can find firmware for many devices. One user checked this method, i.e. I flashed my D303 with firmware from Micromax D304, designed for the Indian version of the device, and, judging by his words, everything worked for him. After that, the firmware was simply re-uploaded on one of the popular mobile forums, and on this moment it was downloaded by about 2000 users.

However, few of these 2000 were familiar with the peculiarities of the Indian telecom, which Eldar Murtazin once spoke about in the article “The Indian Electronics Market. How it works. MicroMax Example". Those who wish can familiarize themselves with it, the article itself is quite interesting. Well, we will focus on the main thing. Due to the peculiarities of the Indian electronics market, as well as the lack of other ways to control sales of phones by Micromax, the following scheme was developed to record sales of their devices: “After buying a phone, when a person inserts his SIM card, he is asked to register the device with MicroMax, for This automatically sends one SMS message. This message knows from which device it was sent, the company also sees to whom and when it was shipped. This is already enough to understand the level of sales "...

The most attentive readers have already guessed what I'm getting at. Having flashed our device with firmware intended for the Indian market and installed a SIM card there, when we turn it on, we will naturally get the device activated, i.e. sending one or more SMS to a number in India or short number, which can be free for subscribers of operators in India or Sri Lanka, but very paid for subscribers of Russian operators.

In our discussion, this story is important as an illustration of the fact that such a possibility exists and no one can determine the vulnerabilities of the firmware before installing it. In the case of SMS, this became possible due to the billing of the operator, but not due to the special care of users. Now imagine that the vulnerability sleeps for the time being or simply leaks your data to the side, which can then be used somehow else. There are a huge number of scenarios for this, and most of them are implemented easily and simply. By installing firmware from third-party sites (as well as software), you yourself open the way for intruders to your phone. The fact that this has become a serious problem for Russia is evidenced by the fact that we are the leader in the number of Android devices infected with trojans among all countries of the world! Number one in the sad rating. And this is not a sign of Android vulnerability, but rather the thoughtless behavior of people who put incomprehensible programs on their phones and then wonder why something unpleasant happens to them.

I will cite as an example my friend, who struck me to the core. He showed me his Galaxy S6 and asked what kind of weather constantly pops up on his lock screen, and she also shows advertising banners. All this was accompanied by the phrase "I did not set anything special, only what my colleagues advised me." And, apparently, there was a lot of advice, since three screens were strewn with icons, among which I found three shells for the interface, a GSM signal amplifier and no less "useful" software, often duplicating functions or replacing system applications. I could not understand this menagerie, as well as find on the go who is displaying this picture on the screen. He offered to reset the phone to the factory state and then carefully install only the software that is needed and about which my friend knows what it is and what it is eaten with. It is curious that about half of the programs cannot be found in Play market, they are only available from third-party sources.

Not stupid, but to be honest, a smart person in this matter showed complete irresponsibility and installed a bunch of left software himself. What for? The answer is simple, not yet on the hearing of history, when something unpleasant happened, and people lost real money. But every year there will be more and more such stories, the main thing is that you do not fall into this sad statistics. But here it all depends on you and your informational cleanliness, no one can protect you from you. You rule over your devices entirely and undivided. If you want to put any software there, you can find opportunities for this. But then you should not complain that something went wrong. You always need to realistically assess the risks that may be in front of you. And you just don’t need to think that if you have never heard of hacks, then everything is fine and from the site “Bloody schoolgirls in the form of a dot no” you will be given only the right software, especially if it says that it was checked for the absence of viruses. Don't be naive.

I am sure that many install software not from the official store (I don’t even stutter about the firmware), tell me why you are doing this and why? What pushes you to do it?

P.S. Somehow, involuntarily, this issue turned out to be about common sense, however, as always before, this seems to me the most important thing in life, as well as the ability to think critically, to think about information that falls into our hands from various sources.

On behalf of our editorial staff, some scammers sometimes try to take devices for “tests”. We rarely take such devices from someone else, especially since we know who to call and who to ask if such a need arises. Moreover, we do not write letters from the left addresses. This is done by scammers who either pop up or disappear. And this is also a test of common sense for those who receive such letters. Here is an example of such a letter:

We are located at the address: Nizhny Novgorod region, the city of Shakhunya
I think that it is possible to send only by mail, since the city is small
Here are our postal details:
1, Full name Vedernikova Arina Sergeevna
Address: Russia, Nizhny Novgorod region, Shakhunsky district, City of Shakhunya
st. Revolutionary, house 31 Zip code: 606910

Are they scammers? Definitely yes. But this is clear from the letter, and it is not even worth wasting time debriefing why this is so. In a word, I advise you to show more common sense in life and, most importantly, live within your means, no matter how sad it may sound. Have a nice week!
